Howdy! As you might have noticed, a part of the Standard forum is called "Competitive". This forum, while readable by all, requires you to be a member of the Standard Competitive usergroup to be able to post.
Now, there are some things you should know. This is a forum that is dedicated to Competitive players. What constitutes as a Competitive player: that you are an experienced player who plays Magic tournaments seriously (either in Magic Online tournaments or in real life events such as PTQs, StarCityGames Opens, Grand Prix), or follows such events closely. If you are not a Competitive player, you are best served to enjoy the other parts of the Standard forum instead.
In the Competitive forum, there are a few additional rules that will be enforced:
Budget discussion is strictly forbidden. If you are short cards for a deck, for discussion's sake, you are to pretend like you have the cards in question. The thing is, budget discussion is not at all relevant to strategy, it is an outside factor. In fact, budget talk actively hampers Competitive discussion, since the objective is to come up with the best possible deck. Budget discussion is, for this forum, defined as any card availability issues whatsoever, regardless of the value of the rest of the deck in question (if applicable).
No netdecking complaints. Creativity is cool, but the #1 objective is to do well in tournaments.
The Competitive Forum Rules can be reviewed in full here. If you intend to become a member of the Standard Competitive usergroup, please read them.
If you have been found to violate the Competitive Forum rules, or if the Standard Competitive usergroup leaders for some reason decide that you're not suited for the Competitive forums, you may be removed from the usergroup. Users that have been removed from the Standard Competitive Forums Poster usergroup may not re-apply for membership until some time has passed.
If you've been removed one time, you must wait for 3 months until you can re-apply.
If you've been removed two times, you must wait for 6 months until you can re-apply.
If you've been removed three times, you cannot re-apply anymore.
So, to apply for membership, this is what you have to do:
Send a private message to one of the Standard Moderators (lugger or rujasu).
In the private message, you must write: "I have read the Competitive forum rules, I am a competitive player, I want to post".
If you do this, you will be accepted to the Standard Competitive Member usergroup.
If you have questions, concerns or comments regarding these rules, or anything related to how the Standard forum is run, please post them in the "Open Discussion on Standard Forum Rules, Policy and Setup"-thread, or message them to one of the Standard Forum moderators.
