This is a vicious deck that has a ton of builds (much like MBC) and I've always wanted to see my name underneath a thread about a popular deck =)
Here's one of mine to throw around and look at:
G:
4x Kodama's Reach
4x Sakuri Tribe-Elder
4x Eternal Witness
3x Oxidize
1x Naturalize
1x Beacon of Creation (hey, with all these Extractions flying around...)
B:
4x Kokusho, the Evening Star
3x Death Cloud
2x Greater Harvester
4x Echoing Decay
2x Rend Flesh
2x Barter in Blood
1x Cranial Extraction
Artifacts:
3x Solemn Simulacrum
2x Duplicant
Lands:
10x Forest
12x Swamp
1x Boseiju, Who Shelters All
Sideboard:
1x Oxidize
3x Cranial Extraction
...stuff (didn't make a sideboard)
Yeah that's just my wacked build, but I know a lot of you out there love playing this deck too, so let's discuss it =)

Mr. Fu, your leaving of MTGnews' humor forum killed it. KILLLED IT!
The only good thing about this post is the edible chocolate roaches they gave out! Mmm mmm!

Wait a minute, edible roaches don't crawl! EDIBLE ROACHES DON'T CRAWL!
Birds just aren't worth running. There are no 'pivotal' turn 3 plays in this deck, which is the primary role that BoP fills(turn 2 LD, etc). I think that Molder Slug is too slow, also, and I think you need 1 more land..also, even looking at your own list, the deck is more green than black..my suggestion is that you run 13 forest, 10 Swamp...or 12/9/1/1, the 1's being 1 of each Legendary Land. I think that 4 Kokusho is 1 too many, and I think that Night's Whisper is not right for the deck. Also, is there not alot of Affinity in your area? I see that you have 0 MD Oxidize. IMO, 4 MD Oxidize is simply a must have in this format if you're running green. You absolutely need to be running Simulacrum as well..he is the perfect card for this deck...and I think that Shortfang is too slow. Also, you really, really should run 3 copies of Beacon. Once you try it, you'll understand why. It's hard to explain without you just actually using it.
I'm not a big fan of the maindecked Nezumi Shortfang anymore. Its not really fast enough vs ravager and hardly seems good enough vs other control decks. He just gets burned out vs Red X, and is rather innefctive vs Meloku and other blue based control as well.
Kinda pathetic, but i think i'd actually rather run persecute. Try running persecute in that spot instead, or better still, molder slug.
I was told today that this kid on my team called 911 twice this morning and hung up both times. They called back and his dad answered. The reason the kid called 911? He got an erection and didn't know what to do. I wish I was making this up.
Hi I am brand new to the forums and I just had to get in on this discussion cause I am making a B/G control deck.
Anyway, I have had some people tell me that running Rampant Growth over Kodoma's Reach because it fits the mana curve better being that it is a 1G spell so it gives you that extra land a turn before reach.
Here's the build I am using.
Lands:
1 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
1 Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers
1 Shizo, Death's Storehouse
11 Forest
9 Swamp
Creatures:
4 Eternal Witness
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Kokusho, The Evening Star
Spells:
4 Kodama's Reach
2 Rampant Growth
4 Echoing Decay
4 Oxidize
4 Barter In Blood
3 Death Cloud
4 Plow Under
Sideboard:
1 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
3 Viridian Shaman
3 Naturalize
1 Death Cloud
2 Persecute
2 Rude Awakening
2 Beacon of Creation
1 Beacon of Unrest
The Beacon of Unrest is for those really annoying TnN players in my area it's a funny thing after a Platinum Angel dies you take control of it. Also good if no EW's in hand for getting back a Kokusho.

This deck was maded by the me & other pros in my town. It fits exactly to the Death Cloud
and dont have any problems with the lands. It is too fast for White Winnie and correct to
ravager affinity. Here it is:
The mana curve is perfectly maded to this deck. you can go for a DC whit all your lands,
remember that you will always stay whit 3 lands (2 forest and a swamp) that is the rigth number for Troll Ascetic, Eternal Whitness, Rend Fless and the most important Kodama's Reach. You have to recover your self before you opponent.
It have a good answer for all turns like, 1st Turn: BOP, 2nd Turn: Kodama's reach or Troll ascetic, Rend Fesh, S-T Elder or Echoing Decay if you dont drop the BOP the first turn, 3rd turn: a great DC to smash some good thing to Ravager Affinity or Plow under from the Sideboard to make thoose TnN quite in the opponent hand.
//Why Sylvan Scrying in Sideboard?
We said that is something like a Ninja attack to U/G Control when you are prepared to shoot with a DC you will go to search the Boseiju.
//Yes, only 2 Nezumi Shortfang in Sideboard.
Maybe yor are saying "This guy is stupid to use only 2 of 'em", but no is the rigth number. Why? Because you dont want to loose life for the DC, because you will only use them when you shoot a DC to make that U/G stay in the graveyard.
//Rude Awakening!
The answer to that anoying Cranial Extraction that is everywhere like Ravager.
//Naturalize...
Like always is a deck with black, a white deck will be around with karma in its sideboard and other protections in enchantments.
//"Shizo + Okina = Tech & a Ferocious Kokusho"
This a great Answer to that guy named Horobi and is very good too for Kokusho even for Stabwhisker.
//Oxidize?
hmmm... for what is this card? LOL
Anyways, here is our solution for all the meta game in Puerto Rico. We maded and you got it all depends in your skills. Remember if you dont playtetst first with a deck dont play whit it or play ravager affinity he mostly of the time wins. LOL
hey awesome its belgareth!!! at least we have one nice mod :):)

