I have been out of standard for a while now (Left at scars of mirodin) And decided to just play EDH it more casual and you are not spending 50+ a week on booster packs to build a deck.)
so yea, I have been looking online and I want to build turbofog. They welcome me back and I make them hate me right form the start. They expect it and I deliver. hing is every deck i find online is still using m12 and NPH which i believe has rotated out. So my question is, can anyone help me establish which cards I need to run for this deck?
I wouldn't recomend playing it, but Turbofrog did place 2nd in States this year. The reason why I don't recomend playing it is because the meta has changed a lot since then here is the deck list
I apologize for either misunderstanding or sounding condescending, but I definitely hope that you're not buying booster packs in order to create a Standard deck. That's far too costly by any stretch of the imagination, unless you happen to be the luckiest man on Earth. Buying singles separately or trading for what you need is far more cost effective.
That said, it doesn't really look like Turbofog is especially viable with the current card pool and in the current meta. It's *possible* to try something along those lines in a janky way if you intend to force it, but it won't be a powerhouse like you might want.
I feel for you though. My personal goal is to win a game with [c]Azor's Elocutors[/s], but I don't really see that happening in Standard anytime soon.
Its not viable for a few reasons. Usually by the time you set up any kind of fog engine, the rdw player has you under 10 life and will burn you out. The other aggro decks will also do the same. Omniscience decks dont care about damage and turbofog isnt great against control :/
GB is the way to go. The deck isn't horrible, but it folds to a lot of single cards, so it's really meta-dependent. It's pretty easy to get the engine started so you're fogging every turn after turn 4.
You want to play 4 Sign in Blood, 3-4 Underworld Connections 3-4 Harrowing Journey, and 4 Elixir of Immortality. You can play Moonmist for fogs 13-15, but I had no problem splashing white for only 3 Safe Passage. Otherworld Atlas is your most important card, and I recommend running no other non-land permanents besides that and the elixir.
The end game is to deck your opponent. If they also play elixir you can actually kill them with your draw spells.
I played 4 Farseek. Removing all the lands from your deck is useful for the endgame, and it also helps you early when you want to draw + fog.
Definitly wait till after GTC. The fast aggro decks are goint to take a big hit, so the meta should slow down enough to give turbofog a better chance.
how are fast aggro decks taking a hit when the 2 best "fast aggro" deck guilds are being printed?
if turbo fog was a deck, it will certainly get worse with #1 a larger cardpool and #2 the existence of boros+gruul
you can try omni door, it's the closest thing to turbo fog, but not sure it'll still be a deck post-rotation, it's more of just a fun tier 3 deck that can win sometimes and plays 2x fog.
You lock the opponent out of the game and win either by ultimating a planeswalker, damage from Snapcaster Mage or waiting for the opponent to run out of cards (you run 1x Elixir of immortality).

I'm a control player, because I like to reserve the right to say no.

Without discussing upcoming cards ( there's a seperate thread for that), yes there are good aggro cards coming out. However there are also some very good control/tempo cards at low cost getting printed as well. In terms of just strictly "aggro" decks, I think a pure drop and turn strategy isn't going to do very well.

No offense, but I have to agree with the other guy that disagreed with you. Boros will be a pretty good deck, and Gruul will improve upon the mono red deck going around now. Fast aggro decks aren't going anywhere with the release of GTC.
