I started making a Bolas control deck just today, and I'll be needing some cards that will take care of cards such as Oblivion Ring because the last thing I need is for my Bolas to be O-ringed. Any suggestions would be nice.
Part of black and red's share of the color pie is that they have no ways of dealing with enchantments. Since you're playing blue (right?), Cancel and Boomerang are your best bets.
don't suggest Cancel its a disgusting counter-spell. Negates and Cryptics should be heald in hand to ensure that after Bolas resolves he can stay on the field.

This is the "No Color/Mana Discipline" Standard as long as you have a playset of Pools and some Vivid lands, just splash green or white and you have plenty of options for removing enchantments, like....your own O-Rings, Esper Charms, Naturalize, etc.

You sound extremely bitter about the ease of mana-basing in the current environment...
And your sig kinds points to that as well.
Just saying, this is like the fifth time I've seen you post basically the same post.

Still holds true. 2c decks with a 3rd color splash don't need Pool, but anything more than that does need. Still, since there's no non-basic hate at all (Fulminator Mage doesn't count, since it's currently unplayable, aka situationally good) there's no logic in a deck that can support but doesn't play CIP tapped lands + Pool, except when you talk about this character: $.

Only fifth? I must be slipping.
Frankly, I'll keep saying it as long as questions like this pop up. The OP is already planning to play Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. Why restrict himself to black and red options for enchantment removal?
My beef with the "easy mana" is just that. It's too easy. There is almost no work or effort to getting there. Just slap 26 lands in a deck include some Vivids, four Pools, and insert whatever filters/pains they want and BAM. Go crazy. Color discipline means nothing right now. NOTHING. I see a 5c player trot out ridiculous cards that would never be in the same deck otherwise (Cloudthresher and Cruel Ultimatum just as an example) with no problem other than missing a land drop. No life loss, no investment, no fixing cards. Oh, every now and then, you might accidentally have to tap a painland and take 1. Wow. Meanwhile, the UB player could just keep taking damage from an Underground River for a blue mana because he can't find a Island even though his mana is more consistent.
Yeah, WotC didn't mean to let "easy" 5-Color decks happen pre-Conflux, oh hell no.
Now, I don't have a players with people who want to play 5cc in Standard. I just hate this format for it.

Theres still plenty of viable deck options that don't include a billion vivid lands and 4 Pools. I wouldn't really consider it bad for the format; theres still a solid amount of 1-3 colored decks that don't rely on that kind of wacky mana base.
Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.

I think what The American Nightmare is trying to say is while there are decks that aren't running this crazy manabases there really isn't a reason not to (besides budget). Back in rav/ts standard it was a lot harder to design a mana base for a deck of three or more colors, and 5 color decks were not very consistent cards like cloudthresher never would have seen play in it. Now with all the options avaible the biggest penalty seems to be cipt lands, which with spells like the ulitimatums and the commands on top of traditional control methods make this tempo disadvantage fairly easy to overcome which why 5cc is the top deck right now.
Uh, the statement "black/red enchantment removal" could be interpreted as either removal for black/red enchantments or black/red removal for enchantments. The phrase "black/red, enchantment removal" doesn't even make sense.
Sigh. Did you read the post that was in response to?
I've been reading your other posts in this thread and I honestly can understand why you hate how this format is forming. Tell you the truth I actually think its pretty stupid how people can now just throw in 3 to 4 reflecting pools, vivids, pains and filters, and boom they can throw in any amount of whacky cards that they deem is good for the deck. I'm glad they "appologized" for the reflecting pool/vivid interactions, which I think can't be true. If they are apologizing now how did they let it slip in the first place?
Why the devil are we discussing the state of Standard mana bases and having a debate over grammar in this thread? Neither have anything to do with the question posed by the OP.
Given the question has answered and this thread has served it's usefulness, both in answering the question and acting a spam magnet, it's closed with the appropriate infractions to come.

I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
