That's a clearer answer. It's true that by itself it's not much of a play, but I still feel opening with Mystic, Caryatid, Prophet is the bomb if I have any other spells around. Depending what I have I either accelerate my board or decelerate their board and either way I'm ahead. If I have a second prophet in hand, we'll call it insurance against removal, and it's fine to cost 5 because I'm getting 10 mana per turn anyway. Even if they kil her, it's 1 for 1 cards, but I got an extra play out.
Still, your results are better than mine so I'm coming your way. Playing Curse of the Swine and Prognostic Sphinx 3x.

Mild M15 spoilers: Wizards built our deck, and it's for sale! As usual it's the sort of deck with lots of different cards instead of focusing, but it's interesting to see. And if anybody want to buy into this deck, the Clash Pack is an economical way to get started.

Does anyone think Chord of Calling would be a viable option for this deck? Maybe searching for a Kiora or satyr and putting it into play? then again, it is pretty costly
Chord searches creatures, so not Kiora. Satyr prefers bestowing so not that. Sphinx or Polukranos seem the best ordinary finds. Myself I'm planning on Yisan for straight card advantage. I can start by searching a blocker (Sedge Scorpion), a counter (Judge's Familiar) or elf. Same for 2nd round. And playing this way let's me keep turn 3 and 4 open for blocking and for an instant response from my hand. And Yisan blocks better than Boon Satyr.
Pretty close I'd say. But of all the cards to have 2-of, why Illusory Angel? Other cards you might cast from your hand but that one will be stuck while half your mana is spent on Yisan or Chord. I would substitute Courser of Kruphix or Hornet Nest.

It's just a card to help pressure and it's in the air. With 10 mana dorks I don't think it's unreasonable to think you can cast it +1 other card early on. I did realize I left out Hornet Nest and Setessan Tactics which are 2 cards I really want to have access to so I will probably be changing this a bit before I even make it home to proxy it up.
It looks random, but it actually isn't. The plan is to get major card advantage through two means:
1) Get extra cards with Yisan, Courser, Sphinx, Bident, Chord of Calling
2) Destroy their game with 3 deathtouch cards (flashable) and some other destructive creatures, and combat tricks.
The raft of strange creatures is simply because of Chord and Yisan, but the core of elf-follower-courser-polukranos-prophet-sphinx is the same.
The reason we have fewer of these creatures is that I now have 4 ways to search them up if I don't draw them.

Recently bought four of the M15 Clashpacks in hopes of getting back into standard from a year long absence from the format. Here's my current bare bones list for rotation and I'm hoping for some suggestions and or cuts.
If you have that many mana dorks you'll end up with a ton of mana, and not much to do with it. Personally I think courser, mystic, and follower are best if you're trying to ramp to expensive stuff, especially with Nykthos. I'd say take out the Caryatids and put in Polukranos. The two negates . . . I don't know if they're going to show up often enough to be worth it. And you need some way to replenish your hand to really take advantage of Prophet. I like Zameck Guildmage and Prime Speaker Zegana.
Tonight was a small 8-man tournament, with one game vs. Slivers wherein I got god hands (because he had limited removal), one game vs. Esper control (where I once again felt powerless), and one game vs. Junk Constellation that I went 1-2 due to him having more answers than me.
But vs. slivers, hoo boy. Get this:
Turn 1 - Forest, Elf
Turn 2 - Breeding Pool, Follower
Turn 3 - Nykthos, Prophet of Kruphix; untap, Prime Speaker Zegana to draw 3 cards
Turn 4 - Temple, Zameck Guildmage, Courser with a +1/+1 counter; untap, Polukranos and Hornet Nest, each with 3 counters
At this point he had indestructible deathtouch flying slivers. (And he would have totally wrecked me if he'd gotten his Thorncaster Sliver.
Turn 5 - Draw some cards by pulling counters off Poly; untap, use Follower and Nykthos to produce a total of 17 mana; activate Zameck 4 times, monstrosity for 4 to ping the Hornet Nest and get four 5/5 fliers to block his slivers.
Turn 6 - Draw a ton of cards and finally get a Cyclonic Rift.
You missed a step, as you don't have enough ramp for Zegana. Rift is a temporary (but here sufficient) answer to flying indestructible slivers. I prefer Polymorphist's Jest.

Top-8'd a local tournament. I'm telling you Yisan is awesome here, and deserves equal billing with the Prophet, but they majorly work together. The list needs some tweaking, but it's good.

In my limited experience, the deck is all about card and board advantage. I think Reid Duke was right to splash white for Ephara as she would be nuts drawing two cards a turn. But I don't have white lands.
I splashed black for Golgari Charm vs Control, but enchant kill and the combo with Jest are also reasons to play it.
The list isn't exact and needs tweaking. It's good because it doubles the number of cards that must be removed by spells and most lists don't have enough removal. AETHERSPOUTS is useless because they don't attack except one evasive or giant guy and for that Jest is better. I'm gonna try Master Biomancer because all my little guys, and hornets. Also Hornet Queen.
Matchups: Jund - they get Xenagos and Stormbreath and still lose.
Black Aggro - no chance. For them. unless I get no tricks to stop Master or Marauder.
B devotion: won 2-0 but the pilot was rusty.
Junk Superfriends: lost 2-1 but it could have been different.
RW burn: lost 2-1, but very close.
3-color control: won 2-0
UW: never played but expect trouble. I'm buying a witchstalker as a Chord Target post-verdict.

