One thing about Gather is that you MAY put a creature in your hand which means you can essentially view Gather as mill 5. If you treat it this way you could exploit Delve easier. You could turn 2 Gather and turn 3 drop Gurmag Angler for 1 if you cracked a fetch or 2. Mixing Delve with Reanimation could potentially work well as you'll be discarding a lot of cards and you might as well Delve the ones other than the bomb.
Scheming provides this as well. Look at the top 5 and put as many of them as you want into the graveyard.
I guess it could end up being a meta call on which to run or not run between the two. I don't have much testing with it under my belt but it worked for me as a 2 of in a tutelage deck I ran for a few weeks.
You could always run playsets of both if you just want access to 8 mill 5 cards. It might suit some decks. Delve is still in Standard and you don't have to Delve the entire graveyard so you could still reanimate the big bombs or even the Anglers/Whatever else if they get killed.
Ended up switching to Bant Scales the night before, ended up 3-3 but my buddy on the same 75 made top 8. Not sure if this can keep up with some of the list I played against, Esper and w/u control were everywhere. I'll try this build Tuesday at a smaller tourney.
I love this sort of deck. I'm not really into buying singles for standard, so I just threw some cards together.
I came up with a Dune reanimator deck.
It's a bit more Midrange than the others, with Siege Rhinos, Rattleclaw Mystics, and fiery impulses.
With playtesting, I found that Scout the Borders was an all star for turn three, getting myself the land drop and a Rhino for turn 4 .
Tormenting voice was an amazing card in the deck, because it can make any opening hand good.
One question though, how many reanimator targets should I put in the deck? I'm currently running three rhinos, one Dragonlord Atarka, one Dragonlord Dromoka, and one Eldrazi Devastator.
