I think this card is just win more. I pulled one and I'm going to trade it away shortly. The only card I want to spend 6 mana on in standard is Sovereigns of Lost Alara, because it wins the game immediately. The card does do a heck of a lot for 6 mana, but none of it is immediately useful and the decks that can take advantage of it are clunky. On the off chance I'm wrong about this card, which is possible, I doubt I would regret trading it. If this card finds a home it's going to only be in 1 deck that is very specific. This isn't a card like Vengevine that goes into every deck that runs green.
players like you crack me up. something isnt good enough until u see people win with it.
It costs 6 mana...in a color that loves to ramp. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

I do think he is good, but not $40 good... He can't fit into *every* deck running green like Jace to blue or vengevine to green.
I hope he drops to lotus cobra prices pretty soon.

All of the stores are just cashing in on Nationals right now. Primeval Titan isn't worth anywhere near the price stores are asking, but unfortunately people will pay it because they need the cards. It'll drop down to $15-20 within a month or two.

Most explosive play from Turboland:
Turn 1
Lay forest, play Joraga Treespeaker
Turn 2
Lay Forest, level Treespeaker and tap for two, play Lotus Cobra
Turn 3
Lay Misty Rainforest, crack for Forest (Cobra @ 2), tap Treespeaker for 2, tap 6 for Primeval Titan grabbing two Eldrazi Temples (1 mana is still left over for Autum's Veil if your opponent tries to play Mana Leak)
Turn 4
Attack with Titan to grab an Eye of Ugin and some other land (won't matter because it comes in tapped and Cobra mana will empty after attack phase)
Lay your fetch land for the turn and crack for 2 mana from the cobra, tap 2 from the Treespeaker, tap the Temples for 4 mana, tap one more land for an Ulamog with enough mana open to stop a Mana Leak.
In Magical Christmas Land you'll pull something like that off, but hey... that just shows the pure explosiveness of the deck, not practicality.
Then in Magical Christmas Land you also put down a turn 5 Emrakul...
The ability to fetch any land makes the titan shine. The way I see it is he primarily fetches any number of Eldrazi Temples/Eye of Ugin and is a 6/6 body that needs to be dealt with. His CITP ability makes him powerful and casting him just for it is often quite beneficial regardless of how long the titan lives. Any attacking done is just a bonus, as a free Explosive Vegetation type effect is great, plus they have 6 points of damage coming at them. I personally like the card, it's been strong in the U/G Eldrazi ramp deck I've been testing, and simply fetching two Temples or an Eye of Ugin is enough to put you in an extremely favorable position versus your opponent, who now has to deal with Primeval Titan and any subsequent Eldrazi casted off the back of his ability. Sure, I'm speaking totally in regards to him being played in an Eldrazi driven deck, but that's the only place I've tried him and he's been really strong so far.
The card will probably see play at Nats and if he's a hit expect to see a lot of him in the future, but if not I think people will still attempt to put him to good use, so expect to see a lot of him. Personally I like the card a lot flavor-wise so I'm a bit biased, but we'll see where the Titan has a place in the coming months, just keep testing him out.
The acceleration in standard is quite impressive, I could see kozi being easy to cast w/ G/x ramp but I doubt Emrakul will hit the field outside of polymorph.
its an awesome card that has access to one of the most accomplished group of lands magic has seen in standard.
It definitely sticking.
6/6 trample for 6 isnt bad on it's own, + deck filtering and continued ramp? gg. An impressive beast indeed. warrants removal the second it hits.
Sejiri steppe = good times.
Cobra was too fragile. that was it's true issue.

