So I really like coordinated assault to proc akroan and arena athlete, but I can't find room for it. Madcap is great but not good vs removal as you get 2 for 1'd.
So anyone try a 2/2 split of madcap/coordinated, or maybe just 4 coordinated main board and 4 madcap side? I'm just trying to find how to implement assault into my main 60 as right now I can't find space for it.
Yesterday i tried a 17 lands list in FNM, went 2x2. Lost to a game 1x2 to a Bg, got mana screw in bot games i lost, mana is a big problem for this deck sometimes. My another lost was a 0x2 to a RG.
I really like this deck, but it lack consistency. I will post my list later
I took 4 Loyalist, 4 Cakler, 4 FDS, 4 FSD, 4 BTE, 4 FFS, 4 GHC, 4 Shortcutter, 4 Zealot, 4 T. Strength, 4 Maaka, 1 Dynacharge, 15 Mountain to 4-1-1 and 3-1 finishes at FNM and TNM respectively. The deck is sick.
I've tried 2-drop based version (No heroic creatures, replaced with 2-drops such as Gore-House Chainwalker and Burning-Tree Emissary), but it didn't feel *right* as this one does.
Did people learn how to play around this deck? or is the meta too full of Mono-Us even for us to go through?
Too much mono-U. This deck is really good against UW, Esper, and mono-B. I still have it sleeved up to loan out; still can steal wins. I'm on devotion, however.
I wasn't sure how to deal with blue decks? I made a Heroic Red deck because it was cheap to make. I decided to also make this deck online and I tried it once online. I was played a standard daily and I went 2-2. I found my 4th round opponent to be difficult who was playing blue. I wasn't sure what exactly I should be sideboarding in. I wasn't sure how to deal with cards like Master of Waves? I guess you need something like Legion Loyalist in play? You need something that gives your creatures first strike? I wasn't sure if I should be trying to get more damage through or instead using my spells to kills of his creatures. Do I let a nightveil specter kill off something like a Ash Zealot?
First game I lost. Second Game I was able to kill my opponent with a skullcrack just before he was able to attack with a bunch a tokens created by Master of Waves. My 3rd match I got stuck with 2 lands and I was only able to get the opponent down to 2. Once he had played a Master of Waves I knew I was going to loose the next turn. He was at 5 life and I all I could do was play a Lightning Strike.
Hey all, I usually don't play standard but this deck looked fun, here's the list I recently put together, I went 3-1 at the last local FNM, any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.
I'm not a fan of decks like this anymore. They get eaten by monsters. I'd rather run something with Chandra's Phoenix, Boros Reckoner, and probably leave out Titan's Strength/Akroan Crusader.
standard defined = black(ish) devotion. esper (uw) control. gr (jund) monsters. blue (uw) devotion. red (rw) agro/burn
recently monsters and mono blue have fallen off slightly AND nearly everybody seems to play black or control SO
in a world of non-basics coming into play tapped or shocking, I think the time is ripe once again for...
Ive been on MBD since December, but this list has favorable matchups against public enemy #1 AND #2
as long as I draw only/at least 2-3 mountains every game... I think 18 is perfect
should I play this @ Saturday iq instead of black? does this "go under" tier 1 enough?
I just dusted ff my blitz deck as well. I was like 70% going to play burn and 30% mono black aggro. The blitz deck is so fun. Current iteration is 17 land, 9 pumps, 34 creatures.
I like the card as well. Sadly it doesn't synergize well with my favorite and what I believe to be the best pump spells we have, overloaded Dynacharge and Rubblebelt Maaka.

Would Dark Confidant still be good if he punched you in the face for 5 damage a turn?
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the warhound in the list. It's another 2 drop that's best as a 3 drop in a low land count deck. I think dyna charge would be better at 3 mana as it is a 1 drop in it's "weaker" casting.
You have 76% chance of hitting your first 2 land drops. Assauming that comes to pass, your opponent better have that removal spell at the ready.
Did a little testing with the deck, this is what happens the first game I play, pretty funny stuff, when I two for one my opponent he loses connection. I thought it was funny, it's a fun deck to play. http://imgur.com/6nOt0md
My limited testing has me really liking this deck. It's very all or nothing, but it's super explosive. Mulligan until you have 2 lands or 1 with multiple plays... go.
I did some testing today. Mulliganed twice in 15 hands. Won six of eight games against RW burn, which...well, is a good matchup. More testing tomorrow. Subjects: Black devo, monsters.

uhhmmmm with the lack of pump spells you're running, you might as well just run satyr firedrinker over Akroan crusader.
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Legion Loyalist
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Gore-House Chainwalker

also, rouse the mob and twin flame seem to support this arch type pretty well.
with mana confluence and shocks, we can even splash G and W for charms, Ghor clan, and removal.

pretty much my thoughts. Was there any worthwhile pump spells from journey?
