Here is my current SB (MD list is the same as Reid's current list), primarily for a meta heavy on aggro/control. I dropped nighthawks because in the aggro matchups where I brought them in, they often got killed before they got to do anything. Let me know what you guys think:
It is difficult to help you sideboard if we do not know what your mainboard is. As in, how many lilianas mainboard since you have only 1 sideboard. Is that the 3rd or 4th bonfire. 1 or 2 rakdos' returns main?

A lot are running 2 VNH mainboard with some also adding 1-2 more sideboard. I am seeing more people going down to 2 Bonfires, but again that is a meta call. Others are removing Lily from MB and having 3 SB. Also, I barely see people running AfB over Duress.
Everything looks fine in your sideboard except Dreadbore, Barter and Abrupt. Up Tragic slip to 2 sb. Also, a 1of Slaughter Games can't hurt as I was glad to have/see one vs a Rites deck.
Although it does kill a lot of other stuff, damages to the dome and eventually gets rid of troublesome planeswalkers. It just feels clunky to miracle a Bonfire with a Falkenrath on the other side.

Do you run into alot of Reanimator? I rarely see it unless I am playing it. My suggestion is to kick out one Grounds Seal for a total of 2 in the side Board. I perfer a Devour Flesh over another Vraska in the side Board for Bant Enchantments or Hexproof issues. Keep the Bonfire regardless of Boros Reckoner, and just set it for 3-4 to wipe the board (don't get greedy). For maindeck replacement for Ground Seal, try another Abrupt Decay or Dreadbore. I would run another Devour Flesh over Barter in Blood cause it's cheaper to play early. Hexproof Bant enchantment get's going quick and I am seeing more of it. Appetite for Brins seems good, but fairly dead when Sire of insanity or Liliana is in play. Perhaps Severe the Bloodline might be better for Boros Reckoner, F. Aristocrat, and the mirror. I try to make my side board as cheap as possible cause it mainly for aggro and Bant stuff.
To the masses- Since GW Tokens is taking off; What about some answers for them in the SB? Gaze of Granet (1-2?) for now until Ratchet Bombs ticks off into Standard?

Problem with devour flesh is that a lot of lists play pilgrims now, so I don't want them to sac a pilgrim while their good stuff survives. I understand its cheaper but still. As far as ground seal, I like the idea of moving 1 to the SB because I think there is only like 2 reanimator in my meta atm, so most games they come out.
Although it does kill a lot of other stuff, damages to the dome and eventually gets rid of troublesome planeswalkers. It just feels clunky to miracle a Bonfire with a Falkenrath on the other side.
The Aristocrats are seeing very little play right now.

It kills Cartel Aristocrat. Bonfire targets players not creatures.
It kills Cartel Aristocrat. Bonfire targets players not creatures.
It can be hit with bonfire but can't be dealt damage by it if they choose protection from red. Same as in combat, it'll still be in combat and the other creature will "deal damage" but no damage will be marked on it.
Hi, my friend and I have been playing magic for about 3 months now, and we are working on his deck since a few weeks.
is a kind of jund midranged counter deck with corpsejack menace and hydra
We were wondering if this deck was good enough for a FNM or bigger events and wants to know what you think and if you have any suggestions / comments to improve this deck thank you in advance
as you can see I think we definitely need to help for the sideboard
That isn't really "Jund Midrange" the deck we are talking about here. While it is Jund colors, it looks slightly more aggro.
For what its worth, that list looks like kind of a mess (no offense intended of course).
I'm sure somebody in the Standard Deck Creation forum or the Established Competitive forum will be willing to help in more detail...

Thank you, like I said I'm kinda new here (and in magic) so im totally fine with the fact that this deck look a bit like kind of a mess, I'll also try posting it on standard!
This deck also won against a good junk tokens deck so I guess isnt that bad... I hope

