dude, try reading the thread it's tech... u can find a lot of builds there...
also, ur talking of cards coming off the sideboard right? if so, then i must say, no one has yet to provide any sideboard option at all(i think...)
the deck is still inconsistent and too raw IMO...
good point about the copy enchantment though... i didn't think about that...
still... the point of the deck was to kill quickly before enchantments like the ones u mentioned come online...
ivory mask? this is not a red deck which tries to fling burn to the opposing player...
phyrexian arena? true, this is quite problematic as it generates advantage for ur opponent, but i think playing proper countermagic would make sure this never comes online...
glorious anthem? now i agree with u on this one... this needs to be destroyed... especially as this deck is quite vulnerable to weenie decks...
glare of subdual? again, proper countermagic should take care of this...
priviledged position? ur not actually trying to destroy their permanents... ur more like trying to win before they can notice it...
If you think about running Clone as removal, why not Hero's Demise instead? It's an instant, and is half the mana to cast. Again, just things that keep getting repeated over and over...
Quote from sakeyah »
can this deck go three colors? like b/u/w? a playset of wrath would be nice... plus maybe 10 counterspells then the hunted leyline theme... just thinking out loud... hehehe...
Actually something I pondered as well. Playing white gives us access to Mortify, Faiths Fetters, Wrath of God, etc. I really lost faith in the counterspell route of the deck and the mana may not be as rough as you'd first think. With Godless Shrine and *gulp* Forbidden Orchard, our mana base could still function properly. Hmm...
hehehe... honestly dude, ur not the only one disgusted at the thought of playing with a very crappy forbidden orchard...
everyone kept reminding me about that when we were playtesting... (tested against bdw btw, went 3-5 out of 8 games, too many critters... and too many crappy opening hands for me, but at least the CMU was a lot better... went 3-2 before we had to quit coz it was raining really hard... no sense in getting ur proxy cards all wet eh?!?!? hehehe...)
also, i don't know **** about mana bases as my first deck was Gifts Ungiven... (really didn't have to worry about mana with that deck...)
so i usually overdo the mana requirements just to make sure that i get the right kind of mana whenever i needed it... (thus the playset of TENDO and FORBIDDEN in a two color deck!?!??!)
Back to the white splash though... i really like wrath of god in this deck... at least it will slow the game down for straight aggro decks...
i like faith's fetters over mortify as it sets the aggro decks back and can target ur 3/3 pro-black tokens...
all in all that's about 8 cards...
plus the 10 counters...
then the hunted leyline theme which is about 12,
then the card drawing engine of bob and jushi, i've been using 6,
and i think that's about it...
won't be recommending any mana base though... can't think of anything good except tendos and orchards... hehehe... (last... 2 melokus should always be included in any blue deck right? so what would u take out for it?)
To me, the best critters to put in a Leyline Deck would be the Hunteds and Sakashima the Impostor. Play a Hunted Horror and then Copy it with a Sakashima to get 2 7/7 tramplers. :fingers:

*** is definately not a splashy card...but it would be nice to have it in wouldnt it.
The orchard NOW might be a possibility, but only if you desperatly want wrath in the deck. at least the tokens cant get out of hand if you have the leyline....adding more white for anything more than wrath will really change the focus of the deck, as it will cut down on the counterspells.
oh hideous laughter why cant you be a little bit better:(
tried adding red for straight mindless games of burn and attacking and got better results... however it seems to casual to pursue...
tried also adding white but have not yet tested it.... i was busy trying out the triad deck... but goldfishing on MWS shows that can be a great matchup against aggro... u just have to keep clearing the board before dropping the hunteds with counter back ups...
this is my latest build btw... I splashed 7 white cards (4 wrath and 3 mortify)
I built the deck to play a few casual games with a bunch of friends of mine and it was awesome. I took out 4 hero's demise, 1 watery grave, and 2 underground river and 1 island and put in 4 putrefy, 2 overgrown tomb and 2 llanowar wastes. I saw that was better when playing against decks that used things like hunted dragon and loxodon heirarch....thanks for the decklist. Have fun!
true... but wrath also keeps bob in check and shores up the aggro problem a lot... bob's there for a few quick points of damage and a couple of cards... u just have to be careful not to play bob when u have the upper hand against aggro...(like u have a wrath or mortify)
also, jushi is a better play IMO, so i usually play him before bob... i play bob when i need to draw into more counters without necessarily tying up my mana...
i may change wrath with something a little lower casting cost (i.e. ghostly prison) after i playtest some more... hopefully i'd run into more aggro decks so i could try it out...

