Is this guy on to something or is this a case of a rogue deck just surprising everyone?
Looks solid. Lots of removal against agro and you don't have to over-commit with this set of creatures against control. I still want to stick Liliana of the veil in any MBC deck though.
Cleansings are why I pack Kessigs. Removing SphinxRev cuts out their main card advantage machine and from there on making your Griselbrands uncounterable is the best way to win. Lil' Lili helps a ton, too.

Round one: 2-0. Guy had a cheap vampire deck. He never stood a chance
Round two: 0-2. Jund. He rakdos'd me first(he won the roll) was mana flooded game two.
Round three: 2-0 some sort of u/r burn deck. Got Gris out both games and was too much to handle for him.
Round four: 2-1 u/w/r control. lost game one won game two with an early Gris. Game three was long and slow. We both owned the board and eventually he sphinx'd his deck out and I won.
Any feedback on my deck is greatly appreciated. As far as the illness in my SB lots of tokens in my meta.

What are your favourite outs against Junk Rites? I currently side in 2 Slaughter Games (for Angel of Serenity mainly) and 2 Grafdigger's Cage, but I feel like Grafdigger's Cage is a little too narrow.
I'm currently considering between these:
1) Replacing Grafdigger's Cage with Rakdos Charm;
2) Replacing Grafdigger's Cage with Appetite for Brains; and
3) Replacing Grafdigger's Cage with Cremate (since it cycles).
Any thoughts? Junk Rites is really becoming a thing here in my local meta.
I have a question. I really would like to build this, but I am wondering if Red is the only really competitive splash. I know Slaughter Games and Rakdos' Return are amazing cards, but could a Green splash be just as good, without it becomming Golgari Agro? Or, could a White Splash be added without it becommingsomething else? I'm wracking my brains trying to think of things other colors have that would sort of "replace" those cards that red gives this deck.
Rakdos Charm. all the way. they go to rites something, wipe the whole yard causing them to start over. it causes them to hardcast everything, which at that point you should have no huge issues dealing with.
with appetite for brains you're only slowing them down a bit... thats like taking a single bullet from a full 28 round magazine.
with cremate you are only slowing them down a bit. you hit rites, they hard cast it.
you cremate a rites target, they use another rites or another target.

Due to the way the meta has shaped up, I don't think green has the sideboard cards necessary to prevail.
Slaughter Games / Rakdos's Return is the only way to hate out Esper.
Olivia is our best finisher too. I wouldn't want to play MBC without her.
Are you saying that because those get rid of the D-Spheres and Revelations out of their hands and what not? I understand about Olivia, believe me. I'm just trying to figure out whether there might be another way, without simply adding another color and becomming three colors. That, and I have most of the Golgari manabase already. lol
With that being said, what about any other color besides red?? (ahh a rhyme. :D)
In that case, there is another way to defeat Esper, 4-Color, and Bant control:
Kill them before they stabilize.
Unfortunately, I don't think a green splashed control shell with stompy midrange components is quite there. Crypt Ghast and even Heartless Summoning combined with Farseek and big Liliana to push out big and fast damage is enticing, but in a list like that red still seems better giving access to Thundermaw and Rakdos's Return + Devil's Play fireballs to the face.
Can I get some opinions on my budget list?
I went 0-3 this friday (not the exact same list, but a similar one) and I'm pretty disappointed.
Maybe I just can't make it work without the lilys/gbrands?
This deck should work quite well. I would suggest reducing number of Ultimate Prices and Murders. Issue with Lord of the Void in this list is there is no way to give him trample so he can get chumped by spirit tokens. Sever the Bloodline is going to be more efficent than single target removal. Think about Dead Weight if your meta is more aggro centered, also Curse of Death's Hold is interesting as single one on the board stops those spirit tokens, and almost whole Aristocrats.dec.
I have illness in the ranks in my side for tokens specifically, but I might replace it with curse of death's hold. My meta is very control centered (went up against some netdecked rug deck that wasn't flash, and 2 espers.) Basically Planeswalkers won round 1 and 2 for my opponents (lily and tamiyo respectively) while round 3 I was just too slow (I only had 2 sign in bloods in my list at that time for some reason.) Yeah trying to get lord to do damage is a huge problem, but I'm not sure what I can do about it. Thoughts?
EDIT: It wasn't rug, it was actually RBG (not sure what that's called, jund I think?) sorry.
Rise from the grave looks good (it's a shame that Unburial Rites flashback has white mana in it -.-)
and yeah I had 4 Duress on friday, but I never drew it due to my poor decision of having very little draw power.
I'll probably end up putting it back in. Undying evil seems interesting, I had a lot of problems with my crypt ghast getting removed.
Maybe drop some removal for 3 duress and 3 undying evil?
Has anyone thought of using a Trading Post base when building this deck? It can give us access to Phylactery Lich and the artifact theme can give us a ton of car advantage. Also there is not a lot of artifact hate in sideboards so this is under the radar.

Very good points, thank you. Will try all three options out (since they're all really cheap) and maybe do an evaluation, but I'm inclined to believe that you're right.
How about something unconventional like Sepulchral Primordial?

Your defense from PWs is Duress.
Look into Army of the Damned as a sideboard option against control. Demonic Rising too.

I've been playing Duress mainboard and really liking it.
I've also really liked the way Tragic Slip is performing.
Right now your removal suite looks like this:
(12)
3x Devour Flesh
3x Murder
3x Ultimate Price
3x Victim of Night
I might try something like this so as to have more influence over your opponent's develop on turn 1. Rise seems like a better sideboard card.

2x Duress
2x Tragic Slip
2x Devour Flesh
