great deck idea .. i've been playtesting a UR build and it has constant wins over most MUs. I do think that double negative is a great SB card vs jund aggro which i think will start getting more and more popular (if it isnt so already)
Well, you've managed to peek my interest. I'm going to proxy up MDU's version because I really like silence. I should also note that you are missing 2 lands from you deck, I count only 22.

Agreed. I am currently running U/R, but perhaps teh white splash might be justified.
Well, I only got to play a few games. I beat U/R control thanks to silence and counters. I also played against MBC winning 2 out 3 games. Duress hurts, alot. I do like how the deck essentially cycles with clashing, ponder, etc. There were a couple of games that sucked because I wasn't drawing anything useful. I think you should keep the hallowed burial, or at least sideboard. Sometimes you need that topdeck to clear the board because fallout isn't enough. I might tryout the U/R version, see how that plays different for me.
Ok....i have been extensively play testing both the U/R, and MDU's version..the U/R was a bit strange....i played against RDW and got annihilated...badly...i won 2 out of 11 games, on the other hand, i walked all over kithkin, without flinching...
NOW, for mdu's version, i went 6-3. it still feels too slow...in your build, you had '24 lands', but it only added up to 22...so i added 2 mountains for the other 2 you did not list... the ONLY problem really, is that i seemed to keep getting land of the same color..like a fluke...anyways, i was thinking running 2 less cryptics in trade for either negates or essence scatter, or remove soul i suppose.....
i've only been playing MTG for a couple years so im not great by any means, and often need rule clarification for some finite stuff....so a better player could possibly do better than i
for all intensive purposes, i never did any sideboard, no matter what deck i played against, i jsut stuck with main deck, just to see how it levels off....
i was thinking the same thing...cryptics are way too slow...even though its amazing card.
edit: i mean....i understand the whole thesis of this deck is to just take minimal damage, but take damage, and let them do what they want, while keeping it under control just long enough to get prog out...but yeah////you see where im going with this...you can just run essence scatter, remove soul.....in place of the cryptic.
how is it too slow? cause you are always going to have polymorph in your hand? and you are always going to play it as soona s you can? you are never going to wait and try to force a counter player to counter something else? if this is drew.....stop playing this deck

The Tea Party is the working class fighting against the man fighting for the working class.
It's called EDH kids, there is no such thing as commander.
Thats about it, I think TurboFog is the only viable way this deck will be a competitive deck. I haven't play tested sidebored yet so i really dont no what that will be yet. ill post up my testing after this weekend.
on card choices:
cancel - because i wont invest in cryptics until the meta settles and the deck becomes competitive.
ghastly discovery - draw, and emergency discard if you draw into progenitus.
lightning bolt - takes out an early threat like leech/vanquisher/FOD/meadowgrain
puncture blast - takes out or neuters mid-late game threats.
negate - helps to power the combo through on turn 6, which is usually when you would really pull it off. Turn 4 maybe on game 1, but game 2-3 you need to assume that your opponent is not stupid.
springjack pasture - slow, but functions ok for chump blockers and your sacrificial lamb err..goat. Nothing like a goat polymorphing into a progenitus.
Sideboard could be an assortment of sweeps for tokens, Sleep, double negative, swerve for when the token is targeted for removal, or even better is Twincast. Twincasting your polymorph in response to removal lets the polymorph copy resolve before anything else.
Here's my 2 cents, good idea but if you are running vivids and reflecting pools have you considered splashing black for duress, also gives you access to tutor, though at double black most likely no. Still its a consideration as a duress to tell if the polymorph would resolve would go a long way.
I think you guys are focusing too much on counterspells which can't keep up with agro. I think you need to be able to fog continously until you get a polymorph.
I think cards like Repel Intruders are ideal for this deck. Martial coup also functions as a backup (albeit worse one) for token generation early and *** later if you haven't drawn a Polymorph.
I don't see enough reason to have red or black in this deck. I think U/W is the best option so far.

No more *** is the problem, though. Fog over counter-ing does make sense, though. There are plenty of good similar spells in White, though, any ideas on White/Green/Blue for this?

I have more proxies than real cards in most of my decks...yay grad school!
the best out in the Aggro match-up i find is a combination of Pyroclasm/Volcanic Fallout. It may seem like overkill, but running 8 after the sdieboard seems to help quite well.
Despite the troubles with the mana base post rotation, i am also leaning towards the WRU version, simply because TarmoAngel. Fogs seem best.
Has anyone considered running Darksteel Colossus yet? One of my friends built a Polymorph deck before it was standard legal, and what he did is he ran Angel of Despair, Bogardan Hellkite, and Darksteel Colossus. Now that Progenitus is here, I understand playing him, but polymorphing a Colossus is just cheese. Mmmm...cheese.

run 1 Darksteel Colossus and 2 Progenitus, colossus is still awesome in this deck and if they Thought Hemorrage your Progenitus i dont see this game Goblin Assaulting FTW
Okay, let's say you play polymorph then your opponent plays path to exile on that creature you're targeting, so the effect won't happen right? So is that the weakness of the deck? Cuz if it is, it's so easy to stop then.
ok...so after last nights FNM...i've figured out 2 things....the MDU version...is semi competitive....and there is more than one way to win with this....
i only won using progenitus twice all night...
i won 1 game off of straight up mutavaults, another game off of insane amount of tokens with double goblin assault and dragon fodders, another game by round time....BUT, im thinking white/blue is going to be better...
heres how i lost games last night
~time warp/twincast. TWICE IN A ROW...he was able to have 4 turns in a row...while i had progen on the table....it wanst pretty.
~super aggro...one loss was from a guy who constantly threw down putrid's.
~and a fluke loss, from someone who toss'd down a cryptic...i cryptic'd his cryptic, and he cryptic'd my cryptic....yes....3 cryptics played in one turn.
oh yeah...i SB'd in darksteel....and it was perfect...very late game...i poly'd into him, and he was bounced back to my hand the next turn///i was able to hard cast him...from so much mana. then i poly'd a token into proggy...so i had prog and darksteel down at the same time. sick.
anyways, it was tons of fun..ill still be making my soildier deck, but anyways...this deck can be way better...
also...dropping down a silence during after your untap step... is KEY late game to using poly...cause medline mage almost pwnd my face...silence. vol. fallout, activate mutavult. poly. win.
on a side note~ i was able to get poly out twice on turn 4. (turn 3 dragon fodder, turn 4 poly)...but almost every other game went at least 10+ turns.
this deck, I realized (with much testing) is game 1 deck. I found out that it pretty much can only win on the first game, thats if they don't know what kind of deck it is. Sometimes it will pull out a second game win, but it is too easily disrupted to be a competitive deck. Hopefully, (and I really want it to work) with zendikar we can get some help.
new players as they show up maybe twice with some budget deck they've spent the week designing and testing only to be beaten into oblivion by expensive decks they cannot hope to obtain and I think this is a tragedy.

I have to agree
after playtesting this deck against my friends jund ramp deck, and his other bant aggro.
Its a fun deck in concept however it can be so easily disrupted, it really is just a glass cannon.
Game 1 winner, maybe game 2 if they have no possible answers to just shut you down.
meddling mage, duress, thought hermorrhage really hurt this deck.
