MTG Salvation

This is what I ran last Friday and I just wanted to take a moment to discuss my findings...



One: Pyroclasm is nice against Elfball but instant speed boardsweepers are always better. If I were running Volcanic Fallout instead of Pyroclasm, I would have a much better time against Ball Lightning and Bloodbraid Elf.

Two: Four lords are not enough. Anytime my opponent drew a Magma Spray or Lightning Bolt for my Goblin Chieftain, I was dead in the water and lost quickly. I'm adding another 3 Mad Auntie and cutting the Banneret down to 3. I might also cut back on Murderous Redcap and Profane to keep the mana curve healthy due to less Banneret.

Three: Banneret is only good if mana costs have colorless in them! Prowling with them was top notch but sitting on Goblin Deathraiders hurt. They shouldn't be cut by any means, but nicer options should be included (Squeaking Pie Sneak). Fueling Banneret with Sensation Gorger would be amazing.

Four: I really need Auntie's Hovel and Mutavault.

You need Dragon Fodder for sure as its a common and easy to get. I find Knucklebone Witch to be useless in Standard play, you really need the Onslaught goblins to make it playable. You could add Vampire Aristocrat to make it OK but it is not a goblin. Goblin Outlander should be in there to lower your mana curve. I would also cut out Mudbutton Torchrunner as it costs too much for "suicide".

here is my uber fast goblin deck, i have been doing very well with it.
id LIKE to get VF into the SB versus some decks, but honestly i think it would do me more harm early game to have it in hand...

Goblins don't allow for spells like volcanic Fallout and my limited land base struggles too provide for banefire, so I added Guttural Response too deal with blue the rest should make sense its a shame I couldn't find room for magma spray that Fink will be troubling.

Manamorphose seems useless here. You can't seriously be having trouble fixing can you? Also, the point to running x8 Lords (Goblin Chieftain and Boartusk Liege) would be to pump the hordes of goblins you will be swinging with, hence Siege-Gang Commander. Also, Ram-Gang just seems superior to Outlander in every way, especially with Boartusk Liege.

why is noone using boggart mob? its fantastic with the new chieftan.

turn 1 raging, turn 2 dragon fodder, turn 3 goblin lord, turn 4 boggart mob champion a token swing with 2 tokens, lord, and a 6/6 and some will get through and make you a few more tokens and its GG from there. or late game champion a seige gang or a murderous FTW. you now have a 5/5 or better that they dont want to die.

what do you all think of my goblin deck, been playing for a wile and it is extreamly fast

i realy like the Thought Hemorrhage and Earwig Squad sideboarded because they tend to slow me down, but are realy good aginst control. not to sure if i like the banefire in side but not sure what to change it to and the anthamancer and goblin outlander should be ovious

what do you guys think?

does anyone else think adder-staff boggart is a decent goblin to play?

only 2 mana for a potential 3/2 goblin and gives me some control over the next card I draw which is nice cause playing goblins usually empties your hand

Have you tried playing the Outlander maindeck? It really depends on what decks you normally play against. I have been wanting to put Deathraiders in my deck but always end up pulling them out. How have they worked for you?

EDIT:: after i posted my list, i saw it was ALOT ALOT like yours Thief,
it runs quick, but after about turn 5 or 6 its hits the wall of aggro, haha

but try Warren Pilferers, they are expensive, but i love bringing back a torchrunner, and making my opponent think before they swing

Earwig Squad has always been great for me just to look through their deck. What to take?

5 color: 2 Sweep 1 Fattie
Jund: same as above
Time sieve: Tezz
Elves! Depends what they're current board position is. Usually 1 Regal force 2 primal command
R/B aggro: Demigods for sure

2 frogtosser because this deck is fast enough i don't want to spend turn 2 playing a card to reduce cost later, but waste a turn now.. not very helpful topdeck.

how can no one comment on this, its SUCH a strong goblin deck i am consistently beating everything

Redcap is a 4-must in all goblin decks...with lords (chieftains, Mad auntie, Liege), it's almost a double flame javelin all the time

there really is no room to put 4x redcaps, unless i cut the commanders, but with haste its soo brutal and without haste it still rocks

i know that no one cares about goblins in standard, but i've been wrecking people all day with this deck.
actually beat THIS DECK just now, felt pretty proud of myself.

You can't do that. Having multiple creature types that a banneret cares about doesn't stack, so Earwig Squad still costs 1B to prowl.