I find that in earlier, pre-Chord/Yisan builds, I could survive Verdict or Elspeth, but not one after the other. So few creatures trample, so Elspeth blanks a ton of the deck. I'd consider Nylea.
I'll track down a deadly recluse for stormbreaths and d-demons, but I want to fit in Zameck Guildmages.
Oddly I never used Deadly. I killed those with a variety of other answers: Tactics with Polukranos, Jest, Sylvan Primordial, hornets from Hornet Nest, and just putting them on defensive play.
Um, if you have a leftover Golgari Charm, that helps Elspeth soldiers but that's not a likely scenario. otherwise Sphinx is the ideal Elspeth killer/bypasser. Walkers are why I put one Phyrexian Revoker in the side, but I don't expect that to last in control matches. Still, if it can put Jace out for a turn it could be worth it.

Good questions. @tflceia, too many niche cards is a trap it's hard to avoid.
Why Horizon Chimera? I need a second 4 drop creature besides legendary Polukranos. I need a flyer somewhere to hit planeswalkers. I'm not 100% on this card, but my opponents have targeted it because they don't like evasion.
Deadly Recluse? I think I was overcompensating for my previous build which died too often to aggressive decks. Still, a chordable/Yisanable (at turn 4/5) blocker for stormbreath is useful.
Wasteland viper? I have tons of combat tricks already so I'm dropping it.
3 Polymorphous Jest and no Cyclonic rift? I love Jest, and putting rift in too.
Hornet Nest will move to sideboard. Agree.
10 mana dorks are required for T3 prophet/sphinx or T2 courser/Yisan which the deck loves any of these plays. 8 are essential for the game plan. Follower is a huge bomb with Nykthos untapping big guys and Yisan. T1 Mystic is awesome. Caryatid is wanted to help a black splash.
You are correct that the deck doesn't usually put early game pressure, and that's why I play Jest as a defensive card. Elvish Mystic can trade Fleecemane Lion etc. But this deck easily survives the short game and dominates the middle game with huge card advantage.
Everyone dismissed Prophet as a 5 mana do-nothing card. "What if they kill it?". The answer is you're ahead because you flash in a second creature and they lost a removal spell. Yisan gets the same reaction (too slow) until they see it in action:
A) they kill it immediately: Yisan for Downfall is an even trade. No loss, and now they can't kill the prophet because they used their spell.
B) they kill after 1 use: I have an extra free elf and can play bigger stuff sooner. I win.
C) they kill after 2 uses: 6 mana spent for Divination (2 cards) and playing them out and eliminating a kill spell. I got the ideal draws, the ramp I need and I have 2 more cards in hand and the same amount of board presence (although smaller). Next turn I play Aetherling with U protection or Sylvan Primordial or Prophet and one of those or Polukranos+monstrous or overload rift or Golgari charm+jest or Setessan tactics strived+jest. Any of these and I will be ahead on board and hand.
D) they didn't have removal: 3rd round I get two cards, or just one and play a trick. I'm winning.
Rangerwicket has sold me on zameck guildmage. One more card advantage engine they must kill. Unless they're UW control, they simply aren't able to kill everything.
If we're putting in black for Golgari Charm, I'm also considering Soul of Innistrad. I feel like it could help a ton against Verdict, since you can fetch back Yisan, Prophet, and a Kiora's Follower with a single activation. (That might not be optimal, but it's not bad.)
Instead of Horizon Chimera, I say Nylea. Trample gets past Elspeth tokens, and late game it lets you swing with a single Elvish Mystic for 5 (or do ridiculousness if you have board presence and Nykthos).
Here is the list I have been working on. It's more based on cards I already have, but I'm looking to pick up some more singles that will help it out. Seems like it runs pretty smooth against my other standard decks already. I'm bringing it to FNM this friday to try it out.
I included the Aqueous forms since it's nice to be able to get in for some clean damage with a big hitter.
I find that I like Kiora's Follower over Sylvan Caryatid because of the possibility of multiple Nykthos activations, but I'm not sure if it's worth losing the hexproof defender against aggro.
Sideboard targets aggro with aetherspouts, big creature matchups with the hornet stuff and simic charm, removal with the sphinx and simic charm, control & boardwipes with soul of new phyrexia and dissolve, enchantments with reclamation sage. Fun double counters with Vorel. Thinking of one more utility 1-of that I can genesis hydra or chord in.
edit: Oh my god I ******* love this deck. I'm wrecking R/W heroics, mono-green ramp and izzet control with it in testing, which are the decks I used to run.
I agree about Jace, but you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get another copy around here! Nobody including the store has any to trade.
Wickett, have you thought about the synergy of Zameck with Chasm Skulker? UG: draw a card is pretty good. Also UG: steal from another creature, pump Skulker and draw a card is nice!
I met a new deck yesterday: Green Devotion with Nissa. That deck explodes! We have tools to fight, but barely. It plays as fast as an aggro deck but big like midrange. T1 Elf, T2 Burning Tree, Voyaging Satyr, T3 Nykthos, Nissa, Polukranos, T4 Garruk and whatever he finds, T5 Monstrous Polukranos for 12 (kill 12 toughness on the board), attack.
With a different build we can try the same with Prophet. Her instead of Nissa allows the same T1-T4, but not the T5 monstrosity because our mana is split between our and their turns. But we have pseudo-vigilance and flash creatures which gives us a better defensive stance. If we proactively kill their devotion creatures or stifle their planes walkers we can win.
Still, your results are better than mine so I'm coming your way. Playing Curse of the Swine and Prognostic Sphinx 3x.
