Got it: I'm squeezing a Temur Sabertooth and Reclamation Sage in main deck on account of they combo really well together, and deal with 3 potentially disastrous opponents: Tutelage Mill, Thopters, and Constellation. As a bonus, Sabertooth combos with almost everything else here too. The Siren now takes the Sage's sideboard slot.
And for kicks I'm squeezing Yisan in there as well.

I didn't have the Nissas but ran Yasova Dragonclaw in her place. My big takeaway is that you have too many 5-drops. I don't want to see two Prog Sphinxes in my opener. When opponents kill your mana dorks, you can get stuck without enough lands to cast a Sphinx.
Fated Intervention was fun when I had Eidolon of Blossoms, so I don't know if I'd cut Sphinxes or them. I think something like Den Protector would be useful - lower on the curve, still good if you get it late, and also fun to put a Boon Satyr on. Or just more lands.
I tried adapting for an aggressive meta, and instead ran into Sultai control, Abzan control and Esper Control. Lost them all. I think in part my changes left me with too little offensive power, yet Sphinx was clearly king.
I have another suspicion that I'm playing the control game wrong.

But I'd probably keep a hand with double Sphinx if it has ramp. You really shouldn't have a problem getting to 5 mana with 9 dorks, 4 Coursers + 1 Nissa + 24 lands.
@lajube: I think the key is to have cards that are good against both types of decks, Prognostic Sphinx being one of them. Fated Intervention is especially good if you catch them without Bile Blight since its 2 guys at instant speed and they put a good amount of pressure. Against aggro its 2 instant speed blockers so its very good as well.
I won't lie though, control is probably harder to beat than other strategies. Play smart!
The above was during Dragons standard an absolutely amazing deck. I'm going to bring it back for one more trip. How should it adjust? First up, I think it needs to change to have good answers to Hangarback walker and Origins walkers. What's the best way to best them?
Reality Shift could be a good against Origins Planeswalkers and Hangarback Walker since it exiles them at instant speed. It could be risky at times but it's a option.
First, it can force most prewalkers to chump block; second, it can create an opening to actually hit walkers, including Elspeth; third, it can be mass removal especially when paired with Polukranos or Deathmist; fourth, it can be an oops I win card when you're in a midgame grind, especially good against a deck like monored where you sometimes need to end things quick; fifth, it can convert your own Hangarback walker, but can also clean up enemy tokens.
Downside of course is you have to pick your spots so it doesn't get wasted by removal. I'm going to run one to surprise people.
Okay, my planned maindeck spell package: 2 Setessan Tactics, 2 Negate, 1 Reality Shift, 1 Curse of the Swine, 1 Roar of Challenge
I propose we throw out the past and look to the future, and start assembling post-Theros/post-M15 standard Simic decks. As a Temur player, I'm very interested in a U/G deck as a companion to my Temur build.
This is huge. Literally every single one of those cards rotates out of Standard in less than 3 weeks. What does that mean?
It means we need to rethink this deck. You don't just "plug in" a replacement for any of those six cards -- we have no alternatives, so a paradigm shift is in order. We need to determine how to make this deck viable in lieu of the loss of its core. Personally, I think looking to Temur and its Ferocious/Formiddable abilities is a good stard. Sultai also provides us with some fun tools.
What We Inherit:
Sagu Mauler - A heavy beater, great closer late game but it takes a minute to get the brute out.
Bounding Krasis - Close. So close. Were it a 4/2 and activated Ferocious, it'd be a playset in my opinion. As it is, it's good but nothing mindblowing.
Frost Walker - As a Temur player, this card's early pressure is the real deal. It's a glass cannon, but it's a tradeoff. It can also be protected with...
Stubborn Denial - A crushed soul. That's what I look upon when I see a player tap for one mana, only to read the rest of this card and realize they are powerless to stop my swinging creatures.
Hooting Mandrills - Very underrated card. The fact it's can be delved out, has Trample, and activates Ferocious makes this a winner.
Become Immense - This hits really hard when you slap it on a late game Mandrill or Mauler.
Rattleclaw Mystic - No Elvish Mystic replacement, but it's a 2cmc mana dork which can provide both (or all, if we splash red) colors. It can help on a dogpile swing for the win, too.
Kiora, Master of the Depths is a no-brainer. She's far better than her previous incarnation, and is going to be a x2 must-have in this deck.
Lumbering Falls is gonna be really important against control, too.
Reclaiming Vines, despite sorcery speed, is rare in that it's land destruction. We also lose a lot of artifact and enchantment hate with Theros leaving us, so I think 4cmc is a price we can settle on.
Swell of Growth gives us an Attarka Command lite look. If it was a sorcery we'd pass, but at instant speed I think it's really got potential.
Grove Rumbler -- This could be a decent beater, but it faces stiff competition at 3+cmc.
Woodland Wanderer -- Vigilance? Oh my, I didn't expect that. And trample? And potential to be a 6/6 in rainbow decks? Wow.
Skyrider Elf -- Strictly better than Icefeather Aven unless you wanna draw time to morph it. If you splash red or black it can be 3/3, but I see this mostly being a 2/2 flyer.
I think before a new thread is in order, we brainstorm here to figure out an archetype we want to put on the pedestal.
I concur with the leonin. I'm playing megamorphs and that part is just fine, but without Sphinx I don't see a compelling reason to play blue. Kiora is fine, but apart from her I see nothing. Sagu Mauler isn't it. So I expect to shift into another color or two. Maybe GB.

I think UG might still be a thing at some point, mostly because Kiora pitching Deathmist Raptors ain't too shabby. (And maybe Jace recurring Treasure Cruise?) But it's certainly not the same deck core, so yeah, I'm fine with retiring this thread.
Hm. Swell of Growth on an Honored Hierarch, getting you four lands and a mana dork on turn 3? Nah, too fragile.
I just put together a list for ug midrange Sunday and I feel like it has real potential. I don't have the list with me to share right now, but I will post it if it shows merit after more testing.
Those I do want to point out the power of retreat to coralhelm when combined with mana dorks and fetchlands.
What if y'all changed the deck to the Simic Control decks of old, maybe some Sphinx's Tutelage-s and kioras. Or the complete opposite direction going with Simic aggro based around hardened scales and such. the mana is fairly simple so it wouldn't be unrealistic to run Scatter to the Winds in the hypothetical aggressive deck. Just because the deck can't be the same as it was doesn't mean it's dead!
