28 creatures is passable, or at least better than 30, because it's all Husk food. However, I'm pretty sure that Phyrexian Arena is too slow. I know I said he was better before, but I think Confidant is pretty damn bad. Have you considered Brain Pry? It's good, and you can usually tell what an opponent is playing after turn 1, but I don't know if another 2 drop is an awesome solution. Just consider it.

so... first off who runs that... secondly... castigate says that more... and if i run brain pry like plastik says... then i could F that up... plus... one liners dont help me all that much... im aware that if i discard the card then i no longer have it... however that gives me no insight
I had to go look that up just now. I had to look it up. Do you know why? Do you have any earthly idea as to why?
Because it's a terrible, overpriced card that nobody uses, that's why. By turn 4 he sould be swinging pretty hardcore (at least up to the 10 damage dealt point) and a Castigate would mean he'd have to wait another 2 turns to draw another, usually. I just think it's a really terrible card.
Also, Mana Leak.
And the only thing I'd worry about as far as Discard goes is Castigate, that card is pretty damn hardcore when it comes to nailing what it wants, as well as being a playable card.

i think that you would benifit a lot from a token generator of some sorts. I can't think of a black or blue on off the top of my head but maybe someone can. If not splash? Nantuko husk+ token generator= more space for removal. If you splash green it opens up quite a few token generators as well as a boat load and a bag of chips more pump sources

But multiple colors and/or token generation means slow slow games. While the B/W Ghost Husk can afford this, this one can't, because it dies to a lot of disruption. It needs to hit the table swinging and win by turn 5 or 6 or it's going to be incredibly iffy. If we add stability to the deck in the form of more svg control, we take away from its speed and destroy the point of the deck.

the main two reasons why im against using more colors are... one, its harder to get the mana you need for any given spell... and two, three colors would mean i have less black, which makes the akuba less lethal
... and after sleeping on the decklist... i have made a few changes (comments helped a lot)
i played the deck today against a legacy deck (spiritmonger) and won 2-1... game one i had just made the deck and it was shuffled poorly but i survived a while but there isnt much i can do with just 4 rusalka (which were taken out by a deed) and 3 mistblade shinobi, however this game did show me that the brain prys were amazing... game 2 all me all the way, i got an akuba out quick but was stuck at 3 mana so i enchanted the writ on it and the game was over... game 3 all me early... he got a monger out, i let it hit me a few times while hitting him with an unblockable akuba, then i started throwing blockers in the way of the mongrel, and swung for the win at 1 life by last gasping his monger to a 5/5 while at 6...
i wish i had time to test against other stuff... but no T2 players were at the shop until i had to leave... maybe this weekend
I don't know if Plaxmanta is worth its salt. I mean, countering things that target isn't exactly tech in this format by any means. And Husk almost seems like it can be cut to 2. I don't know, again, testing has to occur and results must be made for this discussion to continue.

sorry you took me seriously, it was actually just a joke about a hilarious game i had just had.

well this hasnt been posted on for a while but iwas wondering if you could take a look at my verison and tell me what you thought.
i really liked this deack idea so heres my build right now.
i dont know how much draw is really needed... but you really cant rely on the last gasps on being useful... i mean it cant kill meloku or any win conditions like that... the card is ineffective against control decks... but the creatures like the goblin and rusalka are all still always beaters and removal when they need to be
as stated before... i have found that the plaxmantas are NOT all that... or even a small part of that... i need another beater... perferably another flyer...
this deck much more heavily relies on the akuba vs the husk...
i agree that akuba can be helpfull but keep in mind the removal out there and how many diffrent shocks there are,
last gasp against control is worthless but since u play rusalka u can fling him plus a grasp to kill a 4toughness critter

with this deck i played against a tron control deck... lost 2-1... after which i decided 2 things needed to be changed... the rusalka is only good against creature based decks (and thus is a SB card), in its place i put thoughtpicker witch... i also decided that the plaxmanta have to go as well (there just isnt enough targeted removal to justify it), in its place went Ninja of the Deep Hours.
after modifying the deck, i played against the tron deck again... i won 2-0... then i played against a RG beats deck... i won 2-1... the added draw of the ninjas was amazing... and the preventing my tron opponent from getting the win conditions was godsent
Again, I'm fixing the order of your deck to, you know, a logical one
4 Nantuko Husk
4 Plagued Rusalka
4 Festering Goblin
4 Surveilling Sprite
4 Mistblade Shinobi
4 Wicked Akuba
4 Plaxmanta
2 Phyrexian Arena
4 Hinder
4 Writ of Passage
7 Island
4 Watery Grave

i was thinking of soritami cloudskater instead of surveilling sprite... repeatable draw vs drawing once
i was considering dropping a husk and adding another brain pry...
if i do this then i should probably drop one of the plaxmanta...
but then again this is just thinking... ive only tested this against one deck... and it wasnt even T2... but still what do you think?
