Yea I get that a lot. I remember back when duals first started to become more readily available. I used to tell my friends, 'watch this is going to turn the game into whoever spends the most money wins.' It wasn't like that "back in the day." Not a complaint, just an observation.
Same when the internet took off. I used to talk about how people are one day just going to start copy and pasting decks from online and no one is ever going to have an original deck idea again.
Funny how some things work out, eh?
I may end up just sticking to Modern, really. With all of the cards that I've collected over the years, it would be much easier, and cheaper, to make a Modern deck work.
I've actually only been playing since M13. I also have a Modern Deck..
Funny thing is I was just talking to my wife and telling her about the pokemon games, and how the "Missingno" glitch was found and told to you by friends, you had to figure out where to find certain ones, now it's Google it =(
I have no issue with getting the shocks, they seem fairly cheap right now, but I probably won't be able to afford fetchlands, and my legacy deck will never have original duals, so I'll probably run Belcher (Stomping Grounds = Taiga)
Transguild Promenade seems like a bad idea, I'm not sure. Depends on the duals we get in Theros, if they are god awful ill look toward Promenade .
Transguild is not a solution at all, I'm just more of a casual player so I'll deal with it. It'll all depend on what Theros brings, but if I have to I'll run Chromatic Lantern, though I'm not a fan of that idea either.
True, but I would probably play Lantern over Prism anyway. Or Lantern and Grotto/Prism, because Grotto or Prism can potentially hold me over until I get Lantern and then once Lantern is out it doesn't really matter which lands I have out.
But then, if I play Lantern, do I even bother playing Manaweft? Seems redundant to me...
Yeah, I was thinking about mana issues as well, but when I started testing my deck, I realized that Manaweft solves that issue quite nicely. All you really need is consistent green sources (consistent red and white sources help too) and you're good to go.
Deck I brewed up after M14 was spoiled, haven't really done much with it, seems pretty fun though. Obviously post-rotation, will be new duals/basic lands
I am not a fan of blue in slivers as there is only one. Also black is the same way. I feel Naya is the way to go and the combat tricks that can ensue off of Sentinel Sliver and Manaweft are intense.

This is true, but that one blue sliver is a flyer and grants flying to other slivers, that can be a big advantage. It also gives access to Simic Charm which has 3 modes, all of use to this deck.
My thinking is that black is not worth running for just Syphon Sliver, but blue can be worth running for Galerider Sliver. 'All of your creatures have flying' is a big deal, in my opinion. However, I don't really want to run plus . I would rather take out one of the Naya colors for blue, the thing is, which color?
Dropping means you lose out on vigilance and double strike.
Dropping means you lose out on first strike, haste, the Hellrider sliver and the +2/+0 sliver
Dropping means you lose out on Manaweft Sliver, the +1/+1 sliver and the +3/+3 sliver.
I can't see dropping any of those colors for just Galerider Sliver...
Yeah, Naya colors are essential. That blue splash can be optional depending on what you're planning to run, though. If you just want to focus on the slivers, I'd say it's fine to drop Galerider since you'll have Thorncaster and Bonescythe to mess up blockers. But if you want certain support or combo spells (like Simic Charm or Beck/Call), you'll want to splash the blue, and you might as well put in Galerider at that point.
I've been playing a few sliver decks since they were released, found Ogre Battledriver to be much more handy than Blur Sliver. The deck has been lacking a few cards, got 3 of the flying and doublestrike slivers and Chandra to test out next Standard FNM
Current build I've been testing, still developing a sideboard, so far looking at Clan Defiance for interaction with Manaweft + sliver tokens, Signal the Clans for creature fixing, and Primeval Bounty for value effect.
I thought about Gruul War Chant for sideboard if I went with a full 4 Galerider's I'm surprised no one was looking at X burn spells because if you have a Manweft out you can get a pretty decent x out.
Not really sure what else for sideboard though. Also I'm only just getting back into magic so please thoughts would be appreciated
I haven't play tested my Sliver deck for post rotation but as of right now, other then shifting one or two lands from checks to shocks or basics, my deck only loses cavern MD.
Right now I run Ruric Thar over Megantic simply because he's AMAZING against control. In fact I dropped him last night and my opponent scooped after digging in response (he did find a removal spell but it would have killed him). Sure Megantic makes your slivers huge but he dies to removal, Ruric thar may die to removal but its gonna hurt them. Now their verdicts cost them 6 life (which is kinda what slivers are weak to since they kinda have to overextend). Though I won't lie, I hate Sphinx's Revelation to the point I want to splash more black to run Sire of Insanity.
I've found Manaweft+hive stirrings=Thorncaster Sliver.
The edge Battle has right now is that he dodges shock/pillar.
So since this is a post rotation I'm tempted to drop the galeriders and the turn/burn (since thragtusk is rotating) so going to Gruul War Chant or Gruul Charm (thanks for reminding me Marquisd) for evasion allows me to drop all blue from the MD. Though with the decent "end" slivers running signal the clan's to "toolbox" a finisher.
Door of Destinies is awful. AWFUL. I don't know what Meta's you guys play in but every time I drew door I really wished it had been pretty much anything else. Charm, Stirrings, Hell even the searing spears I was running then.
I like the idea of Clan Defiance though. It's not quite bonfire but it can at least blow up 2 creatures and hit the opponent.
But the changes to my deck for post Rotation are at least looking towards:
