Hey all i need some help with the deck im building... it really does have a slow start it seems like. This is not going to be competitive, just for fun among friends. I put this in standard thread because all friends are stanard except Clone which I may take out.
and 23 lands
---59 cards total---
I need some suggestions for this please. Boon Satyr Doesnt feel right in this deck. I also think I have to much cloning abilities.
The point i want with this deck is to be able to cast creatures and cause damage if you havent seen that already. Twin Flame was also i thought just because the mana is cheap. Please let me know your suggestions.
Cards that would have triggers when things goto the graveyard may also work well. Incase the hornets get wiped and put to the graveyard vs a control deck. Obviously they would not stay in the graveyard, but anything that has a trigger.
Last thing please let me know how to put the deck list into a chart.... I cant remember the code how to.
It looks like you want to kill with Purphoros and Impact Tremors triggers.
The U in this deck looks like it is slow and almost the definition of win-more. Sure, copying a Hornet Queen is great, but the games where you have a Hornet Queen are probably good already. UU for Clever Impersonator seems like distorting your mana base for an uncertain payoff. Now, if you were using U for Chasm Skulker that would be a little earlier and more synergistic, I think. Temur Charm has a fight mode that would work well with your Hornet Nests. Savage Knuckleblade is a big body also has a bounce ability that could work well with your win conditions. Sarkhan Unbroken has the potential to be broken in your deck by providing ramp, spawning creatures and drawing cards. I would either get rid of the U entirely or have it work better with your win conditions.
If you are using Purphoros, one idea would be to maximize your R devotion, so he could rumble or block. Chandra can be used to draw cards or ping your own Nests. Outpost Siege "draws" you cards, too. Dragon Whisperer provides efficient R devotion and can spawn creatures.
Goblin Rabblemaster spawns creatures and provides R devotion. He may be a cliche, but he looks fantastic in this deck.
Setessan Tactics works well with the Nests and the deathtouch insects.
You can't count on your opponents to trigger your Nests. I would want more ways to make sure that they make tokens.
You have the ability to make lots of mana. Crater's Claws seems like it could be used either directly or indirectly to win.
I hope some little bit of this rant makes a difference. And if you feel like it, I would enjoy hearing what you decide to do and how well it works for you. Have fun!
Sounds good man I will think about it this weekend and see what i come up with next week. I may just take the blue out entirely to be honest, but we will see what happens. I probably will not run white in this deck. I already made a UW soldier token deck so i dont want to add that in this deck too.
I was thinking of taking out Roast, and putting in another Impact trempors, but i left it in there.
I liked this Chandra better then the other one, because the whole point of her really is to get hornets out of the nest. This way I can just deal 1 damage to the nest and none to myself (unlike the other Chandra).
Im not doing any pain lands or anything because im not looking to spend an arm and a leg on this deck lol.
The deck seems tighter to me and looks much better.
A few minor comments.
The second ability of the newer Chandra is so much stronger than the Firebrand in your deck. Tactics makes copies by itself and you only have a single Roast. Plus the Pyromaster is in standard. If you lose a significant amount of life to your own Chandra pings, that means you've made a lot of creatures, so it's probably worth it. "Draw"ing cards can be a lifesaver when you are flooded, screwed or out of gas.
Honestly, you just want to have Wooded Foothills for every GR deck you will ever make. They will also probably hold or gain value.
Now that you've decided to make a devotion subtheme, Hammer of Purphoros is at least a good card for the side versus control that works really well with your main theme.
Thanks for the update and good luck!
Ok, so some of your cards aren't standard legal. What's standard? Here's a helpful link that you should read.
In order for your thread to be in the "Standard Forum" your deck has to comply with the format, which only utilizes the cards in sets mentioned in the link. Otherwise, this deck is a casual deck and I'll move your thread there.

I was thinking of taking out the 4x Boon Satyr and adding in 4x Zergo Bellstriker or some Rattleclaw Mystic just to give the deck a faster thought.

Scavenging Ooze is not in Standard either.
Deck tags are super easy, and using them makes the mods' life easier.

Token generation seems like the best way to utilize your win conditions. W generally has better token creation than U. If I were to go into a third color for this deck, it would be W. Consider: Secure the Wastes, Monastery Mentor, Elspeth, Brimaz, Mastery of the Unseen, First Response in conjunction with painlands, Heliod. Or consider Launch the Fleet with Vanguard of Brimaz and Akroan Crusader if you want to invest in more heroic triggers. Dromoka's Command has a fight mode that works wonderfully with your Nests.
Whisperwood Elemental spawns creatures. Hooded Hydra also seems interesting.

RNA Standard: Grixis Midrange, Jund Deathwhirler, Sultai Vannifar
GRN Standard: Red Midrange, Mono-Blue Tempo, Wr Aggro, Gruul Experimental Dinosaurs, Sultai Midrange, Jeskai Midrange
Modern: Bant Spirits
Forcing a single archetype in all formats: too many colors, bad mana.
Thanks for the help. I will post an update soon!
