Me and a friend just came back from our local shop's gameday. I ran an Izzit deck and he was on Boros. With help from another Boros deck, the 3 of us took down the hydra on turn 4, starting at normal (3 heads to start). It's not difficult if you're packing some burn for sure. Another group of 3 did it on turn 3 (!). Good times were had for sure.
Came back from gameday and won the game day with esper control.
G1 vs Event deck 2-0 (very easy, the guy came in last)
G2 vs Selesnya 0-2
This game was very very hard for me.. fleece, voice, advent, boon satyr,
ajani.. he was just too fast for me and i didn't have the proper spells
G3 vs Ramp into nothingness 2-0
The guy was 2 times stuck on land and put down rampers which i killed.
Caryatid into Carytid into elvish mystic and satyr just met the boardwhipes
G4 vs Mono red 2-1
This was the most exciting match
Perfect curve first game put him straight on 0-1, second game not such a good curve 1-1 and thirth game mulligan to 5 for both and i had a decent hand, he didnt.
G5 Big boros - We drew to both get in top 8
-----------> not such an exciting parcour for me so far.
Quarter finales vs Esper control 2-1
Very hard matchup but i had the more difficult for him deckbuild. He had only Aetherling and Jace, I once milled with my jace and ones killed him with an elspeth and 3 backup counters.
Semi finale vs Selesnya 2-0 (same guy i just had the better game in drawing)
Final vs BW Control 2-0
My opponent played very bad and took the wrong descisions. One of my starthands was Water Grave, Temple of Silence, Hallowed Fountain, Detention sphere, Hero's Downfall, Supreme Verdict, Blood Baron that was one of my best hands and i drew a land after.
All in all very good and impressive deck. Would i change anything to it?
Probably not, the counters were not that waw but it fit the deck.
Sideboard wise i would -2 devour flesh +1 doom blade +1 Blood baron (maybe even -2 thoughtseize +2 Soldiers of pantheon but i'm not sure about that
The card which i was least enthousiastic about besides Devour Flesh, was Thoughtseize.
I played mono red yesterday and went 6-0 for first. My oldest son ran boros to a third and my youngest ran slivers to a fifth. Overall a good showing for us.
I played Gruul devotion (Team Channel Fireball version) yesterday. I assembled the deck about 90 minutes before the event start. I used Magma Jet instead of Xenagos, the Reveler (due to not having time to pick up the card), and Miscutter Hydra instead of Destructive Revelry.
I ended up going 3-1 in the Swiss rounds, barely making the top 4 on tiebreakers over another person who also had 9 match points. I ended up winning the single elimination rounds, even though I punted away the first game of the last match.
I only saw a God card once on my opponent's side (Heliod) but I beat it because I had killed all his other creatures, and I had him low enough to finish him off with Fanatic of Mogis. Fanatic for six damage is nuts.

Focused on limited for now. Occasionally play some standard/modern as well.
I went 3-1 at gameday, and got second place, losing to a blue devotion/master of waves deck.
I ran budget maze's end, which was very effective against every deck. I only lost because of a mis-play on my part, and my opponent getting very lucky with drawing multiple masters out. Although, I didn't get the gamemat, at least the packs I pulled had the best prizes(over twenty seven uncommons in four packs, and an overgrown tomb).
I ran my G/B "The Rock Devotion"-deck. In the swiss-rounds I went 3-2 winning Mono U, G/W Aggro and RUG Superfriends and losing to Mono U and UWR Control. I made it to the Top8 due to best opponent score of all players having 9 points. In the Top 8 I faced Mono U in the quarters and beat it 2-1, Mono U in the semis and beat it 2-0 and Junk Midrange in the finals and beat it 2-0. Overall I was pretty happy how my deck has worked out. Gaze is just a bomb against Mono U and running The Rock more focused on devotion is really a blast!
The playmat looks so awesome! I'm really excited I've won it
I was going to play MonoU Devotion, but at last minute I couln't find Master of Waves to play with, so I played with my monored deck.
U/W Control 2-0
Crushed, it was clearly a bad match!
MonoU DEVOTION 2-1
Just one game was exciting, two others were pretty fast. In the last I Put him down to 2 life even tough he cast 3 wall of frost, he was doing pretty well, but then he made a mistake, I knew he had a Cyclonic Rift and enough mana do overload he cast something, put +1 in Jace and then passed the turn I drew another Phoenix, cast and attacked with both me Phoenix, he blocked with a specter and bounced my phoenix, if he went to 1 life he would probably win of the overload.
Mono Rg 2-1
Last games he punted and I win, that's all. That's was breathtaking.
RG Monters Superfriends 2-1
I didn' get a break! Last game one Pek Eruption destroyed his gameplan!
Match 1: 2-0 vs a Jund version of a G/R devotion. Three colors made it too slow for him I think
Match 2: 2-0 vs mirror. He made a few mistakes first game and got mana short game 2.
Match 3: 0-2 to a U/W control type deck. This guy had a very unusual deck. Trading posts, elixir, etc... Just had no answer for that many artifacts and garruk whiffed bad in game 2.
Match 4: 2-0 w/r aggro. Game 1 was a bit slow as I got flooded but went BTE,BTE,ooze turn 2 which pretty much stalled him. Game 2 he was not only mana short but my deck was rolling.
Thoughts moving forward: folks G/R is legit but a few changes I think I will be making. I think this deck needs a 3rd Nylea. So many games would have ended much faster if I had trample. Xenagos also may be better served in the SB. His mana boost is generally not needed and the extra token hasn't been too useful either. Good card vs control so would put 2 in SB. Will probably add a 3rd nylea and a mistcutter hydra to replace him.

