MTG Salvation

Combination deck of RDW, B/R Vampires(Spells+Gatekeeper), and then of course some very new cards with our main focus around Sarkhan the Mad.

Ive only test played it a few times so far but will be testing this extensively along side of my other deck. So far, Sarkhan seems better than expected by using his ability on ANY of these creatures AFTER they have done their initial job(Ability). This is extremely effective on the 6 unearther's. Cast attack. Unearth when Sarkhan is ready, attack if able to deal viable damage then pop for a 5/5 Dragon or just pop for a 5/5 dragon if they cant get damage in.

Test play it and give me some feed back. My sideboard is thrown together and I'm sure it will need a TON of reworking.

The only thing i can think of is maybe earthquake? i mean they suck with bituminous, but without sarkhan your board presence isnt that strong. so taking out their stronger board presence could be good. Oh i see it is in your sideboard. Is the deck designed to be really fast or slower? Cause i see hellspark elemental and hell's thunder and then consuming vapors. It looks strong but im not sure of the decks game plan.

The games I have played it I won around turn 7-8. So it is more mid range for victory purposes but is effective in the early game and keeping the opponent low on board presence.

Where is Bloodghast? He has amazing synergy with sarkhan and is a good early beater

I have been real down on bloodghast lately just because white is becoming even more played with Omens, Gideon, and of course Path and ORing I just decided to go with creatures with abilities like Goblin Ruinblaster or the unearther's so I can possibly blow up a land or land some damage in hastely.

Why no Kargan Dragonlord ? He seems like he has some good synergy with Sarkhan.

Any thoughts on adding something to gain life with? Basalisk Collar comes to mind to let you stabilize. It's also another low CC card that will allow you to get more cards off 1 Sarkhan if you hit it with his +0 ability.

I'm also not sure how good Bit Blast will be for you. All things considered, your odds of hitting something like hellspark or hells thunder are pretty high. I would remove these and maindeck your earthquakes.

You need Doomblade in the SB to get around Kor Firewalker.

Excellent call on Doom Blade. Firewalker is a nightmare.

Kargan though? He is a human warrior, not dragon.

D'oh! I thought that, with a name like Kargan DRAGONlord, he would have dragon somewhere in his creature type. He can join Steve Buscemi in the wood chipper.

I chose to go with Sarkhan too, but on more of a control kind of thing. Right now it's not that good with Jund being far faster, but once Jund rotates, I think this deck will find a good home.

I used Pawn of Ulamog, Tuktok, Abyssal Persecutors and Bloodthrone vampire. Along with Sarkhan the Mad, I have 7 ways to sacrifice. When I do sacrifice, I usually end up with a few Eldrazi spawn. When Sarkhan the Mad comes out, he usually has at least one token to sacrifice for a 5/5 dragon.

I also have Bloodghasts in the deck which is usually only for sacrificial purposes. He usually gets dumped with Thought Gorger. I prefer having a sacrificing permanent in case someone has a path to exile. It usually drops any dead cards I may have (Bloodghasts, extra Sarkhan or Act of Treasons I don't need) and gives me a fatty creature in the process.

Yeah my BW deck runs Gorger, hes fun. I just think the RDW unearther's are best for this deck right now. Especially Hell's Thunder since it has flying.

The Pawn of Ulamog/Bloodghast/Bloodthrone Vampire synergy is hilarious. I've been playing a vamps build and a BW Ranger of Eos/Stonforge Mystic build with these cards and blade of the bloodchief. Pawn + Bloodthrone = +4/+4 for each creature. If you have blade of the bloodcheif it becomes +8/+8 for each. Bloodghast makes it even sillier. You win with a 25/25 Bloodthrone out of nowhere... probably not gonna make noise but so much fun!

Isn't that to slow to setup to be competitive though? Trust me I used to try blade of the bloodchief with Aristocrat and it just was to obvious and slow to get done imo.

Ok, these lists are all missing some very important things that NEED to be run with Sarkhan the Mad. This is my list. I hope the card choices are obvious enough.

The deck is pretty fun. Not T1 material, but entertaining none the less.

I love me some Act of Treason, Mark of Mutiny, and Bazaar Trade but that is why this deck isnt T1. Those cards are just situational and dead to many times. I use to run Act of Treason with Bone Splinters for a pow pow but was to much of a side thing that just wasn't consistent.

This was my version, it seems people have dismissed it in the past but it is a good build that utilises some of the best from RbDW and Blood-Quake to feed Sarkhan the Mads lust for war

This doesnt look bad without play testing it. I would suggest the 4th sign in blood though to help draw to our small amount of creatures in the deck. I am not sold on Staggershock yet, even tho, I think it would be pretty good vs Naya early game and planeswalkers. Just unsure yet in the new meta if 2 damage twice is going to be effective vs creatures without those creatures being spawn.
