i like a lot selesnyan colors and currently running a GW counters heroic, i open a couple of Anafenzas on the pre so perhaps i can gave this one a try as well
i'm not sure.. Servant of the Scale gets killed/destroyed his ability goes on the stack, i would say yes. For his ability to go on the stack he would have to be moved to the graveyard thus boon satyr has already fallen off the creature and then his triggered ability could resolve placing the counter on Boon satyr..at least that how i see it.
Yes, this is correct. The alternate cost of Bestow creates a continuous effect that turns the creature spell into an Aura. This ends as soon as Servant of the Scale hits the yard because the Bestow effect ends once the Bestow creature becomes unattached. Boon Satyr doesn't even "resolve" as a creature. He is an already-resolved permanent. His type/subtype changes from "Enchantment - Aura" to "Enchantment Creature - Satyr" and then is available for the counter from Servant of the Scale when its triggered ability hits the stack.
I found a list online somewhere that is running the U/W heroic strategy but with Green replacing the blue. You get Phalanx leader which buffs your whole army for Avatar of the Resolute. Plus the heroic guys are easy to get counters on anyhow. The list did not include defiant strike however it included Gather Courage for anti burn I guess. I think a good card draw card is Inspiring Call. It was also running ordeal of nylea and herod. Servant of the scale as well I love that little Arcbound Worker. I am going to approach this list with a couple extra goodies I think Dramoka's command and fleecemane lion are hearty editions and possibly swapping Gather Courage for Ranger's Guile. I do like Defiant Strike it has always been pretty solid with Heroic theme decks.
Creature (21)
3x Akroan Skyguard
4x Avatar of the Resolute
4x Favored Hoplite
3x Hero of Iroas
4x Phalanx Leader
3x Servant of the Scale
I feel like Inspiring Call would be very nice in this deck for midrange play. Setessan Tactics out for Inspiring Call. I would say lose mortal's ardor for defiant strike and cut akroan skyguard for Ranger's Guile and possibly cut 1 land and 1 Ordeal of Nylea for Become Immense? You may not need Become Immense in this deck or at the very least I feel like against grindy matchups it would be easy since your GY is probably full anyhow.
Sup guys didn't realize there was a thread on this already.
My list went for value cards that get hit by Collected Company. I left out Deathmist Raptor but he totally fits the shell. Just not sure what I'd take out, Boon Satyr maybe? I really like the Flash on him though.
Not sold on my SB. 4 Coursers 4 Masteries 3 Whisperwoods 2 Glares 2 Plummets. I'm kinda souring on the idea since I don't really get the most out of GW Manifest without Nykthos and Poluk
Red aggro is strong against GW, any shell. Surge of Righteousness and Ajani Steadfast are the cards I use for now.
Honestly, Raptor is one hell of a card against Abzan and control. If Whisperwood and Mastery are in the SB for these MUs, Raptors should be in the maindeck. He also gives Dromoka's Command great value when the meta will adapt to it : Banishing Light, Chained to the Rocks, etc... will focus on raptors.
Are there any good GW fliers that get hit by Collected Company? I can't think of any. I agree that this deck could really use evasion, but I'm loathe to go too much higher at the risk of whiffing on Collected Company.
Of course, that could just be a sign that I shouldn't be playing Collected Company.
If you need fliers, one thing to consider in this deck might be abzan falconer If you're mainboarding anafenza with command, there is a possibility of granting a number of creatures evasion.
I'm also finding valorous stance underwhelming. It's bad in the first three turns generally, bad against aggro, mediocre against control. It's great against the midrange green decks, but I'm wondering if that's enough to justify its presence in the mainboard over something like god's willing.
The archetype needs something against PWs. Ashiok, Narset, Elspeth, Ugin. And since I've been disappointed by Wingmate Roc so far, I may do an easy cut for 2 Banishing Light. The card helps in creature MUs to get through the opponent's defense.
So overall, the archetype struggles against red aggro, and probably control. Not easy to build that thing.

Pioneer - A bunch of stuff Modern - Humans Legacy - Grixis Phoenix / Death & Taxes
Your list has a few problems. First, you commit quite enough in white and green so that you want at least 10 GW mana sources.
Secondly, you play only 20 creatures for 16 spells that require a creature on the board. The ratio is very unbalanced. I don't believe we can go beyond 8 non-creature-spells unless the extra spells are threats (like Elspeth, Suns's Champion or Mastery of the Unseen for example).
The format is rather aggressive right now, WRx aggro, monoR, Rx aggro, etc... So we're not always able to ignore our opponents threats. CA engines are also a big deal (Abzan, Gx devo, Ux control etc...). So we need some piece of interaction : removals. It can be under the form of the new megamorph creatures or, as usual, non-creature spells. for now, i want at least 8 removals in my list, but I feel like we need more, otherwise we need CA engines ourselves.
We know Narset is gonna see play, Ashiok, Sorin, Outpost Siege, Mastery... All these cards help them stabilize.
All these win cons are slow. Siege Rhino will race such a plan. You need more creatures to overcome other midrange decks. So imagine against aggro... it'd be even worse for you. The best creatures to over-protect are heroic creatures. If you want to play such a plan, just drop Warden, he'll cost too much resources to produce the same impact as an heroic dude. Also, you'll always full tap for 4 or 6 mana to pump Warden, which leaves him with no protection at some point in the game.

