But the walkers are what keeps us in the game. What do you get that keeps you going if youplay the black? UWC?
This plays likea combo deck and the red walkers ether A. ramp you(xenagos) or B. give you CA + removal(domri)
Read the bones draws you up to 4 cards deeper and allows you to keep shrine or garruk key cards to this combo strategy deck as early as turn 2. Domri draws 1 deeper maybe and even then chances are high it will be a mana dork. Adding black gives us selective vard advantage. Also answers to nightveil, pack rat, desecration demon, boros reckoner, ghost council, detention sphere, underworld connections and more. Most can be dealt with by 1 card abrupt decay.
We have to ask ourselves what is the goal of this deck? Played as a combo deck it is to get garruk and shrine into play and overwhelm the opponent with large creatures. How does.domri help us to achieve this goal? He can not help us find or play either of are combo parts. Turn 3 is a big turn for this deck would I rather play domri and look for a creature (not going to be fighting anything at this stage with only mana dorks and emissary) or would I rather be casting read the bones looking for garrul or nykthos so I can get my combo online turn 4. Is domri really worth more than best all around removal spell abrupt decay, good card selection read bones, verdict and weenie protection golgari charm?

Would Dark Confidant still be good if he punched you in the face for 5 damage a turn?

in truth, it depends on the meta, but yes, I think he is better.
He thins your deck 50% of the time by grabbing a creature off the top (which helps get to nykthos or garruk faster) serves as removal for pesky early creatures like pack rat, ans provides a threat all his own with his -7, that requires our opponents to devote resources to getting rid of him. In 1 card, Domri gets us closer to our combo, and provides us time to get going by diverting resources...
Read the bones is great... but the loss of life is very relevant, especially against aggro. I'm not dismissing the deck.. in fact, like I said, i'm currently testing it myself. But I am not sure that black is better.

I think Domri is dood don't get me wrong, but in RG monsters not so much here where 50% is not that great and like I said before chances are higher it will just be another mana producer. As for fight mecanic Abrupt Decay takes care those and adds versatility replacing xenogos which is weakerin my opinion. I would be interested to see your deck list.

What fears the opponent the most about Domri is his ultimate. His +1 is an added advantage if able to fetch a creature but still at 50-50 rate, but often to be use is his -2 in this devotion as we have no removal in MB. The fact that one permanent card to be a more or less equivalent to two spells seems like something to be considered. Domri kills most creatures as often we have the biggest creatures in play, but with black, you need at least 2 different removals to serve the same purpose.
I'm not saying one deck is better than the other. Each have their pros and cons. By splashing black, you'll have the access to Lotleth Troll, Reaper of the Wilds, Corpsejack Menace to combo with Kalonian Hydra, and of course, Desecration Demon. It's a no joke deck either. But in my opinion, if I were to gain access to another colour, it would be blue. Prophet of Kruphix allows you to play creatures all the time and Prime Speaker Zegana refills hand like nobody's business is what G/x devotion is all about.

Red is fastest. Blue gains better late game and better answeres to problems if big creatures isn't going to win. White and black just don't add much...
I have been going between bant and UG and never looked back at red.... That being said black is the last color you care about... What on earth do you need to abrupt decay that polucronos can't just step on... D-sphear? Just play another poly.... I mean I would rather draw 2 large creatures then hoping abrupt decay matters...
Abrupt decy also takes care of pack rat, uwc, nightveil specter, boros reckoner, tidebinder mage, and as you mentioned detention sphere. But you also gain dark betryal in the board for demon and obzedat. Dont know about your meta but these cards see alot of play where im from.
