redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
What 6/6 demons? Just play Doorkeepers and Omenspeakers to clog up the ground. Lazav, Dimir Mastermind could fit in, he brings in massive devotion and benefits from the mill against most decks.
Then your opponent plays elixir and you pick up your deck and go home.

Seems like a pretty good thing to take with Duress if you ask me.
This deck will be control. Everything that mono-blue and mono-black have at their disposal are in this. Counterspells. Thoughtseize.
And even if you do play elixir, then what? You used 3 mana and one card. Maybe you killed an Aberration if you were lucky and your opponent overextended. This is still a deck that can mill 20-30 cards a turn once it gets going. The biggest concern is having the walls be overwhelmed, but black just got drown in sorrow, which works perfectly with this deck since it will not have anything with toughness < 3, and it gets through token strategies.
Lazaav + Jace's 10 card graveyard activation on yourself could mean an indestructible+hexproof god, or an aberration that you just can't kill. I see some tough matchups, but I do think the deck has plenty of potential.

Looks like Supreme Verdict would be pretty good against this and there is nothing you could do about it.

If you are trying to mill someone out. It would be much faster to just use Big Jace. It is much easier to protect one planeswalker than it is to protect your god AND all the walls you are using to mill them with.

Bring back Transmute as a U/B mechanic and take your mill back to the depths of hell where it came from!

Your 0/7 wall does. This god does not impact the board, and does nothing if you have no creatures on board. How is that better than an immediate mill 10 in a deck that is trying to mill. This card is worthless, not even good in a mill deck.

Why does one need walls in this deck? Why not other creatures? What about Lazav+phenax?
Lazav, and another creature with at least 1 devotion launch off phenax, and Lazav's hexproof. And if you mill out another creature with a large toughness, maybe desecration demon, then you've got a 6/6 hexproof, that you can tap for top six, and a god (if you've got enough devotion) that can tap for seven.

Mill is bad when it doesn't impact the board. ie, "2UU Sorcery : Mill 10". If you have a control deck with big walls you aren't losing any board state in order to mill. That's why this card is good, for all the same reason Jace the Miller is good.
Another terrible u/b card thanks wizard. Are they that afraid of making u/b powerful that they'll refuse to make a decent card? The only decent card they've made recently has been notion thief. They made cipher bad and now this mill crap. I mean who even plays mill?? And I mean competively not for fun

Again, at that point why are you not attacking with your new 6/6 FLYING HEXPROOF demon and killing them in 3 turns instead of 8.

No point in arguing with mill lovers. I've tried to reason with them myself in the past, it's a lost cause. They don't care at all about winning consistently
You are right giving lands "mill 1" would be too strong.. but I'd of prefered it wasn't mill at all. Since mill is either underpowered or overpowered with no inbetween.
Depending on how many Mutavaults you have on the field, Phenax can sorta give your lands "mill 1", right?
I'm just trying to give Phenax and mill strategies a break here. Milling gets so much disrespect that someone's gotta give it some credit, no matter how small.
You actually can't respond to a player sacrificing a creature. The pre-combat trigger is to give your opponents a choice to sacrifice a creature. Once the choice has been made, the trigger already resolves.

Alright guys, I've figured this out. Turn 5 win, assuming no removal during process, etc.:
Wall of Frost, Kiora's Follower, Phenax, on board.
Play Duskmantle Guildmage, activate first ability.
Tap Kiora's Follower, get U for Triton Tactics
Tap Wall of Frost, deal 7 damage.
Triton Tactics on Kiora's Follower and Wall of Frost.
Tap Wall of Frost, deal 10 damage.
Untap Wall of Frost with Kiora's Follower ability.
Tap Wall of Frost, deal 10 damage.
If for some reason they're still alive, tap with Phenax for another 7 damage.
A total of 34 damage.
In fact, forget the walls and the blackjack.

Ah, the ole use a bad card to make a bad card good trick eh?
In all seriousness this is a huge letdown for UB.

That has to be something.
Also works quite well with Arbiter of Ideals and Prognostic Sphinx.

You're playing walls. Why play more walls than your opponent has creatures? At worst, SV will be a 1-for-1, 2-for-2 or 3-for-3.
Again, at that point why are you not attacking with your new 6/6 FLYING HEXPROOF demon and killing them in 3 turns instead of 8.
That point is not lost. It's just that if you have a big enough board to make him a creature then why do you need to mill at all?
I'm just trying to give Phenax and mill strategies a break here. Milling gets so much disrespect that someone's gotta give it some credit, no matter how small.
They might tap it down, And in response you tap and mill for six.
Tap it down? Oof. How many instant speed "tap target creature/permanent" effects see play?
It's desecration demon. It's part of the ability.
Touché
Same deck as chromanticore right?
I can't tell if you are trolling or not. So I think I will leave it at: N.O.

Seems like a fun dumb deck for FNM'ing with.