Standard: Gave it up
Modern: Eldrazi Tron, UW Tron, GR Tron, BW Tokens, WU Death and Taxes
Ended up going 4-1 with my White Enchanting Beats. Went undefeated until finals where I had to drop due to the game day starting late and having to be at a funeral a hour away in a hour 15 mins.
R1- WEB vs Mono Green Budget Deck 2-0
R2- WEB vs Mono Black- the deck scared me but the guy playing it didnt play it well. Felt like this is the only round I didnt deserve the win. But going to take it. Win 2-0
R3- WEB vs Simic Control- This deck was if anything annoying. Alot of control and not much actions. Second Round was the only chance the guy had at beating me he milled me out to 4 cards left with Jace. But swung out to kill my Elspeth leaving himself open for a 6/6 doublestrike Fabled hero and a 4/4 doublestike Fencing Ace. 1 shot kill. Win 2-0
R4- WEB vs GW Aggro- This had to be the most fun I had playing my deck for the day. The only fear that came across me was when he got Unflinching Courage on a Boon Saytr/Monstrous Fleecemane. To Top Deck a Glare of Heresy winning me the 2nd round and the match. Win 2-0
Finals I was going to be playing another GW Aggro deck but as I said I had to forfeit the match as I had to leave for a funeral (The Wife's Best friend's Mother passed, if I didnt show it would have been really really bad.)
R1: 2-0 vs R/G. He had Domri/Stormbreath/Chandra. I couldn't have won easier.
R2: 2-1 vs Blue Devotion Decklist with a single card changed so he could say it wasn't. He took the first game as I got mana screw. Stomped him next 2 with sideboard hate.
R3: G/W Wurms. 2-1. Gaze of Granite won both games with help from Ratchet Bomb. "I'll gaze of Granite for 0. All 3 of your wurms die sadly." He didn't believe it and called a judge. : P
R4: 0-2 vs American Control. Annoying draw/go bs. Even the sideboard hate from Control didn't help me.
R5: 0-2 vs Same guy. Found out he cheated though, as he had 8 JAoT in the deck, 6 Verdicts, and 5 Elspeth. He was kicked out of the tournament. : P