Devour flesh is for other builds, not junk reanimator or mana ramp. It could still really slow down a deck. Getting that second black for liliana or serving till turn 4 is helpful when cutting the fat in the deck to minimal for early game. That is my theory and has worked extremely well for me.
are there any midrange lists that are using 3-4 copies of Varolz mb or sb?
interested in building around the card, but uncertain if it belogns in the midrange lists
No.
I have a friend that plays the deck that's built around the card. And the existence of Tragic Slip and Putrefy just really make it a horrible idea. The deck does okay, but not Tier 1.
Well, the mirror just got more interesting with the M14 rule changes:
" The "legend rule," rule 704.5k for those of you following along at home, is changing. Under the current rules, any time two or more legendary permanents with the same name were on the battlefield, they would all be put into their owners' graveyards as a state-based action. Under the new rules, any time two or more legendary permanents with the same name are controlled by a player, that player chooses one of them and the rest are put into their owners' graveyards as a state-based action.
One way to think about it is the "legend rule" now looks at each player individually. It doesn't matter what any other player controls. Clearly, this has a few play ramifications. If you control a legendary permanent, having another one enter the battlefield (by playing a second one or creating a copy of the first one) will leave you with one on the battlefield. It may be the old one. It may be the new one. That's up to you.
Also, creating a copy of a legendary permanent controlled by another player will simply give you a copy. The one controlled by the other player won't explode, won't leave the battlefield, and really won't be affected at all. Clones do what they were intended to do, which isn't to be situational killing machines. Let's look at two examples to see the new rules in action:
•You control Teysa, Orzhov Scion. Your opponent enchants it with Pacifism. You cast another Teysa, Orzhov Scion. You choose the new one to remain on the battlefield. The one enchanted by Pacifism is put into its owner's graveyard (and then so is the Pacifism).
•Your opponent controls Ruric Thar, the Unbowed. You cast Progenitor Mimic, copying it. Both creatures may stay on the battlefield as long as they're controlled by different players. After Progenitor Mimic's ability creates a token copy of Ruric Thar, you must choose one to stay on the battlefield. The other will be put into its owner's graveyard as a state-based action."
TL;TR:
You play Olivia, then they play Olivia, both stay on the field.
You play Olivia. Next turn you play another Olivia. You choose which one stays on the field - the other goes to the GY.
The same applies to Planeswalker.
I could see this very problematic as one way to remove their Garruk PH was to cast your own Garruk PH to nullify their CA. It seems now that the board will really get clogged up if both players are shooting out Beast Tokens......
Something cool though- as stated above, This turn you cast Garruk PH and use the +1 to make a beast. Next turn you -3 Garruk PH to draw cards. Then you cast another Garruk PH. You choose to keep the new one, and either make a beast or draw more cards.
Regarding the two Olivias. If you play Olivia first, and they play an Olivia, you can take control of their and then choose to put it in the graveyard with the new legend rule. Your opponent will never be able to play an Olivia into your Olivia unless they can also steal yours before you can steal theirs.

True, but then it comes down to who will untap with 5 mana, or have 5 mana open when both are on the field.
Generally speaking, the player to untap with 5 mana first will be the player who resolved Olivia first. Obviously, it's possible for someone to just have 9 mana but if you have a resolved Olivia, and your opponent is capable of having 9 mana, why are you ever tapping out below that threshold unless its winning you the game?

that situation is hard to play around; trying to guess if they have an olivia in hand when they have 9 mana open.
I will update the Primer to keep it up with the standards of the Established Sub-Forum. All suggestions, even minor ones, are highly appreciated! I believe that this one Primer is enough to cover the Jund-deck's strategy, until distinctive varations emerge.
This primer needs a major update since the release of DGM, Sire of Insanity, Putrefy the fact that we're no longer running SG etc... Also sideboarding strategy for each matchup would be killer.
Oh and so i'm not a topic killer. The new legend rule has been a long time coming for me. I never understood why two players could control a copy of the same card in the first place.
"If fetch lands are reprinted I really believe they will be in allied colors (aka Onslaught fetches). If the fetch lands are reprinted you better believe that we'll all be fetching up basics. This would lead me to believe that the set after THS may have a reprint as the temples can't be fetched but it's pure speculation." - posted 03/22/2014 proved correct during Khans spoiler season.
"The set releases for fall 2015 (Blood, Sweat and Tears) and fall 2016 (Lock, Stock and Barrel). One or both of those 2 blocks (I'm betting) are going to contain either Fetch reprints or (more likely) Filter reprints. Filter lands still need a reprint. They are getting pretty high up there and it's been longer than ZEN so it makes a little more sense that Filter lands would see print earlier that fetches." - posted 03/22/2014 proved incorrect about filters coming earlier than fetches, still pending on filters in Origins block.

I shall deliver when I get around a computer.
About the rules change -I don't think it will fundamentally change our gameplan since we run 0 clone effects, but I belive that in the mirror and against other decks that run Garruk it's now slightly more important to get ahead on mana and play your spells before theirs.
I have a sideboard question, the meta at my store mostly consists of some newer decks (like a maze's end deck) R/G aggro with Domri Rade Rubblebelt Raiders and the like and loads upon loads of CONTROL! There's also quite a bit of Junk Rites running around. Anyway I took a copy of Owen Turtenwald's deck except I'm running DRS in the sideboard.
The thing is... I never really know what to put in and more importantly, take out when I'm sideboarding. I'll go up against the aggro kid and say "ok need my 2 nighthawks and my pillars of flame. So I sac my sire's and rakdos return, then I'm stuck. Do I keep Liliana in? Do I swap Garruk with Vraska?
If someone could give me a rough guide in the format of:
American (:symr::symw::symu:Control
+1 Liliana
-1 Tragic slip

If someone takes the time to help me out I'll send you something from my binder for free and depending on the job it'll be worth your while. (blood baron, Deadbridge chant etc...)

The change of the legend rule merely makes Olivia a stupid card in the mirror. You cannot play a second Olivia until you remove your opponent's Olivia. The risk of them drawing a fifth land is too much. I may put a fourth in the sideboard come this summer depending on the meta.
