Yah, I was saying Whelming wave was good lol. It was really the only card that shined.
I was going to add White, but I wasn't ready to commit to all the mana fixing needed. If I added white, I could add End Hostilities and a couple other good cards in place of the stuff that didn't perform well.
We're not playing Swan Song, in my opinion, because it doesn't deal with cards that threaten us the most - planeswalkers. I'd much rather have Negate in the main than Swan Song. And the 2/2 bird isn't completely negligible - it's still a threat we have to take off the board at some point. If you don't have your bow out, you really don't want to be trading any other card in your hand for that bird.

I used to be tessie on here. Not that I was prolific enough to warrant remembrance, but merely for reference, and maybe posterity.
In my limited testing I found even a 2/2 is a threat that wastes good fog/wipe cards. I agree Negate would be a better fit. I was running 4 Negate in my sideboard against burn match ups, but may switch some to main. I feel like no matter how you cut it though this deck is tier 2 at best....
Possibly. But historically speaking, Turbofog has never been a "top deck" of any sort. It's the kind of deck that takes advantage of a very specific meta and runs with it. Are even the control decks midrange? Is everyone winning with creatures and only creatures? Then maybe Turbofog can run away with a tourney or two. But usually no more than that. It's a tough deckbuilding experiment, trying to balance the card draw/fogs/removal/land, and correctly calling a metagame weak to turbofog takes guts.
Maybe this is one of those times, maybe it isn't. I'm having a hard time getting a list to work well against 60% of the meta right now, but that's because there are so many decks out there right now. Also, most decks have some form of reach. But I haven't given up yet. I'm not 100% on taking a turbofog list to regionals this weekend; how I do at game night tonight should give me more insight into what I want to do. It remains to be seen how good or bad this style of deck can be.

I added in a Kruphix, God of Horizons. It's a good mana-sink for Dig and Wealth, it can go online with just Dictates out, and the flavor is too good hahaha
How's Elspeth in most games? Considering on getting the Elspeth & Kiora duel deck to change the art of the Kiora I placed in this deck. It'll be a waste if I don't place in Elspeth too, right?
I think Elspeth is worth running, I have been able to play Elspeth a couple times and play End Hostilities and go on the attack. Paired with Kiora and glimpse it gives you a chance to win by damage.

Ohhhh! Should take that into consideration then~
Right now I'm still struggling with the sideboard. Here are the "popular" decks in our LCS:
1. Abzan
2. Mardu
3. UB Control
4. Mono-Red
I think I can manage with the Abzan and Mardu. It's the UB Control (ESPECIALLY THAT ASHIOK) that's causing me problems. Mono-red is like a 50-50 matchup for me. I managed to recover with the Arashin Clerics packed in the sideboard.
You'll probably want some extra counter spells against Blue based control decks something like Gainsay and maybe something that can blow up enchantments and artifacts at instant speed, would be best. Any aggressive deck should be at least a 50/50 matchup. I think discard decks could be a problem but stuff like Dark deal isn't seeing a lot of play at the moment.
I have the opinion that the Turbo Fog strategy might be better, in the current environment, as Sultai build. Please let me know if this is already up somewhere and I missed it.
I haven't had a chance to test it yet but I feel that it might put more pressure on the opponent than the Bant solution
Heading back to the Bant Shell. Splashing black for a "win more" situation with Villainous Wealth resulted in a bad Gameday for me huhu
My game day was a little less than stellar. The deck beats aggro most of the time. It struggles against any black based deck that isn't aggro and runs discard. I'm not going to tell people not to play the deck, but, you do need the right meta. Look out for stuff like Ajani's Presence it can ruin your day against heroic decks. I played a End Hostilities on turn 5 to reset the board and my opponent responded with a strived Ajani's Presence and died the next turn Gods willing can also cause some problems in that match. The best cards in the deck for me , were , Elspeth and Kiora .

I think a black splash is stronger than white just from Ashiok. I just don't see what white has to bring to the table. Someone else mentioned end hostilities not working against heroic, so fogs and bounce are better in those match ups. Blue and green have that covered.
I dont want to say that you misplayed cause i wasnt there, but sometimes wiping the board too early is a misplay because you might not have counter magic mana up. this deck can be tricky to play cause you have to have an idea of what they might have in hand that could disrupt you. if you had no fogs in hand and they had close to lethal then yes you have to wipe there, but if you had a fog its better to sit so you can wipe with counterspell support later.

It was one of those do or die moments he had built enough board presence to take me down in a turn. I had been drawing land after land the only other card I had was Elspeth which I would have died before I could play. If you have bad draws with this deck you die, more so than other decks because once they build a board presence they only need one open swing.
then yeah you played it right, just unlucky draws. sometimes even drawing 3+ cards a turn you hit lands. this deck can be reallllly swingy. some dars you draw well and roll people, some days you dont

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it put an evasive creature in its deck over a narrow hate card.

If a card isn't worth your opponent removing, it's not worth putting in your deck.
One thing I forgot to mention. Glimpse the sun God works really well as another fog card I was never disappointed to draw it. For those who play black instead of white Icy blast will work to even if you don't get to use its ferocious ablitiy. Liliana vess may be worth testing in the black list since she allows you to tutor up answers on the spot and her ultimate is likely game over.
I really have a feeling that a third fog will be out next set.
Well anyway, right now I'm trying some Jeskai Sage in the main board. It helps me poke early game, block out things and still get a card out of it, and targeted removal still gets me something. I know it's kinda weird but just testing haha

I like Kiora as a one or two-of, don't want to over rely on her as a wincon since she's not too hard to remove before she emblems. I would prefer Grindclock as a win-con when paired with Dictate. Yes, it feeds enemy Delve mechanics but let's think what Delve spells are actually being run - basically only draw spells and Murderous Cut. Well, Cut has no targets against us (at least game one) and do we really care if the oppo draws more if our plan is millout? I see Grindclock as a perfect win condition. A lot of people are boarding things like Erase, which is good against Dictate or Banishing Light but worthless against the clock. The only other danger is that it powers up Sidisi and Tasigur but really, Sidisi is no big threat when we have lots of wraths and fogs, and Tasigur actually is terrible against an online Clock, since we can always avoid giving them back anything relevant.
Secondly, I would like to recommend Ætherspouts as a better Whelming Wave when running Grindclock. With a sufficiently charged Grindclock, it allows us to permanently get rid of enemy creatures no matter what the oppo chooses. If they topdeck them, we can just mill them away with Clock. Or they bottom the creatures and we just charge the Clock some more... What do you think?
I tried using Ætherspouts for a while before and it didn't work out well for me. Well maybe cause I didn't stick with the Grindclock synergy and maybe my luck with it is just bad. Hahaha
Oh and on a side note. A friend of mine made a comment about the Dissolves that I run in the main and the Negates that I run in the side. If I am already keeping watch over creatures in the main (with all those End Hos, Whelming Waves, B. Lights, Fogs, etc) would it be better to just run the Negates in the MB as they'll watch over the other spells? Casting it will be much easier than the Dissolves. But I'll be missing the scry.
