Hey guys! Right now I have a Jund deck based around Soulflayer thats really fun to use but isn't as competitive or consistent as I would like it to be. Let me know how you like the deck, what I can do to improve it (especially mana base). No sideboard atm but hope to make one soon. Thanks!
maybe you want to consider dark deal? i saw a guy play Abzan Soulflaye, mainly for siege rhino reach.... but he was also running waste not which was very interesting with dark deal.
Admittedly this won't help much, but my Soulflayer idea was Dimir based, running Chromanticore, Taigam's Scheming, Silumgar, and Phenax. There's also 3 other mediocre creatrues in UB with hexproof that can be delved away.
Not to stomp on your idea, but you seem to be reaching for a large number of creatures to delve away in order to maximize the benefit of your soulflayers, and that's probably where half of your efficiency/consistency problem is coming from. The other half is coming from that fact that you're digging 3 colors in an effort to "force" it to happen.
I would recommend starting with re-arranging your creature base to include Chromanticore to streamline your delve choices, and working from there.

Battle Plan: Get out a Soulflayer with hexproof and some form of evasion and start bestowing enchantment creatures onto it. Once you have enough mana to hardcast it, Sagu Mauler can be used in the same way.
Commentary on Keywords: The possible keywords that Soulflayer can have are flying, first strike, double strike, deathtouch, haste, hexproof, indestructible, lifelink, reach, trample, and vigilance. IMO, hexproof and trample/flying are the most important since, when combined, they give you an evasive and hard-to-kill threat. Vigilance is great, but I was only able to include it in the deck via the Chromanticore due to space constraints. Double strike is very powerful, but not necessary to win, so there is only one card that grants it in this deck. Lifelink is also good, especially against aggressive decks, but, as with vigilance, is only on the Chromanticore due to space constraints. Haste is a good ability, but it is time sensitive and has no long-term impact, so I only included it on the Chromanticore. First strike and deathtouch are mostly useless here due to trample/flying and because we don't want the Soulflayer blocking or being blocked by creatures bigger than it. Reach is made useless by flying. Hexproof and the Soulflayer's 4 toughness mostly make indestructible unnecessary.
Other deck comments:
-I included Sagu Mauler here instead of Silumgar, the Drifting Death just because the Mauler is bigger.
-The deck is almost entirely B/G, with splashes of the other three colors.
-The three 1-ofs can be cut for more redundancy, or if you want to add Thoughtseize back in.
-It would probably be a good idea to sideboard some more creatures with lifelink and indestructible, since those particular keywords will be more useful in some matchups.
I hope this helps!
