Junk superfriends seems to be a very interesting and powerful deck. Using Planeswalkers such as Ajani Steadfast to beef up, and later prevent damage to, our creatures and other planeswalkers. Liliana Vess helps us keep the opponent's hand size down and search for other planeswalkers. Courser of Kruphix and Nyx-Fleece Ram help block early on as well as provide lifegain. Reaper of the Wilds is a resilient and powerful creature who can make combat harder for our opponent and Brimaz, King of Oreskos makes more blockers and is a good blocker himself. The cards in this deck have lots of synergy without lacking power. The key to making this deck work is staying alive until later in the game to play our walkers and gain advantage.
Suggestions would be appreciated. Please don't suggest cards that are going to rotate out soon (RTR and M14 cards). Thanks!
I just built the same deck this weekend...granted it's not 100% post rotation. I figured I should still make use of the best cards available for now cuz who knows what other wonders this deck may get when Tarkir drops. That being said most of it is set to be in after rotation and lets me get a feel for what I think could be a top deck going forward. I'll try to post mine later if I get some time.
In my testing, Ajani Steadfast was really just win more. In order to really get value out of his -2 you have to have multiple walkers out, but if you have multiple walkers out you're winning anyway. I actually kind of like him in your deck though, because you run Brimaz and 2 Elspeth. I only run 1 Elspeth so it didn't work for me. I can see steadfast making more of an impact with more token generators. And the Chain Veil was just too slow for me. You seem to be pretty light on removal. We're in a format of must remove creatures. Advent of the Wurm has been doing some work in this deck. He's never expected. One of my favorite plays has been to minus Lily to put advent on top then protect her with it next turn. Finally, I highly recommend Unravel the Aether over Naturalize. Same mana cost, same speed, but much more effective; especially against the gods and other indestructible things.
One note though: If you want to get anywhere you have to be willing to use all the cards in the card pool. Your opponent certainly won't limit himself, so why should you?
Usually I'm a U/W, UB or Esper control player, but with 2015, Green has really intrigued me. I created a thread after searching unsuccessfully for your thread. Here's my take on the deck. I haven't tested it yet, but this is the paper-built deck for now. I will be testing it this weekend with proxies to see how it works.
I'll let you know how it goes come monday. I may end up putting vraska in and changing the numbers of each PW if steadfast becomes a win/more card as TabooTapeworm says.
