It may not be better, but a few Tracker's Instincts instead of a like number of Diregraf Ghouls could be interesting. A Ghoulcaller's Chant also is involved in the deck I am starting to assemble.
I have tested blood artist and 2 seems to be the right number. Since its a similar effect as the captain. I could cut 1 spell rupture but I don't know what else I would cut for the second one.
Personally I would swap the 2 Rancors for 2 more Blood Scriveners. The 2 drop slot is wide open and considering you will be easily emptying your hand, his ability is relevant.
-2 Desecration Demon
+2 Duskmantle Seer
Duskmantle is so good here, he draws you cards and he's also a 4/4 flying body.
-3 Spell Rupture
-1 Liliana of the Veil
+4 Dreg Mangler
The problems this deck faces aren't going to be solved by Spell Rupture or Liliana. 3/3 Haste and Scavenge are all relevant in this deck.
Originally I did have Dreg Manglers but I found the 3 drop is already flooded with messenger, captain, and normally I don't drop lotleth unless I have regen mana to back him up.
Rancor lets ghouls/crawlers trade with almost anything and I like the 2 ruptures just because no one expects it game 1 and it can steal a win countering a thragtusk or the like.
Cutting the misers Liliana and putting her in the board may be worth it.
-4 of Knight of Infamy is a must in the sideboard at least (pro white does a lot of work in this meta). Since you have a bit of a void in the 2 slot, you may want to mainboard him.
-3/4 of Vampire Nighthawk somewhere in the 75. Personally I'd rather have him than Desecration Demon. In a world where BTE is so common I'd rather have Nighthawk than Seer too honestly. Though Seer makes an excellent sideboard against Midrange and Control.
-Blood Scrivener did not pull his weight in my testing, I'd rather have Blood Artist or KOI.
-Putrefy/Victim of Night should be somewhere in the 75
-Liliana should be sideboard against hexproof, not mainboard.
-Rancor should be 4 of.
-I like Appetite for Brains better than spell rupture. Easier on the mana, lets you see their hand.
-4 of Golgari Charm in the board, does work against auras and Detention Sphere, gives Verdict the finger, sweeps Spirit tokens and mana dorks. Excellent card.
By far the biggest problem for this deck is Olivia. She dodges all the removal except Putrefy/Murder/morbid Slip. She takes your Vampires. Putrefy and Appetite for Brains are both x4 against Jund Midrange.

RNA Standard: Grixis Midrange, Jund Deathwhirler, Sultai Vannifar
GRN Standard: Red Midrange, Mono-Blue Tempo, Wr Aggro, Gruul Experimental Dinosaurs, Sultai Midrange, Jeskai Midrange
Modern: Bant Spirits
Forcing a single archetype in all formats: too many colors, bad mana.
Why no blood artist? He fits in the zombie decks so well.
Also sideboard ideas?
What matchups worry you?
Crypt Incursion can be unpleasant for reanimator.
Undying Evil can keep the captain alive, but not from exile. Ranger's Guile can blank Pillar of Flames.
Golgari Charm can regen the team, pick off dorks or get rid of enchantments > 3cc (but I have trouble thinking of any relevant enchantments).
A sac outlet could be useful. Corpse Blockade? If you care about blocking. Undercity Informer can mill you to find more 'crawlers. Grim Backwoods is too expensive.
Dimir Charm works well with Duskmantle.
Deadly Allure rarely works.
Appetite for Brains, Duress, Victim of Night, Putrefy or Murder could be sideboard options.
The competitive thread has ideas like the Bloodthrone Vampire and Skirsdag High Priest. Mizzium Skin is recommended, but doesn't really work with your mana.

As for my sb, I'm thinking of at least 1 liliana, nighthawks, appetites, death rites, and putrify some mix of that.
