This deck is bad, but how bad is it REALLY? Planeswalkers + walls is a fine combination, especially with Kiora and Jace to run damage control. AEtherize is actually okay here, buying extra time to mill or push up our planeswalkers.
Rapid Hybridization is good with Walls, AEtherize and Jace. You can even Hybridization Phenax for the lulz.
Quickly, buy your UB gods before they spike to $50!!!
Doorkeeper vs Murmuring Phantasms: I see the appeal of both, but I honestly think Phantasms is better.
At it's best, Doorkeeper is milling about 4 cards a turn for three mana. If the deck has three mana to burn every turn, I'm guessing things are looking pretty bad and milling a bit is not going to make the difference.
Murmuring Phantasms gets +1 mill from Phenax and blocks a few things Doorkeeper can't (Blood Baron, Reaper of the Wilds, Ghor-Clan, Fanatic, Smiter, Lilianna's Reaver). I guess you could add any 3-power + Chandra's +1. I can see arguments for both, but Phantasms seems more solid to me.
Concerning Kiora, she's removal spell/card draw which are both things this deck needs badly. Jace also works, but I'm concerned by flying creatures. Maybe some Arbor Colossi?
Mill is a weak deck that doesn't work
Have fun losing at anything beyond FNM, and you'll need luck to pull off wins there
mill is not a weak deck in general. There's a reason Glimpse the Unthinkable hit more than 20 dollar in magiccards.info M-Price.
You definitely don't play in last season standard to see that the Esper Control win con is Nephalia Drownyard.
But mill need to outrace aggro in the 20-60 race.
And on this deck, untill Supreme Verdict rotates, I think this strategy is not that viable. Unless, of course, your meta doesn't have supreme verdict.
EDIT : Deck which plays supreme verdict is most likely control, and I think mill is a viable option against control, plus, we can count Sphinx Revelation as "voluntarily mill self"
You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.

That reason is because it's a casual favorite, more so than Glimpse being a super busted tournament card. There are T2/T3 modern mill decks, but mill's tournament pedigree just isn't really there.

Drown yard control could win with anything though, they only chose mill because it was stuck on a land.
There was ghost quarter which saw sideboard play due to drownyard and kessig wolf run.
The last time I remember mill really being a thing in standard was during a short window of time around Zendikar when there was Hedron crab, archive trap, etc in a format with fetch lands before Rise of the eldrazi hit.
I don't think anyone's really intimating that this is a Tier 1 deck. It is cool though, to be able to defend aggression early game, then mill your opponent out with your defenders late game. I think the major weaknesses are vulnerability to Supreme Verdict and over-reliance on Phenax.
Kekule_the_Magician on the inclusion of Devouring Light in a TurboFog Deck:
Quote from Kekule_the_Magician »
As a person who typically plays very creature oriented decks, I HATE when an opponent has Devouring Light. It is infuriating to finally get through with a creature on to have it exiled.
I've come to hate White in general now because it gets everything to the point where it is almost unfair. White has boardwipes (Wrath of God, End Hostilities), targeted exile and removal (Devouring Light, Banishing Light, Last Breath), lifegain spells, lifelink, low cost/high power enchantments and auras, flying creatures; my goodness what don't they get!?
Yea I agree to stick to UB. And Murmuring phantasms can't block Reaper of wilds because it can gain deathtouch. But I think you conviced me that it's on par with doorkeeper.
This card will be the worst rare in RTR and less remembered than skaab ruibator in three months. It struggles to be on the same power level as mass of ghouls, even in limited.
That its not simply "not good enough for competitive", or underpowered. But that this is offensively bad, the real stinker tier.
Still, my best evaluation is that its approximately on the same power level as a 4/4 for 4 vanilla beater.

The only Planeswalker that should be 100% included is Jace, MA. Ashiok I'm not totally convinced with.
You might like Duskmantle Guildmage so you can win instantly, btw.

Take a mechanic from the pre-mirrodin era, and a mechanic after the mirrodin era, and create a card that flavorfully melds both mechanics.
Casuals love mill and there is hence a high demand for this, it's already been established.
It ran it as a wincon because there was no Aetherling, little if any landhate, and it was recursion.

I'm curious why you're supporting a Defender deck with removal. Why not counters/scry, like they did on the mothership? (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/rc/283)
Also, Axebane Guardian over Kiora's Follower. You should only be milling on their end step or to finish the game anyway.
Maybe just a UB version like this:
4 returned phalanx
4 wall of frost
3 hover barrier
3 phanax, god of deception
3 doom blade (or other black spot removal
4 ashiok, nightmare weaver
4 jace, architect of thought
2 jace, memory adept
1 mind grind
4 temple of deceit
3 swamp
14 island