~Intelligence is Bliss; Ignorance is Denial.
Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.
Sure, it's nice to hear you'll be playing turn 5 emrakul if the opponent doesn't do a thing. Too bad Mythic Conscription will be hitting you for 14 damage turn 3.
T1
Forest/fetchland, Noble
T2
Lotus Cobra, Fetchland, Knight of the Reliquary
T3
You get 3 mana from 2x land and 1 noble. You can play fetchland to get to 6 mana and play sovereigns, then maybe attack with reliquary for 17 damage. (5/5 reliquary, 2x exalted bonus and +10 conscription) Otherwise you can just play a basic land and then "fetch" a land with Knight of the Reliquary, play sovereigns and attack with lotus cobra for 14.
I don't intend to brag or anything, the only thing I'm trying to say is that turn 5 emrakul can be way too late on many levels and isn't that strong play.
using a ridiculously rare occurrence to dictate the power level of this ramps play is silly. sure with a perfect hand and a perfect draw you can get the mythic deck rolling like that but we are looking at consistency w/ this card in a ramp deck. t4 primeval titan is easily achievable in this standard.
I see it being amazing in Eldrazi ramp, other than that I'm kind of skeptical. It's a ramp card you have to ramp into. It's strong, but outside of Eldrazi I'm concerned that to consistently drop him before turn 5 you're going to have a deck with a lot of ramp that ends up being dead draws after you play him.

I think Machahiko has a pretty good point here, in the current standard is turn 4 really when you wanna start not losing the game?
The most practical application of this card might not even be to get eldrazi out but to ramp you into iona mana anyway, thoughts?
I think primeval is going to be pretty nuts. If you lay him with a cobra out you can get 2 fetches and then play another 6 drop.
Turn 1 birds/jorgas treekeeper
Turn 2 cobra + birds/level treekeeper
Turn 3 - land + cobra + 2xBirds/treekeeper = 6 mana > play primeval titan for 2 fetch lands, pop fetch lands (4 mana), use the 2 lands > play grave titan
Turn 4 - attacking with 2 titans and 2 zombies getting more lands
kind of nuts.
or
turn 1 birds
turn 2 cobra
turn 3 ob nixilis
turn 4 primeval titan for 2 fetch lands -> 5 landfalls for that turn = 15 life from ob nixilis passive then attack for 18.

Mythic could pull that off every single game and hard-casting Emrakul, the Aeons Torn on turn 5 would still be a strong play. It may be too late in some matches... but it is still a strong play.
Why do people keep playing Theorymagic? This is EXACTLY why Lotus Cobra was a $35 card during Zendikar presales... people keep speculating all of these ridiculous blowout scenarios that don't happen as consistently as you think. Especially when you actually don't goldfish and your opponent is packing countermagic, or burn, or pretty much any sort of answer or counterthreat.

The decks I've tested with and seen being tested are quite good. All is Dust, DoJ, a good stockpile of lifegainlands, they can manage their aggro matchups while still being pretty solid against Control. I wouldn't just make the assumption it's all hype, there's a difference between a 2/1 that gives mana off landfall and a 6/6 that gets any two nonbasics out of your library.
As an aside, getting 2 Tec Edges out of your library and sending your opponent from 4->1 (if one is already in play) is pretty goddamn backbreaking..

LOL. Have you played against P. Titan? He's insane.
And Eldrazi ARE competitive, right now. It's called Monowhite Eldrazi. And the UW version I'm running now has counters, and can go head-to-head with basically any T1 build, including Jund.
A GW Eldrazi build won first place in a 90-man master tournament on magic-league, beating Jund, UW control, and so on.

I never said Primeval Titan is a bad card. People just seem to have a short memory when they were constantly concocting their god-draw Magical Christmasland scenarios of Lotus Cobra pounding out late game bombs by turn 3, and they're applying it the same way by constantly goldfishing turn 3-4 Primeval Titan like it's always going to happen and then weigh their opinion on the card based on those scenarios.
Except you can't use TE if they don't have 4 lands.
You can respond with your other TE's while it's still on the stack, it doesn't check if they still have four lands in play when the ability resolves. If they happen to have four nonbasics in play to your four Tec Edges, you can actually take out all four of their lands.
