+1/+1 Engines:
Ordeals: Ordeal of Nylea and Ordeal of Thassa provide the +1/+1 counters and allow mana ramp and card draws.
Enchantments: Hardened Scales doubles the counters and hastens the triggering of the Ordeals.
Outlast: well, only one creature with outlast - Tuskguard Captain, but it gives Trample to creatures with +1/+1 counters.
Spells: Nature's Panoply and Solidarity of Heroes gives instant speed +1/+1 counters - and with strive options - for combat offense and defense, also useful for triggering the ordeals
Untap Engine: Prophet of Kruphix adds great support on this deck. It hastens the adding of +1/+1 counters and gives the deck great flexibility on the game. Scourge of Skola Vale can get really big when the prophet is in play.
Combat: Heir of the Wilds allows for a somewhat early defense and offense with it's deathtouch and ferocious abilities. Jeskai Windscout allows for a midrange offense; and it's Prowess ability is very likely to be triggered most of the time. Icefeather Aven is a good 2cmc for 2/2 with flying.
Burn and Control Crater's Claws is a good old burn spell. Icefeather Aven has a useful return to hand morph ability to get rid of creatures in play. Stubborn Denial is a cheap counterspell that is almost always sure to trigger its Ferocious ability because of the deck's big creatures.
I'd say it's not a beat to the face deck, but a building up power type of deck. not too fast, not too slow; and it can somehow adapt to most of the plays the opposing deck brings to the field.
It's only the first versions though, so it's still really a deck that's just started to be formed. I've only test-played it with my friends, and it somehow holds well. I've yet to see how it holds up with more games. And being a new deck, there's always room for improvements.
I realize he doesn't fit the theme perfectly, but it seems crazy not to play with Savage Knuckleblade.
I already have one knuckleblade that i got from the box-break; and i can put it in, once i got at least another one. problem is they're quite expensive here.
