Are you sure ravager has no place in affinity? You are wrong..affinity wins with ravager+disciple.

yea i see what you are saying but i dont have a very ravager heavy meta so ponza/ld is nice.. i've made t8 couple of times with it but i think i'm moving my way over to the kiki jiki control area.
salt is very good..i would actually maindeck 2 or them.

Please explain to me your reasoning on the maindecked sowing salt... as i previously said somewhere else what if you play with a deck with not a legendary land.... otherwise it is a dead card... It is an unbelievable sideboard card though.
tooth and nail. Last time I check lots of people are playing it. Think about it...no more urzatrons or cloudposts.

Um..ever hear of a deck called tooth and nail? Last time I check lots of peopel are playing it. Think about it...no more urzatrons or cloudposts.
o obviously i know that people are playing it but if you go to a t2 tourney .. u wont see more that 3 where i live so there is no point of maindecking them.
>>Ok, these decklists are good except for the one with guirilla tactics and hammer of bogardons.
Not to be defensive, but this deck is doing well. Vs Affinity I have lots of burn/artifact hate (what deciples?/platings?)
Vs T&N I have LD, vs Controll I have Big fast critters and LD to suck up counters.
My worst match seems to be G/B death cloud, hence hammers and guerilla tatics.
I'm 4-0 against the last deck that won the local shops (16-24 player) tourney. Not huge but we have ~8 players, that regularly make regionals. (madison/chicago). I'm in Milwakuee.
Standard is every other week, couldn't make last round, Planning on playing this saturday.

Zozu isn't the greatest card, I can tell you. Also, both simulacrum and the sorc don't have the power to become a threat. Ponza is about winning now, not later.
As for my list, I want to say that I have a build that isn't specifically made for any deck, as my opponents r usually trying new things every week.
I also would like to point out the reason I run 3 slogger and 3 kumano. Black often prevailes in many tournaments, and as protection from extraction, I not only use 2 win condition beaters, but I even their numbers. Its worked pretty well so far.

I like your list.... but imo zozu is uselful(against control decks) in the sideboard becuase if you pound like 3 ld and then they begin to land screw.. you drop zozu and they take the 2 damage each time by dropping a land from trying to recover. Anyway if you have a lot of affinity in your area then the 4 shatter and 2 detonate are good but if not then you could definataly use another pyroclasm and another boil.. anyway yesterday was a sad day... i took apart my ponza deck becuase it wasnt winning for me. Now i'm stuck with 19 foil mountains unused and 4 slogger and 2 kumano and 2 mox. atleast i got some more trading stuff.

Ermmm...I think you are missing the point here. The deck is supposed to put them in a mana-light bind, then bash face with a beatie after maybe 6-7 turns, whereas they cannot really handle it all that well. That is why Black does so good- It does not need loads of mana to counter or whatnot, it just pays 3 and Rend Flesh's it.
I really think 3x Sowing Salts is a must have in the sideboard. It is another tool vs tooth that we can use to hose them. My freind run's 2 MB, just so he can kill Blinkmoth Nexi, which 90 percent of the time he does.
I know I may be bringing up a sore subject here, but, seriously, SDT is possibly the best abused in this deck. This deck wins by grabbing the 3rd and 4th ld, which Top can easily do. I agree- It sucks in about every other deck, but ponza needs the early LD to keep them bogged down, before the Solemns and other excel can hit. Suffice to say it usually does not stop Sakura, but 1st turn top 2nd turn ld 3rd turn ld and 4th turn dig for an LD is game.
Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.
I honestly dont think that senseis divining top belongs in the deck just becuase simply you have a ton of better first turn drops... especially w/ the excelleration of a chrome mox. Lets see with a chrome mox youve got a slith firewalker, magma jet, e bolt. IMO better than SDT
Well, I know there are aweseome 1st turn drops, but I really would not consider E-Bolt being one of them. Really anything that comes out 1st turn is not a big enough threat to burn.
The thing is, this does not need to be dropped 1st turn to be effective in this deck. It can just as easily be dropped 3rd turn, with usually enough mana to use it and fetch the last LD to pretty much seal the game. I know there are better 1 drops and 2 drops (with mox) but you cannot always guarentee to power out a mox and have something useful to do 1st turn.

Please explain to me your reasoning on the maindecked sowing salt... as i previously said somewhere else what if you play with a deck with not a legendary land.... otherwise it is a dead card... It is an unbelievable sideboard card though.

Thats just my $0.02. Honestly I'd rather maindeck the Solemn, but they look good sideboarded.
EDIT - Wouldn't it be fun if Avalanche Riders was randomly in 9th? :biggrin3:
