I was going to run this deck this week at my weekly T2 tourny and I was looking for sideboard ideas and it doesn't seem like there are any decks like it kicking around right now.
So I was just curious what a Wg turbofog deck could do to help against counterspell heavy decks, it seems like that would be my worst matchup.
I played against a UW Turbofog deck at Regionals. Dunno about the numbers breakdown, but it ran the following:
Martyr of Sands
Holy Day
Dawn Charm
Pollen Lullaby
Jace Beleren
Howling Mine
Savor the Moment
Rune Snag
Sunscour
Wrath of God
It sucked. It completely sucked, it was only ever played as a pet deck by mtgsal forumgoers, it sucked, it was boring to play with and against, it sucked, it had terrible matchups against anything but aggro, it sucked, it never posted anything close to promising results, and it sucked.
It didn't suck all the time. It's just the meta's different right now. Pre-bitterblossom faeries, it had good game against non-sonic boom decks.
Sonic boom isn't getting action right now but that doesn't mean it sucks.
Hey, I used to play Turbofog last summer, and while it's not gonna do much better than Tier 2 right now, there are some things that are worth trying against counterspell decks. Namely, splash just a TINY bit of black, and maindeck 3-4 extirpates. IF you can survive to the point where you've extirpated 2 of their counterspell sets... you'll have left them with a crappy aggro deck essentially.
If you wanna be even crazier.... splashing black also allows you to run Darkness if you want. (as if 12 fog's already isn't enough)
im stopped playing it b/c i was sick of it. its cheap and unfun. at leats this deck has a win condition other than just hold off your opponent until the deck hem selves.
hope you enjoy the list

The deck cannot, I repeat, cannot beat faeries. I used to play martyr, and faeries were the only matchup I couldn't beat.

Yeah, until they Terror/Inversion your Shusher and proceed with business as usual.
I swarm with the bees and diseases...
why play a deck which wants the opponents to lose and not you to win lol

Yes, it did suck all the time. It was never a good deck. It never did well, ever.
Yes, it does. Sonic Boom, while better than Turbofog because it wasn't completely godawful, is not a good deck in this format, at all.

Infinite Life/Damage/Bounce > Finite amount of life.
that plus the fact that Faeries is still darn good will make it impossible for Turbofog to do well in tourneys.
What a shame.
