So I was going through some gatecrash cards today and saw a ton of really awesome battalion cards, was just curious if anyone was running sublime archangel in them and what your boros decks looked/played like.
I don't think sublime sees a lot of play because people like restoration angel and hellrider better. Frontline medic and boros elite are used a lot in naya human lists because of their battalion triggers.
frontline medic is really the best battalion mechanic around. Boros elite is just played as the next best white 1-drop besides champion of the parish.
sublime archangel probably won't see play as long as azorius charm, ultimate price, searing spear, etc. are widely played. And yea, exalted and battalion don't really go together well.
Look in the established competitive section under r/x aggro. There's tons of great information in there for boros decks.

Big thanks to DarkNightCavalier from heroes of the planes studios for the sig!
Sublime Archangel with Battalion mechanic is the most anti-synergistic thing possible.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Check out the R/x Aggro thread under the established competitive section. Those guys have been testing and developing variants of boros since before Gatecrash came out.
Sublime Archangel with Battalion mechanic is the most anti-synergetic thing possible.
It's not even close to the most anti-synergetic thing possible. For example, playing Unburial Rites with Rest In Peace is far, far less synergetic. Exalted/Sublime Archangel and Battalion are just two good mechanics/cards that can't simultaneously empower each other. Unburial Rites with Rest In Peace is playing a deck with a card that kills the deck. Unburial Rites/Rest In Peace is leagues and leagues ahead in terms of anti-synergy than Sublime Archangel and Battalion. And that's just one example. Granted, there may not be great synergy, but it's not even close to the most anti-synergetic thing possible.
That said, while there isn't that much synergy between Sublime Archangel and Battalion, it does give you options. There are times when you want to boldly rush your opponent with everything to trigger your Battalions, and times when you'd prefer to just send one massive creature with evasion at them.

Unburial Rites and Rest In Peace aren't even the most anti-synergetic combo. At least you can wait until you cast all your Unburial Rites and then cast Rest In Peace. The most anti-synergetic combo is playing a mountain with 59 other mountains. Something about marginal utility I think.
