This is my slightly cheaper version of Raphael Levy's World Cup Mono Green deck. I've tweaked the sideboard for my local meta. Crypt for Reanimator. Revenge for Tokens and the Aristocrats. Witchstalker for Jund(?) and Grixis Control and even possibly UWr. Plummet for Olivia in Jund and Grixis. It works against Desecration Demon as well where that demon can sometimes be a problem. Ranger's Guile against any control and against Jund.
I played this at a local tournament today and went 3-1. My only loss was to Jund and I was mana screwed two games in a row. First game of the match I kept a two land hand with no dorks and didn't draw dorks or land. Second game kept a two land two dork hand and drew no lands while dorks were killed. I see these two games as statistical anomolies and had I drew what I needed I could have taken Jund. The deck worked beautifully the rest of my matches and I just raced everything to the win.
What do you guys think of the deck as is, and what changes would you make to the main or sideboard to put this deck over the top?
Could be said of almost any match up for any deck. Sounds like a cop out
This is true. The only reason I said it was because I didn't get to see my deck actually do anything. I played my friend's Jund deck last night and won 3 out of 5 games we played. As long as I get going, particularly after sideboard, the Jund matchup comes down to who misses a beat first. I wouldn't say that about most matchups as I think this deck has a serious edge in the standard meta right now.
Played this at FNM yesterday and went 5-0. Matchups were as follows:
1. Tribal Hydra 2-0
2. Red Deck Wins 2-0
3. Jund 2-1 (Tough match up but the odds are I'm our favor)
4. Naya Blitz 2-1
5. American Control 2-0 (First match was turn 4 kill with Revenge of the Hunted and a Wolfir Silverheart he could stop in time. Second match he had to mulligan to 5.)
This deck just stomps. It stops other aggro decks in their tracks and deals huge amounts of days early against midrange and control decks. I've won 4 out of 9 FNMs with two different mono green decks. Its resilient and powerful. Most importantly its a fun deck to play. For me, Magic is all about the creatures and this decks uses them to great effect. If you want to win a few FNMs before rotation, I recommend giving this deck a shot.
Jeez, this is a deck now?!! That's awesome. I've been playing something like this for a bit over a year now in standard. Mono Green always does that, it'll be awesome for a long time but no one will play it until like the last few months the cards will be in rotation.
The Druid's Familiar is cool, but I like Yeva, Nature's Herald better. It's pseudo removal and could do all sorts of neat combat tricks with the Silverheart.
If you can get them, 4 Mutavaults are the bees knees in here.

Just picked up 2 Mutavalts last night. 2 to go lol. My last mono green deck that I played used Yeva but after playing Druid's Familiar putting six power on the board and often pumping up Predator Ooze on curve has helped my game quite a bit. Hopefully Theros gives us some good green cards because we're losing a lot come rotation.
