I've been brewing some Naya Humans builds for a bit and some of the GTC cards have really caught my eye. I think the ideas I've had for them are a bit too gimmicky to be competitive, but would be fun on the FNM level.
I'd like some verification of rules for an interaction I'm looking at. It involves these cards:
GTC - Rubblebelt Raiders - For 1 colorless and 3 green or red hybrid; Creature - Human Warrior; 3/3; "Whenever ~ attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it for each attacking creature you control"
GTC - Bioshift - For a blue or green hybrid; Instant; "Move any number of +1/+1 counters from target creature onto another target creature with the same controller."
GTC - Experiment One - For a green; Creature - Human Oooze; Evolve (and more regarding regenerate that doesn't matter for this question)
Here's the question, and it involves the stack during combat:
When is the last moment that I'd be able to move counters, using Bioshift, from either Experiment One or Rubblebelt Raiders to Champion of Lambholt, and have those counters impact Champion's first clause - regarding opposing creatures not being able to block?
As I see it, it would like work like this:
Me: Attack phase?
Opponent: No response
Me: attack with Rubblebelt Raiders, X, Y, Z (so Rubblebelt and 3 other random creatures).
Trigger on stack: Rubblebelt getting 3 +1/+1 counters
Assuming no response, trigger resolves
Me: Bioshift counters from Rubblebelt to Champion
Assuming no response
Declare blockers step
Opponent must declare blockers only with creatures that have power 4+X (X = number of creatures I summoned after Champion of Lambholt was already in play)
Is that the latest I can do that? Is there a point in the declare blockers step I can pull that off in a surprising way?
Thanks for any responses on this oddball question.
I really hare to sound like a jerk, but this sounds like a rules question, no?
I believe your best bet is to take this question to the rules secontion

Don't worry, you don't sound like a jerk - you're probably right. I'll ask over there unless a mod wants to move this?