2 new Dromoka in the sideboard should handle control fine.
26 targets for Collected Company, with the potential for some really busted end of turn power being added to the board. Also I feel it has good late game potential and a lot of synergy. The sideboard is, of course, a work in progress, but I built it to fight a diverse new meta. Suggestions / constructive criticisms are appreciated.
My deck is built to try and turn on Surrak as often and easily as possible. That's why I opted for a lot of 3+ power guys. Boon Satyr, Fleecemane, Deathmist, and Warden can turn him on by themselves.
The one major difference between my list and others lists is that I'm using Feat of Resistance instead of Valorous Stance. My reasoning for this is that the +1/+1 counter can make Den Protector or Elvish + Warden turn Surrak on and the other reason is that exiling is a real bummer for the deck but boardwipes can be manageable with Surrak and Collected Company and Whisperwood. Protection will save from exiling effects and will also let my guys swing past blockers.
Den Protector is also great, flipping him to return Dromoka's Command or Feat or Collected Co or Surrak has been pretty sweet, EOT Flip to get Surrak with Haste has been something my opponents have not been ready for. It's a fun little combo. Deathmist is also sweet alongside Whisperwood and Protector, it lets the deck keep up with the late game (hopefully it doesn't come to that).
I haven't been able to go to an FNM though because time has been on a crunch. Anyone play a variant of GW aggro this weekend? How'd you do?
It's pretty similar to the list I've been testing. It seems a turn slower, but goes bigger with cards like Wingmate Roc and Citadel Siege. A few questions:
-What are the singletons doing for you? Gather Courage and Banishing Light are both good, but I'm curious what it's doing for you?
-The Blossoming Sands and the Mana Confluence seem, as much of a strange thought as it sounds, like you're really trying to cover your color requirements. Its not a bad idea because, really, GG and WW are hard to hit in the same deck. However, you might be setting yourself back in tempo too much to make these plays relevant. I might try to decide whether I value stronger cards and cut the Blossoming Sands, or tempo and cut the Mana Confluence.
I find gather courage is nice for other aggressive decks, might add another to the sideboard when I get around to making it. It is also a nice suprise against red decks.
Banishing Light is just another removal spell main deck for things that need to be answered like planeswalkers, some key creatures that you can't fight, or perilous vaults.
The mana base is still a work in progress, but I do I agree about the tempo I might cut 2 Blossoming Sands for basics most likely.

Instead of Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit, I opted for Phalanx Leader because he can apply counters faster than Anafenza and he works real well with the singleton Secure the Wastes. I wonder if it would be better to go a bit more token-heavy when using Phalanx Leader, though.
I was thinking that collected company might be even better if a deck had a good chance of throwing out a number of deathtouch creatures as surprise blockers. Fight effects compliment this strategy and can give you a bunch of surprise 1/1 flying deathtouch blockers if used on the Hornet Nests. Anefenza and Aniok Bond Kin can suddenly give some of your deathtouch creatures first strike (Archetype of Courage would be better, but my meta is full of enchantment hate right now). the Warden and Fleecemane are there for the long game. I would play 4 Deathmist Raptors, but I only own three.
The sideboard is meant to shore up weakness against control and Rx aggro. Glare is for abzan and gw mirror matches and the Avatar helps block fliers. I'm still not sure about rally the ancestors, but it has the potential to be a fun suprise board wipe if your opponent swings in with everything late in the game. I've also considered Return to the Ranks in the same slot.
Try this list out, anyone that's up for it. Won a win a box and went 4-0 at FNM with it so far.
4 Elvish Mystic
4 Avatar of the Resolute
4 Fleecemane Lion
4 Boon Satyr
4 Reverent Hunter
3 Surrak, the Hunt Caller
3 High Sentinels of Arashin

1 Valorous Stance
3 Collected Company
2 Silkwrap
1 Dromoka's Command
3 Surge of Righteousness
2 Glare of Heresy
2 Banishing Light
1 Hunt The Hunter
I don;t think I really like the Collected Company out of the board. Only 20 targets in the deck, 4 of them being mana dorks makes it feel like you could punt a lot on it. I do like the maindeck Valorous Stance, though.
This is where I've gotten with my list, trying to go wide with Sunblade Elf, Brimaz, and Collected Company.
4 Anafenza sometimes works, sometimes doesn't in testing. I think I want to go to 3 or maybe even 2, but I don't know what I could put in the slot because I would like to stay at about 26 creatures. Maybe more Boon Satyrs? Deathmist Raptors? Hornet's Nest?
Well sunblade Elf comes down turn 1 and it has a minor pump across the board that can close out the game if needed. So far I'm liking it and have not needed another 2 drop.

Sunblade Elf works really well with Collected Company. Sometimes you have to win by going wide, and Sunblade Elf makes games way easier to win that way.
