Welcome to the Standard IQ Tournaments hosted by me, your Mod, Koopa.
As I am sure many of you are aware, the Modern subforum has been running something known as the "Lantern IQs" for a while now. I have personally joined these events and they are incredible. So incredible, that it has led me to create these events for the Standard subforum. But why am I doing this you may be asking? Well, I feel these events will allow us to bring the Community closer together and allow users who normally don't have the ability to have competitive playtesting to have that luxury.
Q: So, what are the Standard IQ's?
A: Well they are 11, single-elimination events, ran monthly, that will qualify the winners for the end of the season, 16 slot, Standard Invitational.
Q: Wait, its 16 slots, but there are only 11 events... How will the other four seats be filled?
A: If you make T8 of a IQ, you will receive one Point. Top 4 gives you two points. Runner up gives you 4 points. The top 5 point holders who are not already qualified will receive these "wild card" slots.
Q: What if somebody wins multiple IQ's?
A: The runner up will get the Invite. It they are already invited, third and fourth will play for it.
Q: Alright, so what is this Standard Invitational and do I get anything for it?
A: It will be the 16 person event at the end of the season. The winner will get a MTGS trophy and $30 Store Credit to SCG or CFB.
Q: So what will I need to play?
A: Well first you need to download Cockatrice, have it updated with all the sets, and know how to create, join, and interact with the program.
Then, about a week before the next IQ starts, anyone who wants to participate may post their the Cockatrice user name and their deck code here. As well as sending the IQAccount their decklist along with the above. The first 64 players to send me and post the above information will be added to the bracket.
At the beginning of Round 1, your decklist and deck code will be locked in. It will not be allowed to be changed.
Q: So when do I play exactly?
A: I will set up a bracket system. You are expected to complete a Round a week but you can and are encouraged to work ahead as able. If your bracket is set up all the way to the final, you may go ahead and play all of your games in one night.
When you set up a game, make sure to call it "Koopa IQ _ vs _" and make it open to spectators and allow spectators to chat and see everything. That way, if something goes amiss, the spectators can help ail the situation. Also, make the password "Koopa" so we don't have a bunch of non-Sally people trolling and spamming the chat area.
Once you play out your best of three game, post the results here, and I will updated the bracket.
Q: Will me decklist be revealed at the end of each IQ?
A: Yes, unless you ask me not to. That said, this is a Community building activity, and having access to the top placing decks would be helpful.
I just checked the oracle and RTR is uploaded to the cockatrice card database. Hoping to see you all in the IQ!

LP, I'm checking your article out as well. Behind all of your swag is the brain of one of the most intelligent Magic players I've ever known. I guess that's one more thing for you to add to the wall of ego that is your Sally sig.
I can go with that. LK, you are the Mace Windu of red mages...cool, tempered logic in deliberation, but capable of just flat kicking tail when the situation warrants it.
Thanks to DNC and HotP studios for the banner!
