At first look heroic just seems like a bonus type of ability but thanks to some of the other cards in Theros, the heroic ability can be abused. This deck aims to cast a few cheap creatures that do things when targeted with spells. The spells specialize in targeting multiple creatures or providing utility. The deck wins by attacking with big beaters boosted by instants.
This deck looks great. I am the biggest fan of synergy that you will meet. I am a little worried that this may be too scattered. While I looked at everything I kept trying to find ways to make it 2 colored. Do you think it is possible?

The least important color is green, although I think it is worth splashing just to cast warriors' lessons and ranger's guile. Will have to do playtesting to find out if green can be splashed for these 1 mana spells.
What do you think the creature / cards that target creatures ratio should be?
Apart from the fact that your deck is missing a card, I think you should have at least 20 creatures to make sure you're constantly threatening your opponent. Also, I'd go with either a UW or a RW build. Green doesn't really add that much to this kind of deck right now.
Good points. With 20 creatures though wouldn't you want to be casting Warriors' Lesson for draw and Mutant's Prey for removal? Both of which are green.
I could be wrong, but I think that Martial Glory and Common Bond can trigger Heroic twice. If they do, I might consider running a few.
You are wrong (for the same creature). Heroic triggers on casting a spell, not on targetting - it's just that the condition which has to be met is that the spell must be targetting the heroic creature. This condition is true whether you target the creature once or seventeen times with the single spell.
This is the bant aggro deck I brewed up last night, and I've been tweaking it for the past few hours on cockatrice:

Favored Hoplite + Mutant's Prey seems particularly good

4 Fabled Hero
3 Witchstalker
Instants (8)
4 Gods Willing
4 Ranger's Guile
Auras (7)
4 Aqueous Form
3 Unflinching Courage
4 Hidden Strings
Lands (22)
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Temple Garden
4 Breeding Pool
2 Temple of Mystery
6 Plains

There might be room somewhere in there for Warriors' Lesson, possibly in the side replacing the Triton Fortune Hunters or Odeals of Thassa.
E: It also occurs to me that Swan Song might make a very good showing here.
