I'm not sure about the singleton copy of day of judgement... it seems lost. If you are playig against a deck that forces u to play it, then you should be running 3 more in your sb... maybe replace it with martial coup???
or even martial's anthem as a second source of returning guys from the yard.
Otherwise I really like the deck a alot! it looks like it curves well, and has just enough disruption to toss off your opponent. Not sure how it will do vs jund, you might need to sb path exile rather than some of the traps... although WWK is new and you wanna use it, you still have to inculde the better cards, and path is better than both traps.
The Day was actually a floating slot during testing, and I mostly came up with wanting that. The other 2 options I had there was Brave the Elements andIdentity Crisis. I also testedSorin Markov a bit, but the curve got a bit to large. In the end, I really wanted to have that 9th removal spell for end game Abyssal, as well has having a board sweeper against faster aggro decks. Still needs testing tho!
Path to Exile is a 4 of in the main board. The sideboard does need a bit of work tho. I don't think I really need the Collar since I have 8 creatures with lifelink as it is, and 4 creatures that mostly kill themselves.
You do not run enough ways to get rid of your own Persecutor. Gatekeeper of Malakir is a must. You should also consider Everflowing Chalice to accelerate into 3rd turn Persecutor, 4th turn Baneslayer.

"Psychologically, you have to have confidence in yourself and this confidence should be based on fact." -- Bobby Fischer
This is the last iteration of the deck before Worldwake is legal. Used it in an FMN went 3-1. Lost to god cascades from my first jund match and missed top 4 by tie breaks. Really you get terminate off 2 bloodbraid elfs and the bolt off of a Bituminous Blast to kill my baneslayers. If he hit one creature or even a blighting I would of won, the game i wasnt stuck at three lands. But oh well, things like that have happened so often I cant stay mad long.
I really liked the Sphinx of lost truths in the deck. It is great when you bin Bloodghast's, but even if you dont it helps with your hand quality. In a week I will post what the deck will look like post worldwake. The new title may of alluded to an inclusion.
Here is the deck list that I have come up with. I tried to run B/W when zendikar came out, but it seemed like it was lacking a bit. Abyssal Persecutor is the card that it was lacking. Now here is the deck list, and I think it looks very strong. The curve for this deck is also very nice, you can go literally 1-2-3-4-5 for mana wise spells.
The Paths and bonesplinters are there for removal, which can be used on either your persecutor once they are below 0 health, or your opponents creatures. Bonesplinters is exceptionally nice for killing him as saccing a creature is an additional cost to play it, so even if it is countered, he still dies and you win.
Elspeth, Knight-Errant is there to be antoher threat or pump a nighthawk etc. To become an even bigger threat.
Duress is a card that I like very much here. It is our 1 drop and can get rid of removal for your persecutor.
Tidehollow Sculler Can help you get rid of more of there removal, and if they have more then one removal card in hand, it will absorb one to get there other back.
Bloodghast Early beater that keeps on coming back. I would like to possibly find a different card to put here or cut him all together, but we will see.
Vampire Nighthawk He is a very nice drop for 3. He adds that layer of flying protection as well as lifelink.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. I want to have this deck ready to go for when worldwake hits. I have not worked on a sideboard yet, but would like some reccomendations or thoughts towards one. Thanks!
I would run day of judgment over Bone splinters. Splinters is kinda bad, where DoJ can allow you to drop multiple Persecutors. I would also add in sign in bloods and grim discoveries (meaning adding things like gargoyle castle). You need all the CA you can get.
This is the build I was working on. I've tested it against Jund, and it doesn't have that much trouble keeping up to their CA and sticking an Angel or Demon. Next week I'll start taking it to tournies, but for now I'm just testing against people that generally play well.
Well, ZP isnt what it used to be. It was custom made for B/W tokens to go up against other token decks, but those don't exist so much anymore. Anyhow, smothers arent bad, they are good to have against Red decks and other fast aggro. The only thing I can think of to replace them with is maybe Fleshbag, just to have another removal outlet.
Oh yeah, was going to add the ZPs in the side for Boros.
Also, might want to try Harms Way. I'm going to test a couple later. They are good against aggro decks, and late game you can combo them with Nighthawk for removal.

