i think you should say to hell with skred and play claw
but IMO, martyr is much better than sudden shock vs merfolk and we already rape faeries to the core with burn
IMO, sudden shock sucks, is gay, and is dumn
The irony is overwhelming.
As far as Skred goes...what do you do if a 3/4 Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers hits the board? Or a Chameleon Collossus? Or a Wilt-Leaf Liege? 4 Flame Javelin isn't gonna cut it. Skred allows you to destroy large creatures for 1 single red mana, and is an easy replacement for Shock in certain matchups.

Claw vs Magus...I'm leaning towards Claw.
Skred doesn't hit the opponent's face. Lash Out is playable only because it can hit their face.

Made my day too.
Hence why it's SB. This deck has very little ways to deal with a Doran, Collossus, Wilt-Leaf Liege, etc. Skred gives us a SB out against larger creatures. Lash Out deals with none of those.

In a metagame fairly heavy on green-based aggro/midrange decks, Greater Gargadon and Threaten make me giggle.
If your only running 22 lands then I think that spitebellows is a better answer for large creatures because it hits for 6 at turn 3 and with that many snow lands getting to 5 or above is going to be tuff.

Spitebellows was not something I had considered....thanks. I'll give it a test.
I think that you are all noobs for wanting to play a no skill burn deck where you just throw spells at your oppt hoping to win.
Thanks for the contructive criticism, my deck is at least 10 times better now.
On a side note, I wish there was a viable way to send a hasted Nova Chaser at them on t4. But thinking upon it, it took up too many cards. You'd probably need Ashling's Perogative and a vault in play, and 4 other land. And then at that point, the deck is too jank to do much other than lose
It's funny that you say that because that's not how you play this deck.
Who's the noob now?
Burn isn't as easy as it seems. a good player will try to force you into burning there aggro, and its a cerful mathematical dance to try to keep 20 points for them, while not trying to give up 20.

Why so much mogg fanatic? I dont really like him. If you got screwed out of a bunch of creatures and all you had was a mogg fanatic for a few turns, and your opponent is dropping alot of blockers that you need to burn, you wont get much damage through. Not as much as say...maniac. I mean, mogg fanatic is basicly a 2/1 since he can take one and dish out 2. But he cant attack for 2. Which I would think, in rdw, would be needed much more.

He kills 1 drops pretty easily, and he's also decent against faeries. He trades with x/2's all day. If you play him, swing, and sac, he was the same as a shock which isn't bad. If he swings twice and trades with a dude then he was better than shock.
He's definately a must include. What more do you want from a 1 spot?
Alright guys, I just had to delete a TON of posts and infract many different users. Start discussing the deck in a civilized manner, or further infractions will ensue. That means I will not *just* delete the posts, I will infract them before deleting them (I deleted a total of 7 useless posts that were either flaming or spam... I could have infracted each one but I chose to keep it to an infraction apiece).
Do not test your luck. If I see more spam/flaming in this thread, it WILL be infracted on a post to post basis.

the 3 magical reasons red decks run mogg fanatic
1) it was made by jesus
2) its the best 1 drop of all time
3) how the hell do you replace a 1 mana 1/1 that pings something???
It can kill two 1/1's in combat, which leaves you a card up. So basically you got to play counsel of the soratami for R. Well, sort of. Also when you're finished with him you can use him as removal. and yes, he kills 2/2's (or 3/2's or 10/2's) which is awesome.
I was just exploring new ways to better the game against faeries and other aggro decks that usually have to be raced. This is what I came up with...It uses blowfly infestation+puncture bolt or blowfly + everlasting torment + burn to wrath faerie's board. The puncture bolts help against things like redcaps, finks, etc. Thoughtsieze is to take out lifegain , threats (i.e vanquisher, goyf) or counterspells. Everlasting is useful to weaken opponent's creatures, helping the deck last longer and stop life gain. Just trying something new with the SH stuff, lemme know what you think. At the heart it is a RDW splash black for Blowfly and Thoughtsieze.
I never had even thought about using black for ... infestation. Keldon Marauders are better than ramgang, also, ramgang must be harder to play than keldon with three RRR.
the main reason for ramgang was basically just wither, to help out the blowfly and stop persist, as well as weaken fatties. Marauders doesn't do that. I was also worried that ramgang was too many 3cc for the deck (the others being infestation, torment, and javelin). As another note I also cut the encampents and maniacs for thier vulnerabilities on a board of x/1s with infestation in play. Also, encampment is activated less due to more 3 drops.
Yeah but ram-gang has wither, so if you have blowflies out they can't block it. Of course the same is true of marauders if you have everlasting torment.
hi guys im having a little trouble deciding which cipt land to play for my rdw. Im playing a more controlling version with sulfurous blast and 24 land. My choices are basically ghitu encampment or keldon megalith.
Encampment is really good against several deck espeically the first strike can just own up combat step. Bad part is that he can be easil removed by terror and nameless inversion as well as chumped all day long. But it can also be used against aggro to chump block then saced to shard volley litterly buying you 2-4 points of life as well as dealing 3 to an opponent or creature.
Megalith on the otherhand is just direct damage. It is less useful in the early game but if you have 2 activaed against faeries when they have bitterblossom out its pretty good. It is also less syngertic with shard volley because shard volley's sac land ability limits its use early game which means it hard to empty my hand and activate megalith.
most rdw that uses manland(other than mutavault) are most likely using ghitu encampment, but i think due to strong faerie's showing maybe encampment is better due to the fact i usually get them to 2-3 life before i cant get any spell through their counter and any creature through their chump blocking and cryptic tapping.
I won my FNM last night for the second time in a row. Here's a brief match up report:
Round 1: BR Mannequin 1-2
This was the only round I lost. The first game, I was able to drop a first turn Tattermunge Maniac into a turn two Keldon Marauder into a turn three Boggart Ram-Gang. Needless to say, it ended pretty quickly after that. Game two, he hit a turn two Bitterblossom and killed my Mutavault on turn three with a Fulminator Mage and destroyed my mountain with an Avalanch rider turn four. Game three, essentially he dropped a turn five Demigod of Revenge, which I burned. Turn 6, he drops another Demigod and swings for 10. It ended the next turn supprisingly.
Round 2: Mono-Green Aggro 2-0
It was a pretty sketchy build. I was able to burn his Llanowar Elves first turn both games, and was able just drop threats and destroy anything else he threw at me.
Round 3: Uw Merfolk 2-0
It was another sketchy build based around tapping and untapping to mill. I was really easy to beat.
Round 4 (Semi-Finals): The same BR Mannequin deck from the first round 2-1
It was a tough first match with a second turn Bitterblossom. I was able to just eek out a win through direct damage, luckily he didnt get any land destruction, or I wouldn't have won. Second game however, he did, along with an extreamly nasty Puppeteir Click targeting one of my Keldon Marauders. Thrid game, he got mana screwed and I got lucky. I just barely won the round.
Round 5 (Finals): W Kithkin. 2-0
It was the same kithkin deck from my last FNM report. I was able to clinch the win thanks to a nicely timed Everlasting Torment to negate his Ajani second game.