Ok, I see what you're saying now, but if you read shortfang, it says "at the beginning of each opponents upkeep etc.
which means you wont be taking any life loss anyways.
Ok, I see what you're saying now, but if you read shortfang, it says "at the beginning of each opponents upkeep etc.

LOL! You are rigth hehe... anyway, for me that type of cards is vs. control decks like U/W Control, U/G Control or mirror match :evil1:
yeah, its defenitely very good, at least against UG. As a UG player, it really wrecks me when BG drops a turn two shortfang on my head. I have no way of dealing with it, and it hurts. A lot. However we need to find room first...
I've always preferred having Boseiju, Who Shelters All MD mainly cause once it is out people tend to want to get rid of it cause it sucks all attention cause it makes Death Cloud alot more deadly. I have never been fond of the Trolls though they may not be bad but Plow Under MD is hard to pass up just for some trolls. The BOP is a nice addition to the deck though.

The build you have there is basically the traditional build people will use cept for the lack of the Sakura Tribe Elders but you exchanged them for the BOP's. It will still be fairly consistant against other decks. I like to run plow under MD mostly due to all the T&N players in my area. Even though it is a high cc spell with all the accel this deck has whether it be STE, BOP, or Kodomas Reach you can pull off a plow under the turn before a death cloud if need be pretty easily.

Ok.
It seems alright. My main issues with it are:
lack of elders
cranial extractions/plow unders in the main
So, that leeads me to:
-2 Cranial extraction
-3 Plow Under
+4 Elder
+1 Decay
-1 Swamp
+1 Forest (Beacon needs to be fuelled)
I would also seriously suggest kodamas reach, perhaps for the BoPs or the Jenses. They are way too good to be ignored.
So perhaps for the SB you would have:
1 oxidize
1 Shaman
4 cranial
4 plow
1 death cloud
(4 other things of your choice, trolls?)
EDIT: Araqir, The only thing I can see that I dont like about your build is the rude awakenings. I really think they are the wrong card for this deck.
Cranial Extraction is NEVER good maindeck. unless there are 0 affinity decks in your metagame. put it sideboard, and make it 4. Extraction = good. Also, i agree, elders are very good MD. i've found it's best to run lots of MD landsearch spells, so you can get mana really fast for death cloud, kokushu, or rude awakening. Sideboard, if there's lots of control where you live, i'd suggest 1 boseji and a couple of sylvan scryings. if not, just more affinity hate
But if all else fails you still have the oxidize and other hate or you could just pack a NoSB in SB for affinity so they can't even play their smaller creatures.

Hi there, I am using this build currently:

1x Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers
1x Shizo, Death's Storehouse
11x Forest
9x Swamp
//Spells:
3x Rend Flesh
4x Echoing Decay

4x Sakura-Tribe Elder
4x Eternal Witness
4x Kokusho, the Evening Star
3x Solemn Simulacrum
//Sideboard:
4x Oxidize
4x Cranial Extraction
3x Grim Reminder
4x Nezumi Shortfang (I might change these to persecute, but I dont have any of those :/)
This build is based on what all of the guys over at the MTGNews thread had come up with/discussed.
I'm not a huge fan of NOSB, in BG, since it's a bit harsh on Witness and Tribe Elder. On the other hand, it's great against Rude Awakening and Meloku tokens as well, so I guess you could justify playing it I suppose.
I'm starting to like Molder Slug more and more as well. It's still a bit slow, vs ravager, but it helps maintain control, of the game, and makes death cloud significantly more potent.
I was told today that this kid on my team called 911 twice this morning and hung up both times. They called back and his dad answered. The reason the kid called 911? He got an erection and didn't know what to do. I wish I was making this up.
Well with the NoSB you should have used the Elders to accel you're mana enough that they won't be much of a drawback. And you will still get the EW's ability even though it just dies right after. Depending on your meta in the area you may want them as SB or MD just all depends.
