ive been working on a list for this guy, mostly fog/ramp/hexproof with nyleas presence and chromatic lantern for 5 color fixing. not sure if i sould go UG or bant though. UG might have an easier time getting there
It seems strange to run Blood Baron maindeck since you can't bestow Chromanticore onto it. I think this list is interesting though
Honestly, bestowing Chromanticore is often win more. Just playing him is like playing Baneslayer angel, the combination of flying + first strike + lifelink + vigilance is almost impossible to race. If they don't have a spot removal for chromie or a big flyer like desecration demon out, they just lose. Bestowing something else onto Chromanticore, like eidolon of countless battles, does happen.
I tried my build out. Seeing as it wasn't built around Chromy, it didn't have quite enough mana variant to drop it easily. I did some changes, dry ran it and was happier with the results, but it was still not quite right. I've made a few more alterations, and this is where it's at.
im not sure what to put in those 3 sideboard slots at the moment since i haven't play tested this exact build. I really like the focus on Bant that it utilizes. And the heavy focus on green makes it pretty stable if the mana variance trips up.
It actually seems to perform pretty well. With the 12 self mill effects it gets through the deck for what you want so fast, and the Nighthowlers and Nemasis of Mortals get massive. Chromanticore has been pretty easy to cast too.
I just need to some help with the SB, what would people recommend? I think I need Golgari Charms for control, and Thoughtseizes for them being generally good against control as well as RG decks. I think Dooms Blades too, any other suggestions would be fantastic.
The list I posted previously was featured in a ChannelFireball article. Apparently they are running Blood Baron maindeck because ramping into it against mono-black just gives you free wins sometimes which is not the worst plan ever
Ladies & Gentlemen.
I present you Chromantic Midrange. have been 7-2 with it on Cockatrice, losing to a Phenax Mill Deck and Rw Devotion.
Overall it has been working pretty awesome and I love people's reactions to when I bestow the Core
Current MU results:
2-0 vs. GW Hexproof
2-0 vs. Some weird combo deck running Ajani's Chosen and Inspired creatures that puts tokens
1-2 vs. Phenax mill
2-1 vs. Esper Ephara (The one Mihara built)
0-2 vs. Rw Devotion
2-0 vs. RG Monsters
2-1 vs. Naya Midrange/Monsters
2-1 vs. Rakdos Midrange/Control
i think hoplito is right use hero of iroas, prophetic prism, chromatic lantern and nylea's presence 2gether also if u wanted 2 make a casual modern deck u could make a slivers deck with crystalline sliver and stuff
Testing this one out... 15-4 on Cockatrice btw.
I'm tempted on trying either Xenagos Planeswalker or Elspeth on this list but it seems so good right now.
The only real tough matchup it seems to have are the burn-based decks such as Red Devotion or Boros.
Why on earth would you not run Voice of Resurgence? Seems like the best card for that deck. Also, Karametra is kind of terrible in a beatdown deck
Voice is actually terrible for the deck if you actually expect to land the Chromanticore on a creature not easily removed. Lion is just much better if the point of the deck is to land a Chromanticore. That being said, you're right, Karametra was terrible and has already been replaced.

and gameplay vs. Boros Burn:
I never thought about Civic Saber, but now I really, really want to try it out.
It seems hilarious and possibly good.
