Quirion Dryad is in Tenth edition, and there are an awful lot of good blue cards. Does anyone else thing Miracle Gro could matter to the format again, or is it just too slow?
Which cards in particular are you referring to? There was lots of talk of Miracle Gro back in TS/LOR-SHA Standard, and the deck never materialized. I tested a great deal with it, as did some others I know, and the end result always was that Tarmogoyf was better than Quirion Dryad, so it ended up being a Ug deck without Dryad. Now that Goyf has rotated out, I extremely doubt that T2 will see a Miracle Gro deck. Quirion Dryad is simply too slow nowadays, and there aren't enough cheap cantrips or free spells.

Ive been running a UGw Miracle Grow deck for about a month now with mixed results. The main problems are getting rid of threats and applying pressure at the right times. I also decided that Quirion Dryad was inferior to Wake Thrasher, which is superior in almost every situation. I really think for it to work it will have to become a midrange deck (similar to mine) splashing white and black for some new Alara goodness.
Crono Temporal Tiem, I was thinking of suggesting that Chameleon Colossus would be a good "wizard" to add, but then I thought that Ugw merfolk might be a stronger deck. Adding Colossus would increase your similarity to that deck, and it might be a bad idea to play a deck similar to another one, except with poorer matchups.

I hope there is a deck since I got 3 10th ed. (found all at my FNM luckily) FOIL Dryads for about $6 total in trade.

Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
If a grow deck becomes viable, I sincerely doubt it will feature the dryad. Most likely Wake Thrasher or maybe even the new Manaplasm, which works similarly to wake thrasher but you cant take mana burn ftw with it. The dryad is just too, slow I think.
The thing about the original Miracle Gro deck is that it ran 12 land, and won, hence the "miracle". Without the free land fetch, the duel lands to fetch, free couterspells and inexpensive card draw (at instant speed) the deck is garbage.
Trade your Dryads to your local Johnny and get on with life.

No, they called it Miracle Gro because it's the name of a popular gardening fertilizer. They named Quick n Toast after a sandwich, not because it's fast.
GB Elves <-man I hate this deck, it has a 50/50 matchup against Tier 1/2 but loses to jank aggro most of the time. UB Faeries <-only reason it's good is because of all those people that's still playing 5CC. WB Tokens <-so boring, there's only 2 ways to play this deck. RB Blightning <-Autopilotting you to victory 0-2 drop.
???B Super Secret Tech <-dude, this thing is nuts! 90/10 against all matchups.
This deck draws so many cards it's ridiculous. Give it a try. You can even 'go off' with reejery, banneret, and collossus, and make him something like a 20/20 and tap your opponents board sometimes.
I played 4 at my local FNM a few weeks ago in a red-deck-wins type deck (splashing green for them since I didn't have Tarms) and it worked very well, if anything it took out a shriekmaw for 1G but much of the time it was swinging for 4 and 5.
It was definitely definitely a good addition to the crushers and other things.
It might not be playable anymore because of the rotation of TSP and the addition of nothing new in ALA. In the decks with the 5/4 flying dude it might not be fast enough.

I don't think UG is the way to go, I would think that GR is probably better. With the strength of red in the coming format, and the easy fixing, I would imagine that she can grow very big, very quickly. Too bad Rift Bolt is leaving...
Otherwise, UG seems too slow- not enough cheap spells to make it work.
With dryad, yes UG is too slow. Without however, and using wake thrasher instead (because it grows too) like I do with my UGw it works pretty well. Though you guys are still trying to make the dryad work. I say, if you can find a good color combination, then it doesnt really matter as long as you can make it work for you.
UGr grow with/without dryad. Expect it at your FNM, because god knows that no johnny can resist attacking with a 4/4, turn 4 attacking with a 6/6 and a 7/7+ (Possibly with trample, possibly dealing 4 to the dome, possibly also incinerate'ing your face)
Standard is fast as ever, and I laugh a ****load when people say it's being slowed down.

Proxy up the list I posted and play some games with it. You can be half way through your deck, or swinging for lethal, or both, by turn 4-6 easily.
With red, once you run out of gas, you're out of gas. this deck draws cards like there's no tomorrow and still beats down in a hurry.

Having played both, wake thrasher dies much easier in the mid game than a dryad because during your opponents turn hes usually only a 1/1 and much more likely to die to burn than the dryad who pumps permanently instead of temporarily.

Google the word: Spellcheck. Since you spelled sarcasm wrong :).
As for Miracle Gro: It seems fun, i just think it needs a third color.

Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD

Its a risk your going to have to take playing any significant threats. But when it gets through, if your still playing spells, it can be a 7/7 or up every turn, just one turn after playing it. Or if they foolishly let it sit for a turn, Thrasher + Loxodon Warhammer = win, period. What happens with your dryad when your in topdeck mode (which you will be sometimes, I dont care how much card draw you have) and drawing lands, even if not then its still only a +1/+1 every turn maybe. If you need to, to get those last points of damage through when you can, you can also just take some mana burn at the end of their turn to win on yours.
Its also not the weaksauce when you play it, becoming a 4/4 the next turn, Dryad sits pretty small for a couple of turns, even if you do land it turn 2.
The Miracle Grow archetype was really only good with Tarmogoyf to help Quirion Dryad. Now that it's gone, the Dryad is much too fragile to have an entire archetype built around it. What are you going to do when Dryad gets killed, and your deck is full of useless spells? I know the object is to counter the kill spells, but with so many of them and some coming down early as turn 1 Executioner's Capsule, this deck doesn't really stand a chance. Maybe if Dryad had shroud.

I WANT YOUR DEATH BARONS! Message me if you want to get rid of them!
Here's what I'm looking at now:
4 Wistful Selkie
4 Snakeform
4 Sage's Dousing
4 Cryptic Command
4 Ponder
4 Dream Fracture
4 Telling Time
4 Boomerang
Untested, just something I threw together real fast. Four of the lands would be Mutavaults to up the Wizard count for Sage's Dousing.
