I've been searching everywhere for a couple cheap Umezawa's Jittes and lets face it, there are none, I'm planning on playing a G/W Glare of Subdual deck and that along with most other decks in T2 have a Jitte in them, is this card as necessary as it is good, or is there a cheaper alternative?
hmm should this really be in the competative t2 deck thread? ahh why not. Well there really is nothing to compare to the awsome jitte so it is rly better for you to just shell out the 20 bucks and get one or 40 for 2 and make your deck better.
Edit:
You could always just trade like a beats at your local card store to try and get some.
yeah - obviously I disagree with you, John. Spam Warning!.....Amazing - even in a forum where posts don't count, there's spam. That proves that getting rid of the post-count won't help getting rid of spam! Thans for this excellent example! - Craven
If you can find the Rats Nest theme decks cheap each one contains a Umezawa's Jitte. I've heard tales of places like Target and Toys R Us selling them for under 10 dollars so you might want to look around. If you can indeed find them cheap at worst you can resell them for more then what you paid.
Definitly get the Rat's Nest deck if you can. I went to Video Games Etc. the day it came out and used their buy 3 get 1 free deal. Each one was like 9 bucks /w tax. Plus you get a whole bunch of other cards that you can trade or have fun building with.:evillol:
There are 0 alternatives to umezawa's jitte in the current environment that can use them in the deck. Think about it, it's a threat / solution AND a permanent equipment in one at 2 colorless mana.
If you cannot afford one, then you seriously have to start thinking about playing different decks that doesn't warrant a jitte by its inherent design.
thats what I feared, What kills me is that at a JSS tourney I came in 8th and got 3 packs of Betrayers and 3 of Champions in the betrayers packs, I got 2 jittes and a foil final judgement, and I traded the jittes away, cause I didn't predict how many decks would use them after Rav came out. Anyway, so there is no substitution, but is it necessary.
Edit: I just read the posts that came next and it looks like, since most decks play this I should pick some up, thanks for your help guys, but now i'm just as screwed as I was before.
I am personally a jitte hater!! and if you're running a decent glare of subdual deck than you won't need it, tell me why you would need an overpowered, OVERUSED!!!! artifact when your opponents creatures are all tapped??? I personally think there are plenty of more original cards you can substitute for it, but that is just my opinion!!

It's been you winning games you don't deserve to win since the minute it came out. It's a defining card in Type 2. Of course it's necessary, and even if you don't own it and decide to use a deck that doesn't use it, you should at least proxy it to play AGAINST.
Hate it all you want, it's easily one of the most bad-ass cards in Type 2.
Not every deck needs to run Jitte, although as stated most will want it. Mt T2 FNM deck doesn't run it, and probably won't (although i could probably squeeze it in :))
But the simple truth is love it or hate, it is a very prevalent card in the format, so you do either need to run it, or be prepared to deal with it...
Eh, I was able to go to a Target on black friday and get 10 Rat's Nests for a total of $75 w/ tax, and I got 10 Jittes as promised, and I kept four to myself and made an overall profit of $50.
I bought a couple Rat's nests from targets and Walmarts (yeah family discounts)
Is now the best time to sell them, or just the Jitte's for that matter, or are the prices expected to go up after Guildpact?

i feel bad for all of you people because i founmd a nice l;ittle anime shop that has rats nest for like 9 dolla's a piece so i am just gonna go pick up a few and then sell the jittes off for like 15 a piece then buy more and just keep doing it till i make tons of money.

So are you gonna paint the Jitte artwork on the side of your private jet?
The Jitte already fetches around $18 on some online card sites. The prices probably won't go up... I think the demand is pretty much maxed out. Sell now before it rotates out! (Sell to ME!)

Hurry up or someone will beat you to it. That's what happened to me when I found a grocery store - a grocery store - with Saga starters just sitting on the shelf, for like $9.99. I ran home to get my credit card...and when I got back they were gone
Carpe diem, mastab, carpe diem.
P.S. Jitte is at that annoying level where it's really too good, but not quite dominant enough for them to ban. Hopefully Gruul will serve up some sweet artifact hate to help deal with them.

Actually I found a small smoke & Gift store that was selling them for $8 canadian. I bought all the ones he had.. but he doesn't restock

this is what i was going to do since i found a hello-kitty store (yes, hello-kitty stores usually do have some type of ccg) that sold rat's nest for $10 a pop. i counted around 9 precons, so i waited till the next day to get them, and... THEY FRIGGIN RAN OUT. yep, 9 precons sold in under 5 hours. as for vulshok morningstar, this is the equipment i'm using to replace the jittes, and even though they're not nearly as powerful, they're actually doing pretty well (at least it's MUCH faster than both warhammer and sunforger).
I'm thinking of running a single copy of Manriki-Gusari to transmute for in my U/B agro-control deck, just because I see Jitte floating around so much in online play.
