Just a note to start this off... i mean LD without wildfires
I've tried multiple dex and accelerators to do LD in std, but right now it seems impossible, becuase of really 2 things. The LD costs to much besides stonerain, (havoc, mold, wrecking ball are all 4) and the mana acceleration on top of that with reach etc.
i have built very fast LD dex but it just doesnt seem to be able to devestate like it has before.
I'm wondering if its possible to make a good LD deck in std? I'm thinking that this might change when 'avalanche riders' rotates in and kamigawa rotates out.
Maybe you'll get Archenemy cards in your Duel Decks From The Vault: Deck Builder's Toolkit All-Foil Duels of the Planeswalkers Downloadable Content Expansion (Tactics Edition).
It might happen, just due to the amount of LD total within the sets...but I havent been able to find a list yet, i threw around some ideas a few days ago...but they either are too weak to have a chance or just dont have a win condition...
I think that traditional LD with Vore and Wildfire are great in standard. The best part of this is the fact that you no longer have to deal with cranial and erradicate getting your Vores. Plus you have the new Totems as alternate win conditions and acceleration.
i believe there is currently a deck out there called "8 stone rain deck" that runs 4 cryoclasm because almost every deck will have a target for it. also some people think they can put icefall to good use.. doesn't sound feasible
Yes, it's very possible, but I don't think it's doable without Wildfire, here's what I've been running with the alteration of Creeping Mold moving to sideboard to make room for Mwonvuli Acid-Moss, this deck is very competitive, and has been doing well against the Top decks that have come and gone in the last several months.
We have cryoclasam and stone rain, backed up with riders and demolish and you would jsut need something like vore or zozu (sadly rotating as soon as we get a good land d base) or dingus egg (all that I'm mentioning is extended leagl, with molten rain legal as well) and really you can do it. just gotta make sure you can keep fueling your hand and your all set.
Splashing green for accel and creeping mold, and wreak havoc.
Splashing blue for tempo, card draw and bounce.
Splashing black for card draw and wreaking ball.
Splashing white for....... ok no reason to splash white.
Yeah, alot of potential in land destruction right now.

Looking for people to test T2 with me on MWS, Pacific or Mountain time preffered
stone rain is in 9th.......;)
I believe that with all the mana acceleration currently in red that it will probably be viable. Only time will tell...
