I've had a neat little idea in mind and wanted to get some input. I love Champion of Lambholt and I was thinking of some cool ways to abuse her in a GB deck. Here's a neat little combo I'm thinking of and I was hoping to get some advice as to how to potentially make it somewhat competitive.
I'm a little slow, so you'll have to explain to me turn by turn how exactly this "abuses" Champion. Don't get me wrong, I love the card and have used him effectively in the past, but I'm just not seeing the abuse here.
Would trigger pretty hard if Corpsejack Menace is out, but after explaining my thoughts... it blows your whole hand and doesn't even deal lethal damage. Eh... I dunno, it seems really neat and I so badly want it to be an awesome combo, but I'm not sure if it's going to work out.
That is unless it was played slower and stacked some things like Tragic Slip and Abrupt Decay to help keep the board controlled until the combos can start rolling.

Wonderful. Magical Christmas land and that's the best you can come up with.

pretty unfair to say this and when they answer say that they are "living the dream"
with that said
one thing all standard playable creatures have in common:
they do something as soon as they hit the board
this guy doesn't do it, so not only is he a poor target for abuse, he's pretty much unplayable

No thanks. I'll pass.
Totally unnecessary to be rude like that... at least be constructive like the other people that posted.
I do agree that these combos that I'm talking about are much too slow and instead of focusing all of the cards in the deck towards comboing up Champion of Lambholt, I like the idea of using her in combination with Gravecrawler and Bloodflow Connoisseur as a sac outlet in a BG Zombie/Undying Deck. Maybe throw in Hunger of the Howlpack.

Sorry, I'm having a bad day. Just parted with a set of Ronin Warriors for 200 bucks. That's what happens when your Magic addiction costs you more than you have.
Constructively, it takes so long and so many cards for this to work, and the end result is so, um, so-so, I don't see the point in using all those resources when there has to be something better that you can do with them.
Champion doesn't need all that to be effective. As a matter of fact you don't want it to get big because it becomes too much of a target and gets removed before it does what you want it to do and that is enable alpha strikes for the win.
You put her in your aggro/midrange deck and play normally, and use a pump spell on her when you want to alpha strike. Note: don't be a tool and run out a pump spell with no protection for her.
That rampager/simic charm is going to make a lot of people cry when hooked up to her for the alpha strike win.
I see... so the best way to use her is with more of an instant pump as opposed to really pumping her up only to have her bounce/destroyed etc. She really needs protection of sorts... Really what I'm starting to see is you don't want to really abuse her per say, but rather use her as more of a utility than a centerpiece
I have always liked this card, and I've been trying to fit her in decks since AVR, but she just dies so easily to almost anything. Ultimate Price, tragic slip, abrupt decay, dreadbore, any exile effect. A creature that you build a deck around needs to have some resiliency or protection, and she doesn't. When it works, its awesome, but the majority of the time she's going to get removed (when the opponent feels you've dumped enough into building her up) and all the time and card slots invested will be wasted. Just my two cents.
I've used him in a mono-green deck using strangleroot geist, wild beastmaster, predator ooze, and a bunch of mana dorks with rancor to some success. The deck didn't really "abuse" him persay, but him and beastmaster combo nicely with rancor and random pump spells.
The biggest problem the deck had was dealing with fliers, although you can correct that somewhat with plummet and silklash spider out of the board.

Big thanks to DarkNightCavalier from heroes of the planes studios for the sig!
shes good, but probably not the best in a world of azorious charms. i ran her to a 53rd or so place finish at a scg soon after AVR release in a g/w human shell and she was great then, but then again i didnt play against a single delver deck.
Just run it with other good cards. The card is decent by itself, however, it lends you to overextend. Really, it doesn't need a ton more to make it good because the main thing you don't want is to have some Spirits chump everything you love, and Champion does it the turn after he comes out.
I've been playing a sort of Mono-Green Flash deck that maindecks 4 along with 4 Wild Beastmaster and 8 mana dorks. Champion/WBM on turn 2 followed by a miracled Revenge/Blessing or Increasing Savagery or Geist with Ambush Viper ready to fly then turn 4 Revenge/Blessing or Wolfir Silverheart or Increasing Savagery or Geist with Avenger ready to fly.
Sick deck that has huge variance. You'll lose more to drawing four land than you'll win, but when you win it tends to be sweet.
Don't forget that you dont need Champion attacking to get the benefit of her abilities. T4 (or earlier with ramp) Champion + Giant Growth can really surprise someone.
Two words. Wild. Defiance. Evades burn, makes simic charm even tastier when you make your guys hexproof after they just pumped it up for you. Evades slip. Value out of any pump spell. I played it in gu delver humans. Trade counterspells for pump spells, you get a really fun deck. Plenty of spells to give hexproof with, runs mayors and pikes, champion for a finisher to alpha. One pump spell on her turns into madness with defiance
Realistically he should only be unblockable without equipment
Guard 1: There goes a sword floating down the street!
Guard 2: Well, he's unblockable, so ignore it.
Eat your greens kids, omnath does, and it makes him strong....
now i could just be spitballing a little, and it may not quite fit entirely, but why not throw Jarad into the mix as long as youre playing GB sac? (effectively speaking)
I put my Selective Memory under my pillow when I go to bed every night.Rumor has it that if you were a good boy,the Unlimited Budget Faerie will come to your house while you're asleep and replace it with a real Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
Sadly it seems I haven't been a very good boy...
I've tried so hard to break this Champion with no luck. Perhaps Increasing Savagery.dec will work with her, Gyre Sage and Fathom Mage in an all-green deck? Let' see...
T1: Forest, Arbor Elf
T2: Forest, Gyre Sage
T3: Forest, Increasing Savagery on the Gyre Sage, play Champion of Lambholdt.
T4: Forest, Flashback Increasing Savagery on Champion of Lambholdt, swing for... 11?
T5: Play something with the huge amount of mana you have.
Ok, it's kitchen table... but a fun kitchen table deck at least
Champion of Lambholt
+
Fungal Sprouting
effectively doubling the champion's P/T
+
Bloodflow Connoisseur
sac all of the tokens to pump her
+
Blood Artist
Potentially Throw a Corpsejack Menace in there and you've got quite the powerhouse. I'm thinking Strangleroot Geist and Tragic Slip would make some good additions in here too.
Let me know what you all think!
Thanks!
So walk me through it turn by turn.
Heck, even rancor would work nicely prior to sprouting.
t1: Forest, Arbor Elf
t2: Swamp, Champion of Lambholt
t3: Land, Arbor Elf, Bloodflow Connoisseur Champion is a 3/3
t4: Land, Blood Artist (Champion 4/4), Fungal Sprouting for 4 Saprolings, Champion is an 8/8, Sacrifice all saprolings to Bloodflow Connoisseur, Blood Artist deals 4 and heals 4.
Champion is an 8/8 and Bloodflow is a 5/5.

Pretty magical christmasland but certainly not impossible in a straight up humans deck.
MTGS egos at their finest.
Thoughts on proxies:
you an also support here with riders of gavony and you ccan have some more alpha strike madness nonsense
pretty funny deck, i've been playing it for a while on mtgo
