Has anyone put together a mono-Black list? I played against one on MTGO yesterday (against my BR Midrange pet deck) that was pretty cool. It was mostly zombies, very grindy. It also ran Pariah. Dark Salvation was back breaking in some of the games. It could've used some tuning from what I saw, but it looked like it could be a pretty good, grindy deck that could easily overwhelm opponents. I was wondering if anyone on this thread had played around with mono black.
So, this thread has been dead for a while, but has anyone seen Bloodrage Brawler? When you want to discard a card, the stats on that seem nuts. It also makes me want to revisit a card I thought should be quite strong and then fell off the face of the earth, I think due to Ishkanah at the time. Heir of Falkenrath I love that you control when you discard similarly to Insolent Neonate and Key to the City which makes Voldaren Pariah much easier to cast. I know I'll have to find some room to bring Lightning Axe back in.
Thoughts on if Dread Wanderer has a place in BR Zombies? I've been testing with them instead of Insolent Neonates and have found them to be an upgrade.
Insolent Neonate is a fantastic enabler which makes the most degenerate nut draws work when nothing else does. Dread Wanderer is an OK payoff card that doesn't work until you've emptied your hand and have 3 mana. It depends on what you think you need more, but I'm on favor of the Neonate.
I agree that the deck is less explosive without Insolent Neonate, but Dread Wanderer is more resilient and a better card in the mid and late game. Even without Prized Amalgams to trigger this card is essentially free to bring back when the games go long.
There is the risk that they just sit there, but then at least they feed the Colossuses. Going to run four Aether Hubs, so they could be hard cast as well. I think Liliana, Death's Majesty would be good in the sideboard for things like that. I always see the Amalgams as either a flanker; look at my big Pariah! Oops, here comes the 3/3 instead. And with this, potentially a 5/5 while they're throwing removal at Kalitas and the Belcher. Secondly just a morale breaker; here they are, again. Zombies for me is long game, rope-a-dope, take a few knocks and then just everything comes back.
Just remember to make the best use of Time to Reflect you need a flying zombie on the field, and the newer set only has a 3 cmc 2/1 bat. Bone Picker seems better in almost every way since it can come out relatively consistently on turn 3-4 as a 3/2 deathtouch, though it's a non-zombie which makes it a non-bo with the card. Heart of Kiran is likely still going to be a thing in the coming standard unless the ban announcement changes anything.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
This is my draft list. Would love to hear people's opinions on it. A better sac/discard outlet would be nice. Relentless Dead sacced to Kalitas is probably going to be the main way to get the Amalgams back.

Authority and the Curse are there if there's anyone doing Saheeli Cat, but no one in my game shop is at the moment.
I can give you feedback, but I think it will help a lot more if I just give you a link to Strictly better MtGs video on the deck and why he is playing the cards he is playing. The main issues the deck has is that there are some traps from innistrad that look good, but really aren't most of the time. Generally, I'd reconsider going a full 4 of with Relentless Dead and probably avoid Diregraf Colossus. I've played with the later and he isn't as good as he appears.

Thanks. It's a very interesting list he does. Perhaps I'll swap the Diregrafs for Haunted Dead instead and like he says use Lili instead of the Relentless Dead.
Note that MTG Salvation speels "Trespasser" wrong... I'm not seeing that many Cat combos so I won't need all of them. Unsure about the lack of Anguished Unmaking and I think Liliana's Mastery makes everything better.
There's just a lot of good choices right now for zombies decks so there's a lot of different build options available. This entire deck is going to transform once we lose BFZ-EMN come fall, though. The core of it is from SoI so it's going to need a lot of love from Hour of Devastation.

The last time I played zombies it was something like this back in original Innistrad/RTR standard. Oh boy was it aggressive. Maybe now it can finally be replicated. I imagine playing a deck with Glorybringer and Hazoret as wincons. I'm not sure if there is any other constructed viable hasty threat on turn 4.

Wow, looking at that deck list makes me wish I was around when that standard was normal. The card selection is top notch and you got searing spear along with Thundermaw Hellkite.

Well, looking over a Rakdos list idea the two really good creatures for the deck are Bone picker and Scrapheap Scrounger. Even with artifact hate in the upcoming set the junkyard robot is still really good at grinding out matches, and the bone picker gives a flying threat that can trade with Heart of Kiran. Other aggressive one drop creatures available include Reaver Drone and Falkenrath Gorger. Given you might also be running Heir of Falkenrath I think the vampire wins out. In the 4 drop slot I still feel like Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet is the strongest drop you can have as Hazoret the fervent has that requirement on hand size to worry about. For the 4 drop slot don't forget about cards like Flame Lash and Bloodhall Priest as well. The 5 cmc slot is pretty much owned by Glorybringer in that set up. Maybe sideboard the new Liliana, Death's Majesty to help against control heavy decks and to make the deck a bit more grindy.

would bloodrage brawler work in a b/r zombie deck? he's a 2 drop 4/3 with discard. he can dump haunted dead and prized amalgam and scarpheap
The answer to that question is more so "is there a way to make a 4/3 that forces me to discard not potentially turn into a 2 for 1". If we only had Scrapheap Scrounger I'd say no, but with both the new undead you can play from the yard for 3 if you have one or fewer cards in hand and scrounger you might be able to do it. I'd still take Heir of Falkenrath over it because a 3/2 with flying that you can control when you discard is better than a 4/3 on the ground that forces you to lose a card on the spot.

Well, zombie tribal appears to be a thing now and the mono lists are looking strong. The sideboard is the major issue at the moment, though. Liliana, Death's Majesty is probably a good sideboard in the mono-lords list against control and that build is the one I'd probably use Diregraf Colossus in.

I love zombies and have started building them since Dread Wanderer was revealed. It just so happens that I have a couple playsets of Diregraf Colossus, Cryptbreaker and Prized Amalgam lying around since nobody seems to want them in.
Anyhow, is there a way to create an aggressive BW list without loading up on Diregraf Colossus and Plague Belcher? I know they are wonderful cards, especially the belchers, but having 12 3-drops in a 20-ish land deck is something I'm not comfortable about.
Wayward Servant is awesome with colossus and cryptbreaker though.
I just keep thinking how awesome Plague Belcher would be with Geralf's Messenger I think WB zombies is cool, I just dont like thst Wayward servant is the only thing pushing me in that direction. Still trying to come up with a BR build with a fast clock.

Do you think your Prized Amalgams will sit in the GY since your only way to revive them will be Relentless Dead?
Otherwise, 3 color zombies seem interesting if the mana can be made right.

So far I see these cards as the core:
Cryptbreaker
Dread Wanderer
Plague Belcher
Relentless Dead We may not 100% love this card but the 2cmc needs a zombie, the wall of text is relevant, and combos nicely with Belcher once the deck hits 4 mana.
Lord of the Accursed
There's still room to innovative, I for one will start with Prized Amaglam,s and the discard synergy + recursion theme.
Modern: Decks I'm playing right now:
G Mono Green Tron (34-10-3 paper record, only SCG/Regionals/PPTQ record)
C Eldrazi Tron (9-5)
UG Infect
RW Burn
