How are you supposed to beat the deck that uses unflinching courage, advent of the wurm, fleecemane lion and loxodon smiter with this? I lost 3 matches to it today and I'm salty.
You splash white for chains etc
Or black for the plethora of removals...
Simple mono-red not enough gas unless you can mogis for like 12.....twice....

Mono Red can do it if it switches to a more Midrange build to play the Control role post SB: Frostburn trades up, Mortars can take care of most of their creatures, Chandra gives you more draws or allows your burn to pull a little extra weight (Chandra + Strike to kill Smiter, + Mortars to kill Wurms, etc.), and Stormbreath Dragon is a ***** to damn near that whole deck. Either splashing Black or White for removal makes it significantly easier, though.
I don't think you'll have a lot of luck trying to out-Aggro them. GW's creatures outclass R's at nearly every point on the curve so trying to crash into their 4/4s and 5/5s with Shred-Freaks and Emissaries is not a winning game plan.

redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
So below is my list going into the BNG format. I think it is pretty solid, I really dig Satyr Firedancer, he is really good at cutting down dudes, especially with Searing Blood. The SB is in flux, it is pretty standard save for the lack of Peak Erruption, which is a card I am not very familiar with or whether it is needed or not. I really have not touched RDW in a while, but I think this is where I want to be. The extra BE might be a bit much, I am not sure what I want to switch it to though.
I can't swear to this since I don't intend to test the Firedancer, but I think if you're going to play it, you want a lot more burn - 8 spells isn't worth playing a 2cc 1/1 for. If you play a lot more burn, then I think it'd be stupid not to play Young Pyromancer because that's just too much value.
Also, at that point, I'd splash W because you def want Boros Charm.
Basically, I don't think Firedancer has a place in RDW - it should be played in PyroRed or Burn if anything... likely as a SB card against other creature decks. It's probably real good against something like GW.

The reason why I like the phoenix more than Fanatic at the 4cmc slot in RDW is that it doesn't require a boardstate to be useful.
Too often I finish the opponent before fanatic drops, or he drops and the board is empty.

That was a fun read Zem. RDW is kind of my toy right now and as I often say, I have not really gotten into RDW for blocks and blocks. For the first time since Demigod of Revenge and Magus of the Scroll, I am really digging RDW.
As for Satyr Firedancer, I wanted to give the guy a few days before I popped back in to say whether I took him out of the list or not. I am really digging this guy. Even with just 8 spells, a 2:1 ratio actually has not been playing that bad for me. I have primarily been playing him against WW, GW Aggro and Mono Blue Devotion and he has been straight up tits for me in those matches. I can see why though, creatures matter for this guy, Being bale to start forking Seering Blood in any of those matches and getting burn value to the face is just nuts.
I profess, the games I have been playing are probably not the majority of what the meta will look like. However the increase in people eyeing some sort of aggro deck with many of the new options and primarily Brimaz, leave me feeling comfortable about this card and certainly fuel my appeal for it. I have not really tried him in other configurations, that is next on my list for red. Anyways I thought I would pop in to give you a bit more insight on how I feel about the card and why. I could just be wrong still. The primary reason I added him was that I wanted a bigger Flames of the Firebrand effect and a bit of Fork action and Firefist Striker is admittedly not my favorite slot in the deck. Firedancer could still be launched off of a BTE and had some tricks of it's own to go with it.
RDW is my favorite deck, and the deck I am currently playing. Did we get anything from BNG besides Searing Blood? What is the best way to deal with Drown in Sorrow? Do I just hold back and play around it, or do use more Hammer of Purphoros or what?

RDW got the Phoenix as the final drop, that way you don't have to hesitate to attack into blockers to get the opponent low enough, because they have to answer the 4 drop now.

Mostly Searing Blood yes, I am not very big on the phoenix in the current meta.
Building a less explosive, more midrange deck is probably the best way to deal with the new removal cards.

I am running Legion's Initiative to counter drown in sorrow as well as give red +1/+0, counter a removal spell, and recurring Fanatic of Mogis.

For Black and Drown in Sorrow, I am enjoying Hammer of Purphoros and Act of Treason out of the board. They like to try and stick early demons, I may be doing this wrong, but I like to just go balls to the wall and let them DiS and finish them at the chopping block with Hammer, AoT and burn.
Great review Zem!
I want to believe in the new phoenix, so I might try to brew a heavy red deck with Chandra/hammer that plays the control role, where the haste from hammer alleviates the missing haste on the 5/5 putting the enemy in the position to give me card advantage by allowing the bird to go through. Might be a non-fanatic nykthos devotion red type of deck.

Searing Blood is the best damn card in the deck, period.
The manabase in this deck makes me cringe. How do you cast Boros Reckoner off of 16 Red sources? I think you'd be better off maindecking Pyromancer in Boros Reckoner's place. Either that or upping your Mountain count to ,at the very least, 18 Mountains.
Originally I had one Chandra in place of a reckoner, and I agree the manabase is greedy.
However, playing this I have found I was casting Reckoner late with no remorse as I was often getting great gains from one drops and removal, moreso than before because searing blood often put my opponent to 15 after allowing my dude(s) to get through.
I feel that mutavault may need to get cut down to three, maybe insert one chandra over a reckoner in the maindeck.
Man I do not like the font in the new chatbox for some reason. It seems to be different than the font posted

What about Burning Tree? My build has two muta 18 mount, and chandra at 3 with 8 burn. I'm probably gonna move bte to two, and add two searing, I'm just worried about Fanantic's devotion
I think people are going to aim their removal at Firedancer early, therefore I do not want to overextend with BTE.
That card just.... it is a high variance card and I do not like running it unless I need more mana fixing right now.

I am considering thunderous might to replace madcapskills.
1st turn - land, cackler
2nd turn - land, bte, bte, bte, bte, thunderous might, swing for 12.
3rd turn - auto win if there's no drown in sorrow or anger of the gods.
what do you think?feel free to bash my idea.
Magical christmasland thinking does not a deck make. Madcap + Cackler commits two cards to the board for 5 damage, which is all the pressure you'll need for turn two play.
With that being said, there may be situations where Thunderous Might could be useful, like on an Ash Zealot or Boros Reckoner to power through opposing monsters, but that's fairly niche since those cards are good on their own.
