It's basically that old Guttersnipe + Talrand + Electromancer deck, but now with Young Pyromancer too. Play cheap spells - Cancel/Dissipate at Counterspell cost, anyone? - and spam tokens/burn damage from them.
Side note: What replaces Searing Spear post-rotation? I've got Shock for Pillar, Quicken for Thought Scour, etc. but nothing to fill the spot of Spear. Annihilating Fire?
Time Manipulation Device Mark Three: Hour Glass Reversal
Idea was found looking into the past useing the time turner to go to egypt. After study have made improvments to device and are ready for testing. Waiting for Slaker to come back to throw him through it. I hope he turns out better then the elf i captured.

One thing I can reccommend is Nivmagus Elemental, He is great due to the word "cast" on YP, Snipe, And Talarand. This means you can play a spell, exile with the elemental, he gets his counters and then you get the casting effect off one of your squeezer guys.
That could definitely be handy, but I worry about upsetting the creature-noncreature balance - I don't want to put in too many creatures, or I'll quickly be out of instants/sorceries to trigger their abilities with. That, and in this deck, I'm not sure if countering my own spell would be worth a couple 1/1 counters on one creature.
Alright, just got back from FNM. Here's how it went.
Round 1: Faced a Selesnya deck that was basically a modified event deck. Countered pretty much everything, burned the rest, fairly easy win (he had no removal for my token-makers).
Round 2: Faced Jund deck, was able to counter threats fairly well (only one Thragtusk resolved), lost the one game where I didn't draw enough counters to deal with his threats. Still won 2-1.
Round 3: Went against a proper Selesnya deck, stomped me pretty good with the uncounterable Loxodon Smiters and the 5/5 creatures I couldn't burn. Lost 0-2.
Round 4: I'm not even sure what this guy's deck was, but I won the first game and he got incredibly unlucky in the second - mulled to 5 and still had one land over three turns (while I was dropping a creature or making tokens almost every turn), so he conceded.
Round 5: We agreed to draw, since we were both guaranteed to hit top 8 either way, then played casually with other decks.
Top 8 round 1: Got my ass handed to me by BR Zombies. Cavern of Souls within the first three turns in both games, so my counterspells were near useless. Blood Artist made it so that Rolling Temblor/overload Mortars would just kill me. Sided in Pillars, but they didn't show up in game two. He basically out-aggro'd me while invalidating my control spells.
So, things I'm thinking about:
- Talrand to the sideboard, for use against aggro decks
- 4x Pillar instead of 3x
- Perhaps more land in place of Talrand (though there was actually only one game where I got mana screwed - only drew one blue source with a hand full of UU cards)
- Nivmagus Elemental, perhaps in sideboard, so I can get myself a creature big enough to deal with things that Mortars can't kill
One more thing, I love the Card Quicken. It is my replacement for thought scour since we don't usually want to mill ourselves and unless it is another odd win con its just a one mana cantrip. Quicken does the same thing while also allowing you to play sorcery spells as instants. All around an MVP in my Izzet Spell Squeezer Deck
I wanted 2x Nivmagus and 3x Thought Scour, but I couldn't find another Nivmagus in time, so I just replaced it with a Thought Scour. I did really well - only lost to a Invisible Stalker enchantment deck, and then won against it in top 8 thanks to having counterspells on hand when he tried to enchant it - but it'll do even better next week now that I have a second elemental.
Yep. The most common occurrence is that I'll either exile a spell that my opponent tries to counter, or I'll use a burn/draw spell to pump Nivmagus and keep him alive.
i build this type of deck with ciphers.. noob question > if i have a guttersnipe in battlefield and my hidden strings is attached to my nivix cyclops and did attack.. will the guttersnipe trigger the 2 damage to each opponent when my cyclops dealt damage this turn?

Yep, as long as the cyclops deals damage to a player, you get another Guttersnipe trigger, and you may tap/untap 2 perms (I usually untap lands )
I love this deck, and i will be playing something very similar come rotation. In that regard I have a question (I know this is not rotation forum so i will try to also make my question relevant to the current standard).
What do you see as this deck's weak points / worst match-up? And which cards in the current/coming standard could counteract these weaknesses?
My guess (and i may very well be wrong) would be that you may have trouble with control'ish decks. I used to play a RUG spellsqueezer deck with nivix cyclops, quirion dryad and nivmagus elemental and the deck just got destroyed by anyone packing high amounts of removal (it butchered aggro though so it was still fun).
I wonder if some amount of Runechanter's Pike (after rotation the new chimera) could help some here as they will be fueled by the spells you have already spent to fuel you other critters. I can't help but see Guttersnipe as a pretty horrible top deck when you have exhausted most, if not all, of you resources in hand.
Also, is there a reason you are running cancel over Counterflux? I Know the latter is more color intensive, but would you ever keep a hand with no red source anyway? Red (Pyromancer/electromancer) seems quite important to you and the "Cannot be countered" on counterflux can be important at times (Few things are more satisfying that watching an opponent cast a big spell and keep up mana to counter you counter and then showing him a counterflux)
Last question: How strong is electromancer in your deck? To me he has always just ended up being a lightning rod for removal against control or a glorified chump blocker against aggro. I always ended up booting him for Augur of Bolas. The extra spell is awesome and he is better at stalling aggro.
Thanks in advance for you answers

Turn // Burn is solid as well, but Shock is better than Burn, so I'd mainly use it for Turn or the fuse combo.