I like this a lot! I would probably switch Duress to MD for Smother, and SB a split of Smother and Deathmark. I'd also add 1-2 Elspeth, and -1 or 2 Gargoyle Castle, because of the amount of colored mana you need.
Tested quite a bit, very solid against jund, Jacerator is just a very, very long match-up. Very long. Trouble with boros, can be to fast, just depends on how much removal you get. Tested Basalisk collar already, seemed very good but what ever I cut just hurt me as much as the collar helped. Tried nighthawk a few times, was very solid. Also tried Urge to feed in place of Bloodghast and threw bloodghast in the board instead of Anowon, The Ruin Sage and Marshal's Anthem , but both of those cards are just great to board in, in certian match ups.
Current Recored
Jund
39-14
Boros
18-10
Jacerator
5-1
(I couldn't stand playing it anymore, its just forever, you usually win though ,hexmages prevent sunspring, duress rips their hand apart and bloodghast just comes back, again, and again and agian.)
Grixis
10-5
Very Fun Game.
All the testing I've been able to do, any advice or insight would be great.
Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
Yeah... 18-10 against Boros? Sorry, either your opponent was a noob or he had a very bad Boros.
P.S. you are running 23 lands, you should have 24-25
I haven't had a problem hitting my curve very often at all. To be fair, against boros was when I tested Urge instead of Bloodghast, I had insane amounts of removal for him. He just couldn't hit for about anything. I could see bumping it to 24 instead, I have a had a few games where I get stuck on 4 and its pretty crappy then.
Looks fun, although the amount of mana symbols makes me wonder how often you don't have sufficient mana to cast your spells. As for the record, it seems very impressive - a little too impressive in fact. The best decks in the world rarely break the 60% barrier, so a win ratio of 71% means that you have probably not been playing equally skilled players; which in terms could end up making the numbers misguiding. Further information on data gathering methods would be appreciated.
I took the liberty of expanding on the DECK tags a bit. Should be displayed more correctly below.
I've only tested against a handful of players, I don't like using proxies outside of my playgroup but I've got the deck finished off now and at my stores release this week I fully intend to test it against some much better players.

Maybe i'm just blind, but I don't see the Nighthawk anywhere... Perhaps in the place og bloodghast? If i'm wrong and it's there, i'll just finish by saying: Reading is tech.

The awesome-est MTG webcomic out there. Go check it out!
I just put duress in the sb because I find it to be a bad topdeck in late game against aggro decks.
Yes, maybe you're right. I would maybe add 4 Fleshbag Marauder instead of Smother (which I think belongs in the SB, along with Deathmark), so you have more removal, and another way of removing your Persecutor when the time comes.
I am playing a similar deck and I have to say that my test results are also quite impressive. However I haven't play as many as you did.
But I question a lot the curve of your deck, in particular related to the creatures' CMC. Bloodghast does not fit in there and Vampire Nighthawck is a must-include.
Bloodghast is always my iffy spot, Its always the card I drop to try other cards. I think Nighthawk will replace him permanently (hes gonna be in the board though) and I'm gonna drop something for a 24th land.

I don't know if there is a thread like this lingering somewhere but I have an idea combining some of the big nasty bomb cards along with removal and disruption into one deck. My numbers are a little off right now but I am planning on perfecting this deck. Any constructive critique welcomed.
My sideboard is kinda shaky at the moment but I plan to tweak it once the meta gets more fleshed out. my manabase is kinda bland right now too but maybe I can throw in some other fetches or terramorphics in to help with the deck thinning.
The main purpose of the deck is to rip your hand apart as fast as possible coupled with removal and follow through with bomb after bomb to beat your opponents' faces in.
too many 3 of's I think. I would drop things like Mind shatter and crisis from the main and up other things to 4. You dont need that much discard, because it will be dead against aggro mid-late game. I would also drop 2 plains and 2 swamps for 4 arcane sanctum to smooth your manabase.

I don't want to push beyond 9 removal spells tho, it would be too much. And testing it, the way it works is perfectly balance of it.

I like the idea of abbysal persecutor but you definitely need to run more than 4 removal spells if you want him to do what we are hoping he will.

LOL
The mods keep changing the title of the thread; it was orginally esper midrange but they merged it with the B/W and renamed it.