Vintage. That's about it. Maybe Standard, if it could get it together into something interesting enough to play.
Went 6-1 for the win with Mono U Devotion, made a few changes for my meta and it really crushed.
R1 - vs Grixis control: His deck was too slow to really keep up with my creatures. He also misplayed a few things (Tapped out for Anger of the Gods when I had a Judge's Familiar on board, etc.) Fairly easy win, especially after my control suite came in from the side. 2-0
R2 - vs Esper: I've played this guy at FNM a few times, I'm pretty sure his deck is incomplete. Only 1-2 Jace, 2 verdicts, etc. He didn't really end up playing much the first game. Second game I had a frostburn weird and judge's familiar in play by turn 2. He was on a 4 turn clock and I just kept my grip of cards in case of a verdict, I guess he never drew any answers. 2-0
R3 - vs R/G Ramp: This match was frustrating. I was playing a good player, but my deck had the advantage, I think. I won the first game handily, but drawing into 11 islands on game 2, then getting stuck on 2 land for 5 turns in game 3 (after scrying 2 spells away with an omenspeaker) cost me this match. Tournament was 4 rounds, cut to top 8, so I was still very in the running at this point. 1-2
R4 - vs Azorius control - This deck has very little targeted removal other than Detention Sphere. I pretty much ran him over in game one. In comes control suite for game 2 and he dies to a pair of mutavaults he has no answer for. 2-0
R5 - Quarterfinal vs Bant Control - Very interesting deck with fleecemane lions, detention spheres, blind obedience, mana blooms he was trying to chain with blind obedience for extort triggers, Heliod, Sphere of Safety.. I don't remember what else but it did manage to stall both games for awhile. Unblockable Thassa got there eventually, though game 2 I won at 1 life. 2-0
R6 - Semi Final vs Mirror Match Mono U - Not much to say about this match. Game 1 was turn 5 Master of Waves into turn 6 Master of Waves. His unblockable Thassa couldn't do enough damage to get there. Game 2 was even worse; cloudfin raptor > tidebinder > nightveil > turn 4 Master for 7 tokens. The following 2 Master of Waves I dropped were mostly unnecessary, but still amusing. 2-0
R7 - Finals vs Boros Agro - First game was sort of weird, we both get stuck on low mana. He drops a Judge's Familiar and Madcap Skills followed by Ajani, Caller of the Pride, I Cyclonic Rift the bird and get a Master of Waves out and end up winning the race. Game 2 he flooded pretty bad and I curved into an active Thassa by turn 4 which he had no answers for. 2-0
Really enjoyed playing Mono U. It feels mostly like an agro deck but you have decisions to make as well and some interesting synergies. I'll probably keep playing this at our standard tournaments for a few weeks and see if there are any other changes that need to be made to the deck as the meta shifts.
I won my game day going 2-1-1. I played a mono white aggro deck.
R1 I sweep 2-0 against a rackdos control deck.
R2 I lost 0-2 to a turbo fog (maze's end) deck.
R3 I won with 2-1 versus G/R monsters.
R4 I drew in to the top 4
Semi's Was against a G/W mid-range ramp deck that was undefeated. I was able to use boros reckoner and heliod to attack for free and got to use an ajani ultimate for the win in game three.
Finals was an easy win against Mono-Black control with pack rats. Fiendslayer paladin was the clear mvp of this match up. It allowed me to gain life and race pack rats.
This was my first game day and enjoyed every second of it.
Won my event with my Golgari Hydras deck. The mat is awesome
R1 - Mono blue devotion: This was the third time I'd played a deck like this so I knew what to expect. Hydras just got too big too fast for him.
R2 - Mono black devotion (with blue splash): Played similarly to the blue deck except he had more removal. Was still able to out race him.
R3 - Esper control: My deck generally handles agro and midrange fairly well from the main deck so my sideboard is heavy against control. I lost game 1 but came back in games 2 and 3. Game 3, I went from an empty board to swinging for lethal (20) in less than a turn. My opponent taps out to play Jace and did something else (I don't remember). He's still at 20 life and I have an empty board. At the end of his turn, I cast Savage Summoning followed by Kalonian Hydra which enters as a 5/5. On my turn, I cast Mistcutter Hydra as a 5/5 and swing for 20
R4 - Gruul. Was simply able to out race him and remove his relevant threats.
won a gameday on sat and sunday both with mono black devotion. Went a combined 14-0-2 not losing a match. Mono red is really tough but every other match feels like a cakewalk
I'm really excited I've won it
Also won my game day playing a GB "Rock Devotion" list. It was really fun.
I went 3-2 for 10th place (out of like 35 people) and won 2 packs (the rares were Bident and Heroe's Downfall). I should have 4-1, IMO, but the first round 10 year old kid just got super lucky. He was also playing red and the turn before he would die to my superior board, he top decked a shock, dropped his 5th land, then double lightning strike and shocked me for all 8 of my life. Guh. Then the 3rd game, exactly one turn before he would die, he topdecked a Mogis AND Chandra top decked a shock that also killed me right down to my exact life total.
That little punk ass. My LGS has the strangest mix of 10 year olds - 50 year olds, but i guess they all do.
Unfortunately I went 2-2 this Game day.
Match one was versus Boros Heroic Deck. I won the games, but I could have lost the match if did not scry his Peak Eruptions to the bottom.
Match two was versus Red based Devotion. I come close to winning both games, but end up being land screwed, and not finding an answer to his Purphoros, God of the Forge.
Match 3 vs Green/Red Devotion
First game I should have mulligand, but did not. I did not draw a third land that game.
Game 2 I Got out multiple Sphere of Safety's and Heliod took me to victory.
Game 3 He got out an early burning earth, but did not have much pressure. I fail to draw another white source or a detention sphere until it was too late for me to come back. I could have won if I drew an answer earlier.
Match 4 was versus some black white homebrewed deck. I won easily.
I did not make any major play errors, but I am going to have to look at my land mix again. Not drawing the blue or white at the right time really cost me the game.

-My approach to building decks. Sometimes it works.
Over the two Game Day's I went 10-3-2 with the 2 draws being I.D. Came in 3rd out of 28 on Saturday (lost to the same deck in Swiss and Semi's) and 2nd out of 29 on Sunday losing in the Finals to GR monsters (bad plays on my part :p).
Beat BR Control 4 times, GW aggro once, RDW once, BG rock/mid-range 3 times, Mono-Black Devotion 2 times, and White-Devotion once. (The extra 2 wins are via the games we played for 'fun' after we I.D so really 12-3) Lost to Junk twice (Then added Lifebane to the SB to help against the plethora of Green and White based strats being all around), and GR once. Deck feels really good. Esper Control.
Looking forward to the sealed PTQ we have on Saturday.

On my turn, I cast Mistcutter Hydra as a 5/5 and swing for 20
R4 - Gruul. Was simply able to out race him and remove his relevant threats.
