I'm unsure whether we want too much card draw in a deck like this. 3x Sphinx's Revelations runs the risk of drawing you BOTH your Worldspine Wurms, which would be devastating I think. I get that with Thassa or Jace out you can try to scry that worry away, but it's still a pretty big risk, I think.
I do like this deck in more of a control shell though, and I'm definitely interested in hearing how it plays.
but with the card draw...the likelyhood that you will have to discard is high. if you do draw into the wurm, then just discard it and it gets shuffled back into your library

I'm not going to call him dad..NOT EVER!! EVEN IF THERE'S A FIRE!!!
I love the inclusion of gods willing, as it offers much needed protection and scry. How much more can we emphasize on ramp? I sometimes findi myself waiting. I am working on a RWU variant currently.
Made this account JUST to post this. Let me know what you guys think:
4x Jalira, MP (obv)
4x Raise the Alarm
2x Triplicate Spirits
2x God-Favored General
1x First Response
1x Heliod, GotS
1x Brimaz, KoO
2x Master of Waves
2x Hornet Nest
2x Hornet Queen
1x Soul of Zendikar
1x Soul of Theros
4x Resolute Angel (two promo foil!)
1x Archtype of Courage
1x Archtype of Imagination
4x Prophet of Kruphix
1x Daring Thief (in case I have to explain, swap token creature for enemy creature)
2x Invisibility
2x Polymorphous Rush
2x Yavimaya Coast
8 Plains
6 Island
6 Forest
Basically a token deck on crack with the Prophet's untapping everything (including Jalira) on each turn allowing me to rip through my tokens (of which there are many) even faster. I've been working on this ever since I saw Jalira because back around M11 I had an epic Polymorph into Eldrazi deck that would sweep FNM every other week. I feel like every card is a gem and the only downside I might have is the high mana ramp with the lowest costing cards in my deck being 2 soldiers for 2 mana with the Raise the Alarms. But that's a good deal and if I can get there and get a Jalira pretty reliably I think this will be really good.
Thoughts?
/Edit: And ya'll can keep your wurm, it'll be out come autumn anyway.
I love the idea of First Response!
It seems like a great way to keep getting multiple triggers off Jalira, and the chump blockers can come in handy (Block, then sac).
But in that deck you have a lot of creatures that would just be terrible to hit off Jalira and some cards that are only good in certain situations (Master of Waves for example), you're going to get a lot of inconsistency.
I like the idea, but the deck needs some tweaking to improve consistency I think.

I could use some help on how to improve this deck. I don't play standard ever and the last time I plays was Besieged/Innistrad with a mono-red token Burn at the Stake deck. I haven't really looked at any other decks using Jalira so this is just what I have come up with.
I've seen polymorphist lists where they have giant bombs, but then all the other threats are either legendary or cheap spell-creatures like call of the conclave/selesnya charm. That way you have something early to sac and the polymorphing only ever hits your mega threats.
I have absolutely no idea how well it performs, but it seems really cool.
Edit: I guess that's why you have raise the alarm. missed that.

I didn't see Call of the Conclave but that might be nice to add in, give me some type of creature early. I do have Raise the Alarm and Elspeth, Sun's Champion (however she does have a CMC 6). I wanted to go the ramp route but seeing as I would hit those creatures more often then I would my bombs that isn't going to work.
There's a thread for this titled Bant Jalira that you might want to check out.
I'd highly recommend cutting all of your nonlegendary creatures except a Worldspine Wurm. They just take up space and reduce consistency. Also, I don't feel like Abrupt Decay is worth the hit on the mana.

in the control build, you dont really need ramp spells....anything thats cmc is low enough to make ramping a viable option is something that will get hit by jalira, which you dont want.....i mean i certainly dont want to polymorph into an elvish mystic or Sylvan Caryatid. unless they bring back farseek or something in the next set, i dont think there is a good way to ramp. you might be able to do something with font of fertility but anything else worth using would be playable after you already have enought lands to play jalira bahaha.

I will have to check that thread out when I get a chance, I also have no legends in this deck expect for Jalira, Master Polymorphist herself and Worldspine Wurm is already in this deck. The creatures are still a work in progress of course. Abrupt Decay was in for a helpful early game to get rid of presky cards but I also have black in for Ashen Rider.
I said to cut your nonlegendary creatures. With only Worldspine Wurm, you have several more slots for support cards as well as a 100% chance of hitting something that just wins you the game. Remember, you can't control your Jalira hits.
Agree. I don't think ramp is really necessary in this type of deck, ESPECIALLY if you're putting Jalira in a control shell. The whole point is to cheat out something big. If you're at the point where you need a ton of mana to hard-cast a Worldspine Wurm, or Ashen Rider, or Stormtide Leviathan, you're probably doing something wrong or are way behind already.
First Response does seem cool, but I still think I'd rather be casting Polukranos on turn 4.
If I only had a couple creatures there wouldn't be enough for all my tokens. I'm going to playtest this deck at my monday night draft and let you all know how it turns out.
Just a thought..but maybe a deck like this might be good for Swan Song just to protect Jalira? Normally a 2/2 flyer isn't what we want to give an opponent, but if we can protect our polymorphist for a turn and land the Worldspine Wurm, a 2/2 flyer on the other side suddenly becomes pretty irrelevant.
A playset of Swan Song and Gods Willing will take you a long way with this sort of deck. They both do what is required to protect your creatures and the 2/2 bird isn't going to be an issue most of the time.
There are a few ways you can go here, really. You can go Bant which will be less consistent mana wise but has access to really useful spells like Call of the Conclave or Advent of the Wurm and so forth - Kiora, The Crashing Wave shouldn't be underestimated either.
Either that or you simply go the Azorius route with more control. A friend of mine was thinking of emulating a modern deck that revolves around a similar card called Polymorph, so that might be worth looking into. He was also thinking of using something like Polymorphous Rush to duplicate the fatty on board for the win. It's also worth noting you don't need green to use Worldspine Wurm in this sort of deck.
I didn't really look at First Response before but that's definitely an option. Perhaps if you also used an Akroan Horse to really pile on the tokens you get?
Otherwise looks good to me. I'm still a little apprehensive about tutoring into anything that isn't Worldspine Wurm but with your version you have options. Bow of Nylea might be worth considering as it's highly flexible and gives your Polukranos, World Eater deathtouch, which you can use to make it monstrous when attacking and ping stuff. Will also give your weenies deathtouch.
It will be interesting to see how First Response plays out.
i was talkin to a buddy last week about this deck because i was playing it. he brought up a card to me that makes me really want to try to drop green and go red instead. from bant to americah. that card is blast of genius. i know right? but after playing a bit i kept drawing into worldspine wurm and nothing to do with it except have it sit in my hand and wait for me to overload my hand with a hefty rev so i would have to discard it. so i figured if id have to discard it anyway, why not throw 11 dmg at their face lol. so after a couple minutes of thinking, i came up with this build. there is no sideboard because i havnt thought that far into it quite yet, but i figured it would be relatively similar to the bant boards because in them there isnt much green anyway. so here we go...let me know what you think
