Exactly how viable (more specifically how competitive) would a five color aggro deck be?
We already have some decent decks rolling around with 3-4 colors (dark bant, Doran rock, Bant rock, esper lark, jund tokens). Admittedly, straight aggro would be tough, but an well curved aggro control deck should be very viable. Something Mid-range based, but with a few good early and late game plays.
Any Ideas that could be discussed?
I've been thinking about this a lot too, mostly because I'd like to have a deck with a lot of 2nd turn accelerated drops, like Monk, Doran, and Thoctar all available. But I dont know what to make your strong color besides Green. You need some sort of utility. I think one of the Charms, be it Naya, Bant, or Esper. Esper gives you the tempo advantage and the discard effect is nice against 5cc, while Naya and Bant charm deal with creature threats nicely. Esper charm also blows up O. Rings.
EDIT: After some thought, Grixis is great for creature kill, plus it doubles as a finisher. I think that may be the best charm to use. AND you can bounce plainswalkers with it.

Thanks goes to Spiderboy4 and High~Light Studios for the amazing sig!!
I was thinking of RGW as the primary colors, it gives you access to some great cards, Birds, and FoD, Lark, and Gouger, among others.
Zoo would work, maybe more of a toolbox Zoo.
A straight zoo deck wouldn't survive in standard (i think, correct me if i'm wrong)
Any creature with a CitP ability would be stellar (assuming fair costing etc) but i think the most important thing would be drawing and surviving Volcanic fallout (*** would be nice, but we have to be reasonable, creatures die)
Canker Abomination could soar against certain decks, other wise it's crappy. I don't know if it would accel in general, it seems poopy in general
Slithermuse could warrant some nice CA if needed.
so maybe a good URG?

Dark Bant + Red for utility spells. Probably Volcanic fallout, or some of the charms mentioned earlier.
There are some good red creatures, but they don't synergize well with the 5c strategy IMO.
Honestly I can't see someone wanting to play Doran with Wooly Thoctar. If your going to go 5 color aggro expect a lot of hell to pay by using Ancient Ziggurat. I can't tell you how many times in my RGW Zoo I have 6 lands, one of which is ziggurat and holding Banefire to win the game only to have your opponent manage to stall you out with bitterblossom tokens or manage to to gain five life back from a Cruel Ultimatum.
This is the deck I have been working on, Still working on the MB but so far its not to bad.
Really think if a 5 color deck is going to work it should be built like a Ramp Deck
I've seen several attempts at it. I'd recommend checking the skittles 5 color domain aggro thread in the decks for critique sub forum. It should provide some useful areas to look at
sorry, i requested it as a sort of building block, all my bad there.
Would this deck be less potent without mulldrifter?
i mean, even in the event that it resolves, would a different five Cost creature be more potent?
I really like the drifter in the deck. Understand that you would probably want more of a threat for the mana spent, but im not sure what else to suggest. Its also nice to have some card draw in the deck.
I think it's possible, with green being the base. Plus Gaddock Teeg should be main to stop control decks. I am thinking about a 5c aggro deck for when alara reborn comes out using knight of new alara with fusion elemental.

well, it's still a big threat, 2 cards is a fair amount of unknown threats that could end the game. plus it could solidify a domain spell, or give you a good Wrath/coup or something game changing

maybe we could use it as a basic plan
make revisions as we see fit, and fine tune it
