MTG Salvation

someone must have already discussed this but i wants an experienced opinion on driven // despair and dusk // dawn. also i think i am not comfortable with 25 land mana base. i think its just too much for this deck with the curve topped at liliana's mastery and kalitas, traitor of ghet (also occasionally a big dark salvation)

i am quite new to zombie and planning to take BG version with driven // despair to the national in a few weeks so i am interested on hearing what you have to say about it

honestly, 25 lands is probably a land low if you're looking to cast Liliana's Mastery on curve. 25 is likely the right amount of mana for this deck.

I'm going to miss my Zombies... They've been fun. Got me my first Game Day mat as well, the Liliana one which I was very happy about. Wanted to say something before everyone goes off and this thread is archived. People thought it was an insta-win deck, but I've seen a lot of them fail playing it. You needed to understand the tempo, get in at the right time, and know when to sit back and take it and just go for it. Quite at a loss as to what to play next. What are people going to? There doesn't seem to be much in the way of graveyard shenanigans in Ixalan.

I've traded my zombie deck for Temur energy and I am quite sad about it. Being that the season is about to be over, I wanted to get the best bang for my buck. That said, I got crushed by zombies today and it reminded me of how good the deck actually is.

25 Lands is important for the deck, my version was running 4 mastery's and 4 ifnir deadlands. The deck is very mana hungry, and it is always looking to use it's mana efficiently. Mono Black is hands down the best version, I mean, the mana is simply perfect. I'll close out my exp with the deck by saying that I never had a losing record with the deck.

Hey man, I 100% agree with this updates. The inclusion of Hour of Glory will help beat The Scarab God (a card that is surprisingly excellent against Zombies). Taking the Kalitas out now is correct since he gets outlcassed in every way by Temur's 4-5 Drops. Thus having him MD is a no go anymore. Gonti is great now since Mid Range has comeback and with control on the rise I'm sure he will put in a ton of work. That card also blocks Hydra really well. The updates are really great, and I wish you the best of luck!

I had less success. Lost to a GW Horses deck when I just couldn't get what I needed. Beat a budget Zombie deck, ironically the only one running Scarab God, and then 1-1 tie against an Approach of the Second Sun deck. Rolled him G1, G2 I had a Gonti all set up when he played it, but he cycled two cards and scryed four with some Blue stuff to get it before I could snatch it. G3 I used Lost Legacy to take his Fumigates and Second Suns, but he dragged it out to a tie.

Anyone played with green for zombies at all? Mostly for a bit of ramp from hour of promise and then rishkar expertise for a free Lilly mastery drop plus draw cards. I've been fiddling with it a bit.

I've been working in a version kind of diferent. BW with some cats ( turn back zombies ). But, i really wanna know how will be post rotation.

I've played last sunday and i'm feel awfull, just can't win ramunap and mardu. I know that i need to make some changes and i just build that thinking in post rotation. Now, i'm thinking to keep mono black with a few white splash and include Desposses, Hour of Glory and Never//Return just like you guys says...

Can we discuss the new cards now then? Absolutely nothing that does anything, not even decent graveyard interaction. So it looks like Zombies have one more FNM and then they're consigned to history. Mine just misbehaved last night, drew 17 lands in one game. Absolutely had the match but just land after land. People always laugh at me for just doing zombies and graveyard, but it's what I like.
