1RG
Creature - Centaur Warrior
Trample
Tribute 1
When Fanatic of Xenagos comes into play, if the tribute cost wasn't paid, Fanatic of Xenagos gets +1/+1 and haste until end of turn
3/3
1GR for a 3/3 trample with an upside is always decent. He'll almost always come down as a 4/4 trample for 1GR (which pretty much makes him the Gruul Loxodon Smiter) except in situations where your opponent has creatures capable of blocking it.
I personally think it has a lot of potential seeing as how rare trample is outside of Nylea (who hardly sees play), Kalonian Hydra (who hardly sees play), and Ghor-Clan Rampager. It provides two devotion to Xenagos if he's released this coming set, and will frequently come down on turn 2. Personally, I think a good way to think of him is as a cheaper GCR without the pump utility.
I believe this card is good enough for G/R monsters, and possibly G/r devotion depending on how good Xenagos the god is.
I think this guy is pretty good. I kinda like him a little more than Boon Satyr whos 2 toughness has never really jived with me very well. He is kinda like a Gruul Smiter in a way.

My thoughts exactly. Boon Satyr has been hitting SB status because he doesn't fair well vs. aggro. The Fanatic is much more maindeckable since he can serve as beatdown and wall.

Its really weird to compare this card to Boon Satyr, they do not fit the same role AT ALL.
I agree, it seems like a good option, and it's a nice turn 2 option if you lead with mystic in either deck. either a 4/4 trample or a 3/3 trample haste on turn 2 seems pretty awesome either way. It only would compete really against witchstalker or domri in monsters, and could be cast from BTE mana in devotion, which is also pretty neat.
I don't know if they will release Xenagos though as a god, since the color scheme of the other gods released correspond with the new dual color scry land color, and the gruul scryland was already released in theros. I could be completely off base though

You would actually want both Boon Satyr and Fanatic in the deck because they work well together. Fanatic has trample, so the bestow is a great follow-up play.
This card has potential, but definitely more on the G/R Monsters side rather than the Devotion side. If you want to be swingy like this, I think you're basically ditching the Devotion angle completely.

Wasn't there a leaked card art that shows Xenogas in God form? Seems like a strong possibility.
Fanatic of Xenagos is not comparable with Boon Satyr, but competes with each other over the 3CMC slot. Boon Satyr does not quite perform, only to find it useful as a surprise blocker and most of the time will trade him off. Disadvantage over Ash Zealot and Precinct Captain but dodges Tidebinder Mage. I think Fanatic of Xenagos will be better, considering he will always be a 4/4 trample. A nasty uncommon aside Burning-Tree Emissary and Ghor-Clan Rampager.

No, but they fit the same slot in the curve, a slot that is pretty lacking right now (aside from Domri)