THANKS to R&Doom for the AWESOME SIG!!!! and Nex3 for the AVATAR!!!!
btw i think, a control variant of this deck would look for the best way, aggro arnt so good i figured out .... hehe
This version is cool, too. I like the other version more. I haven't tried playing with this one, but the other one seems to have a theme that it sticks too, whereas this one seems to hop around a lil bit. If i play u/r, then i will play with the infinite combo and just ways to get to it faster. Thanks for the reply.
just wondering though... has anyone tried playing against any rdw decks? or ponza decks with lots of aggro creatures?
I did.. just about 4 hours ago... I duked it all out against RDW, then lost close games, 0 wins out of 3 losses!!!
I was matched up against the CHK version of RDW... He kept blasting me at the head, and splicing glacial ray upon glacial ray, upon lava spike, to kill creatures, then he played this card... Hidetsugu's second rite...
On the game I thought I was gonna win!
Man... The horror.
Needs few more things to help keep the life points up...
I kept countering stuff, and the funny thing is, he was winning on a top decking mode. He was playing anything he was gonna draw!
As far as I'm concerned, maybe a card like zur's weirding is actually sounding good just right about now.

hmmmm... this deck is starting to look really crappy against aggro.. btw, could u post the decklist which u played against burn?
honestly though, using bob(if u had it in ur deck) against burn decks is really painful...
also, surviving on counters against a deck that just tries to burn its way thru is really annoying...
congrats btw for keeping the game close... my build wouldn't last very long against a burn deck...(even if i was splashing white for faith's fetters...)
zur's weirding is a nice suggestion though... but how many? three? also, u loose two life to keep them from drawing right?
any suggestions as to how make this deck survive aggro and burn?
(i was thinking if we could use the bounce strategy of the UR magnivore decks to keep them off their mana... that way counters would be more effective... something like... leyline on the first turn... turn two boomerang a land... turn three eye of nowhere another one... turn four lay down a horror and leak whatever spell he'll cast... turn five attack for seven... turn six, sit back on ur counters and counter anything he casts... even if it's a land fetch or sakura or anything... this puts a lot of decks back... and gives us the window to cast the horror and counter anything he tries...)
any suggestions as to how make this deck survive aggro and burn?
whats the problem there. Just play a hunter horror second turn with aleyline in play and they´ll never win the damage race and if they come close counter some burn to gain a bit of time

do you realise it isnt propable to have leyline and horror there each game?

ivory mask is a good suggestion though... i would keeping that in mind if a lot of burn decks make an appearance...
leyline and horror is not really that much of a trick... u have a 7/7 and they two to three different creatures like 2/2 and 1/1 or 3/4 which is almost like a 7/7 thus the need to find out another solution against the aggro problem...
i'll proxy this up and see if i can find some opponents... thanks...

bad idea ur deck is already tight in color mana another one is just goint to make it less consistent that it already is
about the aggro matchup i still cannot understand how can it be difficult a 7/7 trampler in 2nd turn beats any 1/1 or 2/2 creature also you should have counter/removal backup if the 7/7 monstar cant take on bears.
Also its not very hard to get a a hunted creature and a leyline in the first turns basicly because you should mulligan until a leyline can be played for free and then you have 8 hunted creatures and sleight of hand to search for them

well, trying out the deck against ww/r o bdw would be nice... so u could understand how hard to it is to get past the initial surge of weenies... also, it would be better if u try out just how many times u could get the leyline by turn one and a horror by turn two... maybe it would help u out with what we were discussing...

Splashing white sounds good... Not only does it let you play the cards already mentioned, but it also opens up opportunities to play cards like pillory of the sleepless and conjurer's ban.
@Sakeyah
Here's the probable decklist... Didn't see everything in the deck, but this is my best guess on the content of his deck.
Other than these, I couldn't remember what else he had.
He "combo"ed kiki-jiki with the genju of the spires a lot during other games with another deck of mine. But when he faced the Leyline deck, he boarded the genjus out for seething songs which made kumano very lethal.
The scariest thing he did was playing tatsumasa on me on the 4th turn thanks to seething song.

Well, I tried doing this and at most, I got Leyline of Singularity out 7 times out of 18 matches.
I'll get some more matches tommorow, I'm running out of opponents in our local shops, and I keep running into the same decks I've already encountered. (Sadly, they're mostly casual decks.)
