I think Coordinated Assault has a place depending on the build of your deck. My one of combat trick of choice is typically Trumpet Blast, however seeing as I currently run 6 Heroic creatures (4 Crusader and 2 Hoplite) being able to potentially trigger both in one turn is really nice. Also, in the first few turns of the game, suddenly giving two of your creature first strike can turn a combat round heavily in your favor.

dasher just looks so bad, has he not been? War-name looks ok but seems like sideboard. Anyone experienced it differently? I think akroan is still very much part of the core deck, good one drop, good thing to put a hammerhand one, good thing to chuck a lot of stuff on, and stoke the flames is still a thing, so those tokens are pretty good, aside from just pushing through damage.
I think I might want to md an eidolon or two, and then side in two more where relevant, and easily side them out when not.
Dasher is good in Levy's version because the point of the creatures is just to get in some damage before they die so you can end the game by burning them out, in the Sligh version that tends to go the whole way through creatures it's definitely not as good.
Dasher is a creature that is neither horrible nor amazing. It does hammer through damage, however the must attack clause is a bit awkward since there will be times you may not want him to attack. Also, his primary benefit is swinging for two on turn two. In Rabble this works (I think), but in Sligh we would typically want to drop a creature plus pump/trick or two creatures (depending on the match). War-Name is awesome, when she is needed (you have to deal with a lot of 0/X blockers or 1/1 chumpers). I am still unsure if I really want to run her and if I do if it should be in the main as a 2 or as a sideboard card. Eidolon in the main does not strike me as a good option. It hurts your own play so much that it slows you down and I would rather only include it in matches where I know for certain it will hurt my opponent on the same level.
I'm testing a 2/2 between Valley/War-Name right now in the MB. We'll see how it goes. One of them is going away, though, as I still want to put Hammerhand back in.
Yay! We got moved to proven. As for Azban, I find that it is one of the easier matchups. Generally it is game one win, and if not a game two win, a game three win. You just need to learn to keep a threat in hand for after they wipe. Keeping a couple sideboard Great Revel and Hordeling Outburst will do wonders against them. Seriously, the look on your opponent's face is hilarious when you respond to a board wipe by placing three bodies on the board with one spell. War-Name Aspirant is great for dealing with caryatid, as caryatid can't block her. Inability to be chump blocked is part of why war-name is a 4 of in my deck. Drop Dragon Mantle on her, and you are bypassing chump blockers while packing fire-breathing, or forcing the enemy to trade their threats or power blockers for War-name.
Dasher should be decent to play post board wipe if you're expecting Anger/Drown. It's pretty important to not lose an entire attack phase if you can help it, though Hammerhand and Mantle do a decent job of mitigating the damage from board wipes already if you play them right.

I think that it is safe to change coordinated assault for crater's claw and keep the lands at 18.
Dragon mantle is awesome... the deck is not about filling the batlefield with 1/1, is about dealing 20 in 5 turns, if you can use mana on firebreathing on people, you can have a second wind by dropping more guys after a sweeper, or simple put your opponent at burn range more easily.
Someone asked for a "Proper Primer", I would be glad if you let me do it, since i play the deck on a daily basis and I plan to do it the whole season.
I don't know how many times that draw from Dragon Mantle has given me something useful, too. I've won a few games from it especially later on in the game when topdecking.
In Tom Ross's Boss Sligh list, can somrone explain to me against what decks do the 3 Peak Eruption come in? Lately they have been my least useful card in the SB.
It's slightly dated tech. Pre-rotation it was for the mirror and also it hit shock lands, and with them rotating Peak Eruption has lost some of it's usefulness.
Yeah I've been running mine without peaks for a while

Ohh okay. I've been thinking about Harness by Force as well haha. When should we side in the 4 Eidolon of Great Revel? Only against Control, or are there other decks that I'm missing?
Totally like the deck; was able to win against Mardu with resolved 2 Hordeling Outbursts and 2 Butcher of the Horde. :))
So...I read that Mono-red mulligans a lot. What are you looking for when you mulligan? And how far are you willing to mulligan? I try not to go below 5 if it were me.

We talked about this a bit back on page 2. Generally you need a bar minimum of one land, one creature and two pump. I prefer at least two creatures and have been known to keep slightly land heavy hands with the hope that I will not draw into a lot if I start with a little excess. Generally you do not want to go below 5, but I have won games before going to 4.

Personally i will side Eidolon vs Control, Jeskai of any kind, Ascendancy, and recently i have found an early Eidolon vs UW heroic and RW Burn to be a very, very strong though really only worth it to side him in on the play.

If I remember correctly, Tom Ross said he would bring it in against Mardu Midrange to disrupt their mana, keeping Butcher off the field for another turn.

I suppose Harness could work too... The Peak Eruptions are my flex slots in the SB, but I understand how it proactively works. It can become a split of Harnesses and prolly 1-2 Hammer of Purphoros to help out against Control, haha. :))
